Just bought the alpha, omg this game. Too good.

It's okay. Feels pretty directionless so far. Doesn't seem to be anything to discover or any real point beyond "Survive".

A lot of these Dwarf-Fortress inspired games tend to forget what what makes Dorf Fort so fun is the raids and discoveries that come along with it, not just maintaining a colony.

I can agree with that. Hopefully in this alpha and going into the beta we will get an End Game kinda thing.

My first goal so far is getting all the research. I'm the same way with DF. Make stepped goals for myself, to slowly get better and not die.

Rimworld is my #1 game ATM. But Oxygen Not Included just came out so, playing this one cause its fun.

Don't starve was like that in alpha/beta as well. I actually really didn't like it but it got so much better by the time the full release came out.
I expect klei to do the same thing with this game.

Well, yeah, before everyone used the wiki, stuff like discovering hell was under you and leaking a torrent of demons out into the world was a pretty neat discovering.

Or the ancient forgotten beasts that shamble around the caves below you.

Judgment Apocalypse Survival is also an interesting colony sim

What if a wiki wasn't free, you know like some kind of Discovery Control™ sub and when you activate it you can even choose(buy) the option to display accurate information INSIDE the game.

The issue with Dwarf Fortress like games, is the depth of Dorf Fort. I love playing dorf fort but it's so beyond my depth to play it functionally but games like these are pretty fun they just don't hit that same nerve that dorf fort does.

These companies probably couldn't code the depth of half of Dorf into their games and have it run well. Shit the guys who make dorf are still cracking at it.

Your 3 guys spawn in the middle of an asteroid and you have to survive.

Looks like a less content rich version of Rimworld, which in turn is a less content rich version of Dorf Fort. No thank you.
