Just bring create-a-finisher back and make the animations more impactful.

Make it less of a wrestling sim and more of an over the top arcade brawler like the older games.

Remove the realistic design completely.

That's the only way it will ever be relevant again.

Also it helps to have interesting wrestlers on an active roster, and since that will never happen again for the WWE, you are always going to be out of luck.

More arcade styled games like Wrestlefest or All-Stars instead of the yearly rehashes.

All Stars did it best because Wrestling is about the pizzazz and glamour, no one cares about how realistic you can make the match. I want Ultimate Warrior doing 20 feet body splashes, I don't care how unlike the actual event it is. They keep pushing the realism for some reason.
