Back when the telepipe trick for rare mobs worked, I spent something like eight hours in a row going back and forth from caves 2 in one of the single player missions. Forgot the name of it, but it had something like 9 of those stupid white poison spitting flowers in the same room. Once I had to go take a leak, I stood up and saw a flowerbed full of red tulips in the window and just stood staring at them for something like five minutes.

Biggest "what the hell am I doing" moment of my life.

Doing this with Red Slimes because of my ID had a kick ass weapon. Also the old door glitch where you could solo online by facing away from 2 or 4 person doors and performed attacks that pushed you backwards through the door.

I used to play online using the Gamecube version, so I would just get a hacked Sato mag, a Psycho Wand and a bunch of other duped shit.

After getting FSODed a second time, I felt justified in getting duped items.

Got PSOEP1 and 2 on my GC the hours my brother friends and I put into offline mode. Sega is sitting on a golden egg with that franchise and rarely doing shit.

My name gave me Yellowboze until the PC version which changed to Oran for some reason. FOnewm also my entire PSO v1/v2 life, then FOmar in later installments.

For some reason they decided against bringing PSO2 to the west, not entirely sure why, it's not difficult to make an account and play the JP version with English patches, the only problem is finding people to play along with. /psog/ had already gotten to the point of just being a circlejerk before I got around to messing with it myself, so I gave up.

With a proper usb connector, sure. I have 2 of these (paid $5 each at Walmart years ago) and they work great with PS2 and GC controllers.

if you use a good VPN, PSO2 is hardly laggy. The NA version of PSO2 is never coming out due to licensing issues and if it ever did come then it would be vastly behind and inferior to the Japanese version.

Everyone puts a divide between PS4 and PSO where the series went from RPG to action oriented, but I see PSO as more of a hybrid of action gameplay and classic dungeon crawling.

IMO the areas in PSO2 are just too short and open to deliver a true "dungeon crawling" experience.

I played PSO2 a few months ago and it wasn't as much fun as PSO, I can't put my finger on it, maybe it's the slow start, a lot of the dialogues untranslated (even if the most important things are right now), but I find it uninteresting. The few people I know who gives a shit about the franchise prefer PSO2. Those who used to play PSOBB can't be bothered to start again. And then there's this drama about which server is "the best". Guess I'll go back to solo offline mode again on my GC.

I consider PSO1 a masterpiece and probably my favorite game of all time, but across the years I've put in thousands of hours and started over a dozen new characters on various platforms and servers. I'd honestly be okay never playing the game again. I've just had my fill by now
