Tfw you finally grow up and realize strategy games really are the best vidya genre of all time

>tfw you finally grow up and realize strategy games really are the best vidya genre of all time

>grow up
>still a pc faggot

I think you mean
>tfw you're so old your motoric skills are no longer capable of any other genre except strategy games

>tfw you grow up and it's too late

You mean roguelikes op

>RTS isn't one of the twitchiest genres around

People have lost StarCraft championships based on milliseconds worth of micromanagement errors.

are mobas strategy games? if so: yes

...

RTS and strategy are two completely different genres. One is meant for asian autists, the other for middle aged guys who still think they are somehow relevant.

nazi germany LITERALLY can not prevail without me

No and you should consider suicide for liking mobas

Guderian is cute! CUUUTE!

>downroad comprete

>tfw you finally grow up and realize League of Legends is the best vidya of all time

You're like 70 years late mate

BETTER GET TO IT THEN INNIT

shit genre for autistic nerds
i'd rather study for school and actually better myself then learn how to play these stupid games

>same map
>same objective

Literally the same match every time. Stop talking about your trash ftp game you worthless retarded faggot

>tfw you finally grow up and realize space sims really are the best vidya genre of all time
>there are none released recently worth playing
>there won't be any releasing in at least 10 years

Good idea, sounds like you need it.

so true

I recently discovered OpenTTD, which is only vaguely a strategy game, but holy fuck has it taken over every aspect of my life. THE CARGO MUST FLOW.

I guess this is the grand strat thread
I haven't played Eu4 for a while, so I started a new Spain game recently and I noticed I didn't have to compete with the Brits or Portuguese for historical Spanish colonies
Did they patch the game to give countries more historical bias?

Space station 13? there's a /vg/ server

Why are you playing objectively bad grand strategy games, user?

Why are you such a cunt?

Why is my dick in your mouth?

Civ V has plenty of people playing it. Admittedly, they fucked up with VI so hard there probably won't be another Civ for several years, but still.

Cause I like suckin' dicks.

Got a problem with that, motherfucker?

I tried playing Homeworld like two years ago and I just couldn't wrap my head around what the fuck I needed to do to win. I also played What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord? and it was just way too fast for me to do anything.

So basically I'm pretty dumb apparently but is there any casual or accessible strategy or RTS game that I can try to see if I'm capable of playing this genre at all?

cant give you an answer but my favorite unit in homeworld were the marines that would straight up jack an enemies ship after docking with it

Total War: Warhammer

Most casual Total War game so far and fairly accessible because of it. Also only $12 through Humble Bundle.

No real base building in live battles but you get to try formations, positioning, countering units with other units, etc. There's some RPG mechanics as well.

>we'll never get a truly good Hearts of Iron
Life is suffering

There's a good chance you're serious so have this (You).

>Eu4
Found your problem.

Homeworld is a fairly difficult game in the RTS genre. For RTS, maybe Company of Heroes or the Stronghold series is more your speed. Grand Strategy is an entirely different animal tho, I'm not sure if a casual one exists. Europa Universalist and Crusader Kings II are as close as you get, and those are still full of ridiculous systems to learn and track.

Sorry I mean to say "Europa Universalis IV" but I'm a phone poster huehuehue

Stellaris and Goy4 are the easiest to get into, although Stellaris isn't really grand strategy

for me they seemed to be even more random since the last few updates. In my game Scotland is an African exile nation, Canada is Castillian an the malakka nations colonize all over the place.

>tfw you go up against a Naziboo and wreck his shit as the USSR

Mah nigga!

StarCraft and Company of Heroes, best RTS ever.

Fight me, niggers.

>When you finally grow up and realize 80's arcade games really are the best vidya genre of all time

Do you guys prefer HOI3 or HOI4?

>play as super easy modo nation against slightly less easy modo nation
Might as well play as USA?

>StarCraft and Company of Heroes, best RTS ever.
Are you 14?

It's less for the challenge and more for the laughs to be had when you make the dork who plays as the Nazis mad

Realizing this just made me mad.

If Sup Forums is so adult as to admit strategy games as the best genre, surely they're also mature enough to peruse quality literature inbetween games.

What have you been reading, anons? I've finished most of pic related rather recently.

I am 31, youngling.

WarCraft 3, StarCraft/Brood Wars,COH/OF,Z.

You have yet to see a true winter but know this...

It is coming.

>not reading Infanterie greift an in the german original
Plebs get out

Is it because you can lose yourself in the thought of a better future than we have today?

>Military manuals and biopics
>Good literature

They're War Tutorials, user, Sun Tzu's flowery language doesn't make his work any more profound or intellectual. They're good for what they are but come on dude.

Epik meme my friend. Sadly I can't upvote your post, but have this instead

>Spend 3 hours playing strategy game
>Ai manages to take one (1x) of your cities
>Alt f4 instantly and lose all desire to keep playing

How do I stop doing this?

You really read nothing but a bunch of books on war and tactics? I mean it's not as bad as people who only read the memoirs of Dictators but it's still pretty bad.

Shame Rommel was attached to such a shit stain like Hitler, he was an alright dude. At the very least he wasn't a massive fucker like Patton and MacArthur.

I'd recommend J.F.C Fuller's "Tanks in the great war", he's written several other books too but I haven't read them yet.

You have excellent taste in bait responses, senpai.

Yet I stand by what I said.

RTS requires meta, macro and micro.

FPS requires twitch and in team based FPS, come small degree of tactics but still, twitch still determines the winner and loser of the match for them.

Patton read his books and used that knowledge to wrek his shit in Afrika.

Knowledge is power so never show your hand or reveal your secrets, lest your enemies use that knowledge against you.

No argument here

>You really read nothing but a bunch of books on war and tactics?
Nah, I just read a lot. I do prefer historical books though, fiction or otherwise. The Count of Monte Cristo and Musashi by Yoshikawa are pretty high in my favorites, but I still enjoy complete schlock like Overlord.

>I'd recommend J.F.C Fuller's "Tanks in the great war"
Thanks m8, I'll check it out. Tank books are always pretty neat.

Rommel was pretty based in WW1. Read "Infantry Attacks/Infantry on the Attack/Infanterie Greift An" if you want his own take on his time in it. Fucker managed to some pretty stupid shit.
>On 26 October 1917, Oberleutnant Erwin Rommel captured [Mt. Matajur] with 100 men, against an Italian force of over 7000.
I know they're Italians, but even still. Pretty impressive for just a lieutenant.

>Patton read his books
While this is true to an extent, I still kek reading this because the movie Patton shows that Patton read "Tank on the Attack", the book Rommel never completed.

>RTS requires meta, macro and micro.
>FPS requires twitch and in team based FPS, come small degree of tactics but still, twitch still determines the winner and loser of the match for them.
And what does that have to do with anything said before?

>league
>strategy game
that's a good b8 tho you already have 2 (you)s

Nice collection my man

>grow up
>still uses nazi images

Yeah ok

I want Men of War Assault Squad 3

>Guderian
>Nazi
Get out /leftypol/, don't you have some ebin pig memes to make?

Men of war series > Company of (cucks) heroes

Good god, CoH was so shitty. Nothing what I expected.
