Alright, once and for all Sup Forums. Final consensus for the history books.

Is Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep a good game?

It's decent.

It's okay.

It's really mediocre.

It's okay, that's really all you can say about it. I hate the gameplay with a passion though, Kingdom Hearts 2 combat will always be the best in the series.

I had fun playing every KH game the first time but after that i usually just care about the gameplay and super bosses and BBS is one of the worst in that regard. It's still a pretty good PSP game though

It's aight.

BBS FM is barely passable
I would Give it like a 55
BBS is to KH like brawl is to Smash
Also this guy is a living deviant art OC

It's good, but it's nowhere near as good as people once hyped it up as.

I liked it, but unfortunately because it was a prequel it had to reach a certain point in the franchise's narrative even if that meant at the expense of the story.

Bad combat (in the sense that it couldn't hold a candle to KH2FM)
Lots of abilities that are useless because of how fast bosses move/recover

haiku time
two retards, waifu
Eraqus is a retard
xehanort is too

Levels and disney content: Absolute shit

Story: Interesting but badly written

Gameplay: Mediocre

>two retards, waifu
funnily enough at first I didn't feel bad for aqua because her friendship with ven and terra felt fake and her voice actor was terrible
I felt bad because she was the only intelligent person of the 3, the others are just brain dead zombies

the best the franchise has to offer

It is good "casually", but lacks the higher skillceiling of 2FM's Critical and a number of mechanics are outright useless (D-Link, Shotlock), sure potentially D-Link has SOME use before you get your own cure command, but that's it for it.

And 2 basically needed Critical and the additional to provide a environment the mechanics were useful, so it isn't THAT much better either.

It's a fun game. It's not very well-designed though, so no.

Terra = more naive Rikku
Ven = less mature Roxas
Aqua = older Kairi that can fight and is almost as boring

Prove me wrong.

Terra = Gullible retard
Ven = Autistic ADHD child
Aqua = Indecisive woman

Shotlock can see use in some fights, however, given its a pretty long i-frame window, and it can also mean free damage if the enemy doesn't decide to dodge

I honestly found Ven kinda enjoyable BECAUSE he was less mature, seriously the guy was like 10/11 and got a mindwipe and considering he is basically living due a slapdash repair job by a fucking a baby it is not that surprising he would be childish as fuck after a life of what is it? 4 years at most?

It is not like he was even remotely aware that he was gonna cause the end of the universe and basically all kids have that I GONNA RUN AWAY FROM HOME moment at some point, and it is not like he was even protesting when he realized he had dun good and his adoptive dad was gonna beat his ass to death for risking the universe if i remember the scenes right.

He was more KH1 Sora then Roxas, only that in the ends Vens MY FRIENDS ARE MY POWER and bumbling around aimlessly looking for his friends and making new ones on the way was utterly and completely ineffectual in giving him a good ending and just made things worse, unlike Sora.

Terra on the other hand has literally no excuse.

well comparing it to ddd now that it's out on ps4, it's not that bad
tho I wish they would go back to their routes and try to make good gameplay like in 1 and 2

It actually made me enjoy using magic and abilities in the series. On the other hand, enemies and bosses are damage sponges, and I don't like Aqua as a character. Playing through it 3 times is tedious. It's good, but it could have been better.

It's one of three games I actually enjoyed in this series.

Honestly, for all their flaws, within BBS I kind of appreciate Terra and Ven more than Aqua, asa immensely unpopular opinion as that is. They were flawed, sure, but they also had something resembling character arcs and a sense of progression as characters.

Aqua was just kind of this sort of perfect goody two-shoes who never had any real conflict or sense of development. Admittedly I haven't played 0.2 but I dunno if I expect much from her since she's apparently Nomura's waifu.
