Are there any games that unironically changed your perspective on life after you finished them?
Are there any games that unironically changed your perspective on life after you finished them?
Depends
How old?
Nah.
Violent Semen Inferno.
Undertale
>third week, secret boss and the reports
boy that was some trip, and I loved everys econd of it
MGS2
Twewy really got me out of a dark place.
Got me to break up with my abusive ex and learn to appreciate all the time I have here.
Jesus dude, how young are you?
Sonic Adventure 2
If he played TWEWY in high school than he'd be in his late 20s right now. It's a fairly old game at this point.
user, the game is almost 10 years old
Nobody in the late teens would have taken TWEWY seriously.
I fucking love this game so much
No I'm not week minded and impressionable.
Congratulations. You have terrible taste in RPGs.
fill me in senpai
I bought this game on release with no knowledge of it besides the fact it took place in Japan and was some kind of survival plot.
My weeaboo phase is painful to remember but at least the game was amazing.
>Active gameplay
>Risk/gain mechanics on loot and experience
>Stats and play style let you experiment lots of options
>No random encounter bullshit
>No generic medieval fantasy setting
>Story focused on giving a message without being pretentious shit
>Well written characters
>Godlike Ost
>Innovative as fuck
>Doesn't use the terrible turn based rpg system
Fucking PLEB
You overestimate the emotional maturity of Sup Forums, plus the rampant 'tism.
TWEWY will be 10 years old this year.
I'll add you to the heap.
>Well written characters
Which ones? The anti-social douche MC, the suicidal fashion nerd crush, the skate punk wigger, or the math autist? I can go on here. They're all lame and annoying characters.
>Story focused on giving a message without being pretentious shit
But it is a bunch of pretentious bullshit. You have fucking angels coming down and giving people a second chance at life. The whole twist is that everyone who plays the game is dead and is getting a second chance at life by killing random monsters and doing busy work.
>Godlike Ost
Oh man, that broken English and compressed audio sure is great. Sweet music to my ears.
>Innovative as fuck
>Doesn't use the terrible turn based rpg system
Yeah, flicking your stylus around like a retard sure is fun. Oh, and let's not forget those d-pad partner combos that were implemented poorly as fuck into the battle mechanics. And that's not touching on dumb shit like Reaper Creeper, that stupid pin knocking mini-game, and other stuff.
You only played less than a week, didn't you?
>Being this PLEB
>The anti-social douche MC
Can you at least try a bit harder when baiting? Reducing Neku to anti-social douche is weak.
How do I even go about collecting all the pins and reports? fighting redphones + dark shiki seems impossible for the 4th(?) day report, I do no damage
>Characters
As much as the baseline for a lot of the cast is an assortment of stereotypes, a lot of them have good character development moments
>Story
Well, you know the 10% through the game twist. I could see complaining about the pacing (and perhaps pretentious themes) but the story itself is quite good
>Music
I'm not the sort to care about audio compression, but listening to it off the OST is great, in japanese if you really can't stand the engrish. The shop music et, al. is tragically repetitive but they don't show up for too long, usually
>Combat
The stylus combat was smooth, if you don't like the idea on principle then fine but it did a good job at what it was doing
The d-pad partner stuff was more of a micro check than anything else, though it is hard to add depth in a practical manner without overloading the already steep-ish learning curve
That moment when when random character starts going through the same shit as you
It was a little thing at the time, but it did help me go from "Shits going to suck forever" to "Shits going to suck til' I leave"
That's exactly what he is, though. Sure, he warms up, but he's still an angsty little shit up till the very ending, where he hilarious fucks up and has to replay a whole week off-screen.
Do you seriously think Neku has to do another week?
The last time he wakes up and screams everyone looks at him like he's nuts
You didn't understood the ending. Not shooting is what made him win the final game
He expected Joshua to erase Shibuya, yet he woke up there again. He was in the real world, not the UG.
"I can’t forgive you...but I trust you. You took care of things, right? Otherwise, Shibuya would be gone... and my world with it."
