Post games NISA didn't announce at their press event

Prinny 3
Makai Wars
Asagi's game

I didn't catch the event. What did I miss?

Fug.

nothing.

If anyone has the soundtrack to this (not the six track sampler) that'd be fine

But we know it is coming sooner or later.
Same with Witch and Hundred Knight 2.

Source? Because NISA didn't mention it once and given how much they have on their plate, it's looking completely unlikely. WHK2 is excusable since it's not out in Japan yet

I mean why wouldn't they localize it?
It was made by their parent company.

Because they're too busy churning out bad localizations of games they have no reason to hold the rights to, like Silver Case and Ys VIII

Wow. Nisa shit.
Witch 2 looked like it was trying to redeem the first game too.

At least they are providing jap audio for Ys VIII.

It looks exactly like the first one. The calorie counter is still annoying as fuck. The only thing better is the loli witch and trees and objects turn transparent if they block your view.

Why is Metallia a MILF now?

>At least they are providing jap audio for Ys VIII.
At the cost of literally everything else. It'll be a buggy mess with censorship of the most trivial shit

fuck NISA
like honestly. I can deal with shit localisations, but I can't deal with no localisations

That is just a blind accusation.
But I can understand it about NISA.

>The only thing better is the loli witch.
>Implying they'll ever be able to top Metal Lia.

It's not exactly blind if there's a long list of precedents

In the case of Ys VIII it is.

But it's still NISA, so I have every right to assume they'll find a way to fuck it all up.
Plus, they have their hands so full that I doubt their QA department will get the attention and workforce it deserves

Nisa is localizing Ys VIII

>NIS of America in charge of releasing NIS games

>????

I was too naive to believe that's still the case.

h-hey guise we are releasing Disgaea 5 Complete for Switch h-hehe...

2 months after Switch and JP release (which is launch title out there)
wew lads, thanks I guess

Does D5 Complete even have any new story content? Seems like it's just a bundle game

no, it's just D5 + Season pass' DLCs
no new content, period

I don't know why the company would miss the opportunity for double dip sales. I would have got it if it was an upgrade, like the portable ports.

I was a little miffed because I assumed they'd never make another version of it but I ended up getting all the content for $45 in a sale, so I'm not sure now.

Can someone tell me what the fuck Tokyo Tattoo Girls is. Even after the announcement I have no idea what the fuck it is

wonder so as well, probably just not enough time, pause between D3/4 PS3 and Vita releases was more, also I guess porting from PS3 to Vita was easier

probably another cheapass game they easily got the release rights

>NIS JP distancing itself from Disgaea with a bunch of different titles, all of them supporting the Vita
>NISA only brings over Disgaea and hardly anything else
>so much Dangan Ronpa, the majority of the viewers were only there for DRV3
I just want my Nippon Ichi games.

I don't see why they would. That game sold like shit. I don't really know how good or bad it is, but the numbers are low enough that it's very likely that NIS is just gonna abandon it.

NISA was a mistake

Here's the issue with N1.

Disgaea is literally the only thing they have that sells. The numbers are honestly nothing special, but Disgaea was the only thing they had that made money, with the exception of 5 which sold horribly. N1 has tried to expand their repertoire with a number of new IPs, but most of them only sell a fraction of the copies that pre-D5 Disgaeas generally do. Coven was a dismal failure, one of their lowest selling games yet. Furthermore, their games are also very niche. Disgaea is genuinely the closest IP they have to even remotely being mainstream.

Now here's the question: You have a product. This product sold very poorly in your home country. Do you go through the trouble of trying to sell this extremely poorly selling product overseas? Localization costs money and if they can't even break even, then it may not be worth the costs.

Incidentally, the reason Disgaea 5 for the Switch isn't gonna have any new content probably isn't because they want it to be a launch title. It's more likely because they just can't spare the dosh for it. Disgaea 5 is the only game in the franchise where Laharl's Japanese VA didn't return to reprise her roles. In fact, none of the DLC characters have any new voiced lines; they're all voice recordings from Disgaea D2 or before.

yeah, doujin touhou games will sell millions, no doubt about it, or that shitty god simulator one, totally best seller
who needs games with Harada's artwork anyway, when you can have badly drawn anime girl shovelware which you later use additional money to redraw cause who else will think of the children

>implying that more of half games they shown today would sell better
don't kid yourself

They'd probably require less work. Don't really have to bother getting English VAs for a Touhou game.

N1 might be doing a little better than what's been implied. Of course, no one's expecting them to sell a million units or anything. In Japan, Coven did about half a well as D5, managing to sell somewhere-abouts of 40k copies I think, give or take. Disgaea 5 managed to sell something along the lines of 60k copies in Japan and over 100k copies overseas. Also, Disgaea 5 was the lowest-selling Disgaea. Disgaea D2 did slightly better from what I recall, while the most successful of the 7th/8th generation Disgaeas was Disgaea 4.

I wouldn't say that N1 is dying, but they're a fairly modest company right now. And their American branch is a worthless bunch of incompetent fuck-ups.

What the fuck, really?
Time to get it used then, sorry Adol

>I wouldn't say that N1 is dying, but they're a fairly modest company right now.
certainly past their prime, sadly, but still produce a lot of quality stuff
>And their American branch is a worthless bunch of incompetent fuck-ups.
pretty much the actual reason why there is no other NIS games in west. They decided to sell a lot of low effort games instead of few decent ones, simple as that.

Yes.
I was looking forward to getting the LE for it but lolnisa

Unless if something changed recently, NIS has actually been losing money like crazy for years and NISA has been turning a tidy profit that's been keeping the company afloat.

That's because NISA is a localization/publishing company and NIS is a game development company. NISA doesn't make games; they translate games and sell them overseas. They're not limited to IPs owned by NIS; they buy the rights to games that most companies in America don't bother touching due to being niche and sell them one after another to make a quick buck. What they do is overall far less costly than what NIS does, and even if their parent company's games don't sell as much, the profits of other games make up for it. In short, they have the far easier, safer and profitable job.

The reason I call them incompetent is because they have a history of releasing broken games. Several of their localized games have bugs that weren't present in the original Japanese version, which is a major problem. This actually affected the sales of Witch and the Hundred Knight and Disgaea D2, as the two games were infamous for outright breaking the console itself.

Also, they have some questionable localization practices, but that's a far lesser issue than a bug that actually fries your PS3.

Coven was an awesome game, best thing NIS has made in years. Can't believe they're passing on localizing it. Is there just no viable western Vita market or something?

More than likely they'll announce a localization for it later in the year

The Vita is deader in America than it is in Japan. If a "Returns" port is being planned, then NISA might be waiting for that.

Also, really, it's crazy niche. It's a first-person dungeon crawler JRPG. That's even more niche than SRPGs. They might not really have a whole lot of faith in it. I don't blame them either. I can't see a title like that selling very well in the US market.

You know, they could just announce those at a later date.

>making major press event about dozens of games going to west during this year
>save something to announce later
nah, they just skipping them.

Coven is the newer than every other game NISA announced today

and that's relevant how again?

The devs for Demon Gaze have already talked about their expectations of Global sales of Demon Gaze 2 before it came out in Japan. It's made by Experience and published by Kadokowa and the company that localizes stuff for both Experience and Kadokawa is NISA.

They probably don't want Tokyo Babel, Demon Gaze 2 and Coven all announced and released at the same time since they're all DRPGs.

They couldn't do a joint PC+Steam release like they're doing with Cladun and Longest 5 Minutes?
I just wanna play all of NIS' games, not Dangan Ronpa on Touhou, which seemed to make up the entire conference.

I just don't want to get my hopes up, user

If a game's localization is still very early in the works they'd probably not want to announce it just yet. Translating a game and QA testing it takes time. They may have had to have waited until the game was finished before working on it, which means they haven't had any time at all to work on it, thus making the possibility of being announced today ridiculous. Its too new. Give it more time. Its like Atlus and Etrian Odyssey V. It'll happen. It'll just be a while.
They probably will, but once again, its too new.

That's not NISA's call. As stated, NISA is a publishing company. They don't make games and they don't make ports. They can only publish games that already exist. And the only version of Coven that exists is for the Vita.

Who is handling all the recent PC ports for NISA? Are they making NIS do them or are they outsourced to someone else?

NIS are the ones making the PC ports. The reason the Disgaea 1 PC port was so shoddy was because it was literally their first time doing something like that for the PC.
