Now I'm not so sure it will flop. Skills system seems ok, kinda like a ME3/ME1 hybrid, which is cool, I guess.
Combat,so far, doesn't look like the shitstain it was in the previous games.
Now I'm not so sure it will flop. Skills system seems ok, kinda like a ME3/ME1 hybrid, which is cool, I guess
Goddamn she looks like an abused drunkard
this one still has a character creator right? Please tell me that I can fix that face
Hilarious how they uglied her up to appease the women folk. The actual base model is gorgeous irl
well at least you can still go full Vanguard
you could have posted a picture with that post, user
>not so sure it will flop
It obviously won't flop. Not even inquisition flopped. The only question is how rampantly Sup Forums will shitpost about it.
If the game wasn't so SJW riddled and badly written I would think about pirating it.
They look the same though. /r/ing the gif of Rossi and Ryder's faces together
>space game
>can only play as humans
>switch classes on the fly
and shit
It is just an option.
You can still spec as the typical Soldier, Adept, Vanguard etc. Or you can just mix and match whatever you like. Why is this a problem?
The plot is to find a new home world for humanity so........
Goddamn I'm no artist but those death animations look like shit senpai.
because it ruins the point of carefully selecting a class for a situation and encourages blatant ' of fuck need a rpg better switch classes' type of shitters.
>Not even inquisition flopped.
can't say for sure, it released right in time for shareholders call
they were VERY smoke and mirrors about it
It wont flop because it's Mass Effect.
But it will get shit on for sure.
why does the plot have to revolve around humanity at all? why can you play literally any other alien race and fight the ancient evil alongside humans?
Only by places like these
Mainstream places will still happily eat it, like how they criticized ME3 only for the ending
I think it's a good thing for open world games, also it's not like you can invest in everything at once, you just can mix and match. System looks like ME3 but freed up.
PC version will probably have proper task bar like DAI.
>DAI
>proper task bar
fuck off and let me have more than 8 fucking skills
>death animations
it's not a thing since what? 2004? when HL2 came out?
They went for bethesda effect with physics engine settings.
you were OP in the game as is
pee bee
Viral marketing
please say this doesn't have denuvo fuck
I don't give a fuck about power levels, either don't give me more skills than I can use or give me more skill slots
>like how they criticized ME3 only for the ending
well besides cortez and vega it was generally alright end of saga
solving galaxy issues and going away
weird how after tw3 ending I'm not mad, just sad about whole thing
I'm still mad about ME3
This. 4 games in and it's still HUMANITY DA BES. At least the ME3 MP let us play as whatever we liked.
So you can closely identify with the characters, it's for plot and emotional impact. This is like writing 101.
explain why I can play as an 8 foot tall bull-demon-person in Dragon Age then
Still has heavy human features, and the rest of your party is mostly very human. I guess having an asari protagonist could have worked, except the lack of gender options.
because everyone in DA is part of that world, they were born tehre
in ME1-3 and A you are sci-fi hero that explores galaxy for first time
it's like you never read space opera book before, also it would be travesty to write from alient point of view
just like it was in DAI with qunari
>YOU CAN HOVER FOR A SECOND IN THE AIR
>YOU CAN EVEN (!) USE YOU VEHICLE AS COVER
>No weapons restrictions
>No class restrictions
>Combat looks boring
>Enemies don't really pose a threat
>Using a scope enemies which are right in front of you
>People praise it
What am I missing here?
>it ruins the point of carefully selecting a class for a situation
wat
that's exactly what it allows you to do, it doesn't "ruin the point" of anything
besides, you don't switch your entire class. the old class system is gone, it's just choosing a set of buffs that you want to use. (like the adept profile will probably make your biotic skills cool down faster, engineer will make your tech skills cool down faster, etc)
each profile seems to have its own rank as well so you don't just have a set of 6 fixed specs to pick from. most likely each one will level up as you use it or by investing points there, you won't just be able to switch from soldier profile to adept profile and instantly get huge buffs to your biotic skills if you haven't already put in the time to upgrade that profile and those biotic skills
Will there be custom faces?
the only purely ragdoll game was oblivion. in skyrim it's either ragdoll or finishing move and fallout 4 has canned death animation that randomly combine with physic.
>Combat looks boring
There are plenty of things to complain about and you list the one thing that just isn't true? seriously user.
>Enemies don't really pose a threat
these things are recorded at lowest difficulty as a rule, even ME3 was challenging enough on hardest
I can see options with this combat that would be enjoyable, would highly depend if they adapted AI or not, something like FC4 AI for sapient enemies would be in open world.
Why does the main girls face never seem to change? It's always some variation of :D or :o
What the fuck?
well they didn't show off Charge and that was the only interesting playstyle in ME2 and 3 so yeah pretty boring
the shit that was me3 can never be fixed but this looks good
now the forced memes will backfire on Sup Forums as always
because 88% of Me players chose male.
you dont even need charge in me:a. just push dodge forward like cod.
Do we know if multiplayer is still just horde mode?
Do we know if MP keeps the booster pack system?
>well they didn't show off Charge
first 30 second of trailer. also you can charge from jet pack jump
you don't know what Charge is do you
I would assume yes to both
hopefully we can still cheat engine in credits
because they had to model and rig the race for multiplayer anyway, shoving it into single player as an option gives them bullet points for work they have to do anyway.
so many human only armorsleast gear optionstheir racial armor is DLC and still doesn't even work right for them.all dos hambuhgehs
Reminder:
>EA sold out the ME franchise and turned it into a generic shooter
>ME3 was fanservice trash that was below industry expectations in every category
>EA won worst company in America for the shit they pulled
>Still refused to admit they fucked up
Andromeda will be trash. It already looks like trash. Stop buying games at release.
If PvP exist it will be just a lift spam galore so yes.
Not really, it showed the character just walk around and shoot at enemies that didn't really shot back
Now you can go with and say that it's on the easiest difficulty but why make a video showcasing your gameplay and make it look too easy?
Shooting and using abilites on enemies that don't fight back isn't really exciting and it's a very poor way to sell a game
Now, were they to show that enemy is serious and then show how you deal with these hard enemies using your weapons and skills, that would be much better
...
>a video showcasing your gameplay and make it look too easy?
because every single AAA trailer in existence does that
Is it just me, or does hovering midair perfectly still seem like the worst possible idea in firefight?
Also leads to balancing concerns, the more games to tend advertise "mobility" the more gimped the enemies are in terms of damage and being able to hit you wile you zip around the place, while running around like a shit tier flash cosplayer is fun it gets dull if there is no actual threat of dying.
>Shooting and using abilites on enemies that don't fight back isn't really exciting and it's a very poor way to sell a game
that's has been the way companies advertise games since forever. Unless it's le dank soles hardcore ripoff. Even PvP games advertise by showing a handful of players dominating a match.
...
basic questions:
Can i wrek shiet with just biotic?
What is the level cap ?
Is there a character editor ?
Do i have to play as fem shep pictured (AKA Shrek T Masseffected) ?
Are other races playable ?
Do i get to edit my ship and rover ?
Is the endgame just 3 choice no difference again?
Maybe that's the case but it's not an excuse
Especially when you really do need to sell your game as hard as you can after fucking up so hard that your failure is joked about in mainstream media
>hey guys what if we literally just copy and paste Destiny into our game for the combat
>cant play as aliens
>new species are just recolors
>bipedal two armed aliens with mouths and two eyes
SO ORIGINAL
except according to mainstream media, there is no problem with me 3 gameplay.
>proper gameplay finally shown
>it looks pretty decent, not amazing but definitely and improvement over the mediocrity of the first games
>underageb& still insist that it looks awful because they have to satisfy their urge to rebel and earn Sup Forums cool points
come on now. we're all anonymous here. you can admit it looks better than you expected it to, don't be shy.
I don't think women actually like ugly characters. Bioware just doesn't have good artists.
who cares, big releases like this get cracked within weeks now that CPY has got the hang of it
Combat looks alright, but now I'm worried about the characters/story. They seem very bland and the character animations feel rushed. Kind of just seems like the bad guy is playing off the Collector role. Most people buy a Bioware game for the characters and lore, kind of worried that they fixed one problem and let another go by the wayside here when they really need a slam dunk to win people back.
I hope its more RPG/adventure than shooter, but I know i'll be let down.
I have to admit, it doesn't look that bad. Thought it was going to be another slog in that regard like DA:I. The option of having tons of shit to upgrade looks nice too.
No, the problem is with the ending
And before this unimpressive video, people still felt the sting of that even after all these years
People don't really forget massive fuckups so they'll be extermely wary
>Especially when you really do need to sell your game as hard as you can
1. Casual console players love that shit, most of them will see this trailer and go WHOA LOOK AT THOSE POWERS AND GUNS, THAT LOOKS AWESOME
2. Mass Effect 3 was still really well-received in general. There were more people vocally upset about it than other games usually provoke, but they were still an insignificant portion of the player base (though just significant enough for people to know they exist so EA could put a marketing spin on their reaction and presumably sell even more copies)
That actually looks pretty good, need to see the multiplayer.
Could you play cracked ME3 mp? Guessing no.
Sad thing is Bioware think women like ugly characters,
Because a vocal minority got upset that BioWare removed the multiple race feature from DAII.
The statistics for DAI show that the majority of people played human. I completely understand why BioWare wouldn't want to add a costly feature that most people don't even care about or use.
It was different for older games like DAO since it wasn't expected then that the protagonist would have voice acting.
>amerifats think this is beautiful
Learn from the best kids
Women don't.
The trisexual quad-gendered goblins that whine on social media en masse do though, and that's what some companies try to appeal to now even though they don't even buy the games.
looks better than i was expecting and i can't deny adding a jetpack to biotic charge options is appealing but i still dislike the you can be everything aspect, and the characters are still bothering me.
i'm still expecting the story is either going to go nowhere or we need to brace hard for NEOREAPERS2 trilogy reveal
Because thats not mass effect
Mass effect is about humanity's place in the universe(s)
>north america is USA
en jay
>finally applying the cooldown system again
Still not what I keep hoping for but that's a plus
>>bipedal two armed aliens with mouths and two eyes
"I don't know what convergent evolution is" the post
there are a lot of problems with ME3, big ones and small ones. the ending was just the final straw that broke many many people's building issues and grievances.
yes the revised endings placate a lot of people, but for many people it's just being served 'that' ending, after all that bullshit they'd been holding across all the games finally ignited. the medias attempt to pass their shit off as 'oh yous just babybooboos who can't take not perfect sunshine adult endings' only made things worse
everyone who thinks synthesis ending is a good ending should be shot
that's valid
however, i'd counter the "you can be everything" complaint by pointing out that you can't be everything at once. you still have a limited allotment of skill points to invest, presumably earned as you level up.
also: ME1 had that system where if you used a skill enough, you'd earn an achievement that would allow you to select that skill as a bonus power for any class on subsequent playthroughs. i don't know how common it was but IIRC nobody here seemed to mind being able to mix class skills like that back in the old days of /meg/. soldier + warp was a pretty popular combo.
you can bet that feature had something to do with Andromeda's skill system.
>It's another YOU CAN MIX AND MATCH YOUR SKILLS ON THE FLY TO CATER TO EVERY PLAYSTYLE
No, it doesn't work like that. They don't understand that the more choices you have available at any given time, the more limited you are at actually making choices.
For example, you have a certain situation. Normally, a good developer will allow for more ways than one to cater to said situation. Now you just switch to a setup that makes it play better. It doesn't cater to every playstyle, it makes you switch to one playstyle to play the best. More on that, why would most people play any playstyle that isn't the best?
>But user, because it's fun!
Sure, but you have to keep to a certain playstyle, which looks like you'll have to switch for certain match ups. Rather than giving every style a chance to beat a certain situation, they just make it so you can pick any style at any time. It's lazy, and while it's still too early to say, it looks like it won't be any great either.
Limitations in choices are the things that make you truly free to choose. Eventually everyone becomes monotonous every-man's, instead of having to make actual choices to make your /own/ character. It's just different paths to the same endgame.
>I'm worried about the characters/story
The team has me most worried. What we see is pretty much it save for a native or two and if that's the case it's going to be the worst team to date. The last thing I want in a ME title is an almost all human team.
bioware are lazy shit who just contort the same human body for everything, the only reason inquisition has the extra race sis because multiplayer features would require them to model that shit anyway so you can just spend a little more and add 'good' feature.
the non human races were so godamn fucked for options in inquisition, i mean for fuck's sake Quinari had the least options, AND their racial armor in game wa shead paint, AND their own racial armor as DLC didn't even work on them properly
there was only ever one good class in Mass Effect anyway
this post, sweet cringing jesus, just how fat are you?
lol oh no, not the dreaded skeleton boogeyman!
>t. slavsquat
you'll never be white, blyat
I was dead set on not playing it when they said you can only play as a human, but now I'm not so sure. Could be a good substitute to playing the first three (only ever finished the second one and don't remember shit).
I'll pirate it though.
meeeeeeleeeeeeeeeeeeee
Is she? I don't know.
OP's pic is the closest resemblance to date (jawline seems slimmer) and I'm starting to think the model just isn't that hot.
Her lips are too big.
But with that being said she's still better looking than Diana Allers and ME3 Femshep.
looks kinda fun, I get it for $10 because I work for EA so my expectations are reasonably tempered after 3
I could see jumpjack jetboosting vanguard shotgunning with singularity thrown in to be pretty cool
The model is an extremely average girl with professionally applied makeup and styled hair.
Ryder just needs some trashy makeup options to make her look nice and slutty, and we're good to go.
The fuck happened to her?
yeah but it's more a problem of modern design. if you have no restriction and no 'weakness' your characters all blend together into generic mc generic the guy who picked the best stuff.
also that was ME2 that did that, ME1 just had bonuses from achievements. in that situation though you picked 'one' power for more strategic things, usually to fill in a gap in your base options. warp was popular because it filled a gap in soldiers kit and his main ability needed the cooldown a lot.
Andromeda's skill system is a kitchen sink approach, they just give you everything and expect you to diversify or not as much as you want. can be good but can also end up like fallout 4, where no matter what you do your character still feels somehow like every other one because of how your growth is paced.
>work for EA
>don't even get free games
truly the greatest Jews
It is not going to flop sales wise. Quality wise? for sure.
>B-BUT THE COMBAT MIGHT BE DECENT
It is meaningless as bioware doesn't know to make good encounters, enemy AI or arenas.
>>Garrus and Tali are among the most favored characters across the board, and are still seen as points of light even after all dark shit that ME3 ended up being.
"Lets start you off just like we did ME1 with 3 human characters you absolutely do not care for only for you to seek out the actual interesting characters!...again"
Hell, there's even less of a reason for this this time around because the andromed init was supposed to be multi-racial rather than the Human military that you start in for ME1.
And the fucking scary part is that there is no guarantee that there will be the Tali/Garrus/Wrex level friends among the companions this time, especially because of the pandering Bioware has been embracing...
