We're going back to our roots

>We're going back to our roots

name one thing wrong with this

its a shitty term developers use when they're gonna rehash a game, usually making it worse. Just look at Dead Rising 4

>we're going back to potatos

Wrong.

Trump, please get the fuck off Sup Forums and be a faggot somewhere else

It never works

>what is wrong with capcom's catchprase for the RE series?
Maybe that it never happens?

>REVII

>We're going back to our roots
>not a single original dev on board

>this idea killed sonic, mario, mega man, and now resident evil

Fuck that phrase

>we are oldschool

>this idea killed sonic

I'm a cuck

Fixed it for ya ;)

>We've streamlined the gameplay experience

...

underrated post

How was making Sonic Adventure going back to the series' roots?

> he hasnt played Shadow Dragon

SA was fine. Im talking all about the nostalgia garbage starting in 2010 with no end in sight. We will never get a 3D game again

>implying the 3D games were any good

They never do.

>we're appealing to a wider audience

>We want the {game} audience

It's always a bold-faced lie.

>implying opinions from nostalgic bitter idiots born in the 80s count

The games sold millions and have tons of fans and sonic was way more popular back then compared to 2010+. Enjoy your shitty 2D side scrollers though bro

>and now resident evil

Fuck you, 7 is the best the series has been for years. Unless you're one of those dumbasses who thinks 6 was anything other than a trainwreck.

You made a powerful enemy today

fucking nudoom defence force

>we wanted to make the game more accessible while still maintaining the air of challenge long time fans know and love

because more often than not devs are up their own asses, thinking that they know better than anyone else what the original game was about

Diablo? It's all about trading right? So let's make a real money auction and turn the game into WoW meets Disgaea. Who cares about skill trees?

Worms? Everyone knows it's all about vehicles and other gimmicks! Oh and the W:A's rope. Don't forget about the damn rope. Also Kamikaze is DLC.

What's worse?

Rehashes or doing new things badly?

>it's bad when they say they want to go back to the series roots
>it's bad when they say they want to take the series in a new direction

If Sup Forums had its way, developers would get to make one game before they have to commit suicide.

Resident Evil 7 is almost as bad as the movie series

Bad games are just bad, a good rehash can still be enjoyable.

>The games sold millions and have tons of fans
So does Call of Duty. That doesn't mean the 3D games were good.

7 is actually the best game in the netire series

The former is bad because they never actually do it, they just do what they think is the roots and miss the point completely.
The latter is bad because there was no reason to change direction. The former is typically said after going with the latter and realising it was a mistake.

But there are lots of decent games that get hated on solely for being a rehash.

>call of duty
>bad

Back to youtube comments little tyke :) You have some more trailers to dislike

>call of duty
>good

>get hated on
>caring for the opinions of others
There's yer problem
Just like what you like, dudester.

I guess. It just seems there should be a healthier balance. People should judge a game for what it is, not for how much new/old it brings in/brings back.

>This new game is just a rehash!
>This new game plays nothing like the old ones!

>People should judge a game for what it is
A lot of people do, just not here.
Just look at Dark Souls 3.

Doing a rehash badly.
At least when you try something new and fail, you tried something new.
A rehash can be good, but if it's bad then it's just worthless.
