No, awful tank controls and awkward camera angles, bad voice acting and retarded puzzles.
Only turbo-contrarians prefer these over RE7.
Just for the sandwich.
Yes.
Tank controls are only hated by underage casuals.
Yeah, they are
I replayed REmake the other day too
They're all great games but they don't have a massive amount of replayability unless you fuck up here and there on purpose
the only thing that's aged poorly for most people are the controls
RE1 was a bit janky even in it's day what with the shitty models and fucky audio issues
2 and 3 are still pretty excellent games by any standard of what was available on the psx. Especially in the visuals and audio.
I'd go so far as saying RE3 has some of the greatest ambient audio and music in gaming.
I disagree, scenarios, arrange mode, speedruns, low healing and saving runs and unlockables really bump the replayability up like crazy
Do you guys know why 7 keeps flashing between windowed and fullscreen ?
Only specific ports have arranged mode, only 2 has different scenarios outside of choosing how you deal with the Nemesis in 3
Only speed runs and going after a better rank is right and it's only 2which has the best reason to try and get the best ranks
People should give dino crisis 1 and 2 a shot. 2 is a great action game with tank controls
Yes, they were great, but Silent Hill was even better, and this coming from a huge RE fanboy
Dino Crisis is amazing, it's a shame it died so soon
yes. But they are a bit dated because they are so different than today's games. Or as this fool put it: >No, awful tank controls and awkward camera angles, bad voice acting and retarded puzzles.
The "awkward" camera angles are because of console restraints. The only way to get really gorgeous graphics on the Playstation is to use pre-made 2D backgrounds. That also allows you to make the 3D really great too. Gorgeous cutting edge graphics are partly why RE games stood out and got popular to begin with.
2 > 1 > 3
DC1 is a weird but really cool experiment.
DC2 is an amazing clown car of murder and one of the coolest weapon rosters in gaming
DC3 is secretly fantastic but it's also the single greatest examples of how bad fixed camera angles can damage a gameplay experience
yeah i was think of getting the eboot so i could emulate it on my psp for maximum comfy
Nah, Silent Hill looks better and it's real 3D and the camerawork is stellar. The pre-rendered backdrops were so tiny anyway that they lost all the details.
Silent Hill looks as good as a PS1 can look. But that's it. And it has almost no draw distance on top of that. Even during the "day" there's fog IN THE SCHOOL. It's nice that they built a game around that limitation and turned it into an advantage. But you couldn't make Resident Evil with that engine or platform.
Just make the fog black and it works, RE1 is basically just a dark mansion with small corridors. RE2-3 might as well take place during nighttime, which they do for the most part.
user... If you have to ask...
the answer is fucking yes. If you don't like that answer then fuck it, call the cops.
>beat re7
>start madhouse
>immediately lose interest due to unskippable scripted shit
>load up remake
>go back back 2 runs of knife only clocking under 3/4 hours each
I'm genuinely mad Jill does less damage with the knife after looking up the values for bosses.

>chris 29 slashes
>jill 40 slashes
Literally telling the truth. Tank controls are not a fucking big deal.
Yes. I can already tell you are RE6fag.
Resident evils back grounds and environments were rendered while silent hills were all 3d or someshit. So the fog aerved two purposes. Dont know why in sh 2 the fog was way overdone to the point where the noise filter made it hard to see anything.
>female protag can carry more items, insta unlock all small key holes, can play music, has old ass nigga following her
>male protag cant carry as much, cant even lockpick easy locks, musically retarded, has to babysit, has to do extra stepa to get same results as female protag
Men literally do life in hard mode. I remember the sword key was an extra item chris had to get ro unlock a door jill could easily open in the original.
I liked how both characters play different and are not simple skin swaps with different stories.
I played and beat RE 1 for the first time two weeks ago. Yes, they were.
To me they are. Never get tired of playing them. Especially RE2.
