Well if you're loving it then you're going to have a good time with this. I think
Wind Waker fags just get mad they don't have Midna.
What's Sup Forums's opinion on TP ? Is the consensus here it's an overall good game ?
It really is the best zelda for OoT fans to play.
TP is easily the 2nd/3rd best 3d Zelda game (Majora's Mask is pretty great, probably better depending on your taste) and anyone who disagrees is a faggot.
It's split 50/50 between loving and hating it.
>playing it for the first time
may god have mercy on your soul.
>It really is the best zelda for OoT fans to play.
I agree with this. People say it's too similar to OoT but I like that.
Wait until you finish the first set of dungeons and discover how shit the midgame is.
Or when you discover how pointless the dog is, or how fun is having to collectathon shiny sparks just to open a dungeon EVERY SINGLE TIME.
It's like they countered how annoying the triforce hunt was in WW with even more boring bullshit.
I don't have to
>Complains about pointless shit in TP
>Likes WW
???
TP is the worst Zelda game, even worse than the unofficial knockoffs by panasonic.
It is irredeemably bad. The music is horrendous, the character designs are disgustingly fucked up, the wolf design looks like an anime moe octopus with a dog's body attached to it, the entire plot is about midna - not link, not zelda, not zant, not ganondorf - its exists 100% as exposition for midna who is an unlikable domineering imp cunt bitch - and the game's hyrule is empty and boring as fuck with overall bad visual design that slapping HD textures onto wasn't even enough to fix.
TP is a vessel for transmitting sickness and disease. It is not actually a "game".
People that liked it would say it could've been better
People that disliked it just found the game too boring
I just 100%'d it on Wii U a couple of weeks ago. Not as bad as I remember it being on the Wii. I think using an acutal controller (wii u pro? i think?) made it a lot better. Bretty gud
Are you fully delitized, foreverially tied up and loving it?
>bad music
>bad character design
Hero mode also makes a world of difference. Same with WW.
>imfuckingplying
I wrote in that post
>how annoying the triforce hunt was in WW
How did you decoded that in your brain as me liking WW?
Only people who shit on TP or WW fags or sonyggers that have never played a Zelda game.
POWER OF DEDUCTION
Dungeons: Tons of fun, best in the series so far.
Two hours of backtracking, fetchquesting, and a story so bland and uninteresting that I'd rather read a Glen Beck novel (He writes fiction, seriously): Almost kills the game entirely for me. I hadn't played it since I got it for the Game Cube in '06 and I remembered liking it. But playing the HD version a decade later made me like it less with all the fluff and filler.
>Midna unlikable
>Bad music
The character designs really are fucking terrible but you're wrong bud, it's not that bad of a game.
are WW fags*
two hours in betweeen dungeons, is what I meant to say.
Is it worth buying the HD version? I already have it on Wii. Is it 720p or 1080p? Would be quite a jump from 480p
I am om the sky temple myself. Truth be told, I am liking it a bunch but good lord some of the bosses are rather easy. They look great but aren't very aggro.
Good game overall so far though and Midna carried the first 3-4 hours of it for me. Great character.
>Dolphin emulator
>HD Texture pack
>upscaled graphix
>???
>Profit
Don't waste your money on dat shite nigga
Or just hack your WiiU. Its easy
github.com
Waste your money on a DS title required*
Midna is unlikable though.
You do what she tells you to do.
Put that into the perspective of the entire plot being about her.
She says do thing, and you like a patronized goodboy do the thing and if you don't then the story doesn't advance.
she is a terrible character and so is wolf link. Only furries and pedos would enjoy them, cause wolf link looks nothing like an actual wolf and instead like a disney-tier big eyed cartoon shitter animal that those disneyfuckers enjoy so much.
...
Shit taste. Only edgy 14 year-olds think Twilight Princess was good.
I think the whole "I hate wolf Link" is starting to become the "Navi is so annoying!" of Twilight Princess. The wolf gameplay is fine, just a meme people latched onto.
is there an hd pack worth using for the wiiu version of Twilight Princess HD?
>the wolf gameplay is fine
>no access to items
>3 actions you can do
>muh auto Z-button traversal
>no upgrades
the wolf gameplay is bad, son.
I wouldn't go as far as calling it outright bad because it controls fine enough and ads the slightest amount of utility, but it's definitely very bland, and by far the weakest transformation in the entire series.
Who /GameCube version/ here?
it's an 8.8/10 for me
>wolf gameplay bad
I'm actually playing the game for the first time, and I agree this shit is boring as hell. I just got to the water temple... is it going to continue with this formula for the rest of the game? If I have to keep collecting tears I'm going to drop this shit.
>anime characters don't have proportions like Vitruvian Man
You don't say.
The game is anime trash and Midna is the most obnoxious sidekick ever. You have shit taste.
Nah.
It gets even worse in addition to still having to collect tears.
You only have to do the tear collecting three times, so I think you're done with that. However, the hour+ of backtracking and faffing about in between dungeons doesn't go away, and with the exception of the ice dungeon, all of it is a monotonous slog.
Wait tear gathering is still in the HD version? Cmon.
It's still there, but they reduced the amount you have to collect to around 2/3 of what is was in the original versions.
its more like Link and most characters are proportionate in every way except very short legs.
They're like chimps.
good arm length, hand length, finger length, arm width, leg width, torso length, pelvis length, head size
then you get to the leg length and its literally shit.
Unsurprisingly, Aonuma loves Wind Waker and will apply that design philosphy wherever he can, even when it doesn't belong.
Tear collecting wasn't even that bad in my opinion, though Skyward Sword made it a lot more interesting with the timer. I can't believe I'm saying that because usually just slapping a timer on something to add difficulty makes it worse, but it was actually fun for me.
Fuck that Banjo Kazooie moment in Skyward Sword though.
>TP Link is a manlet
...
Only people with downs think the Triforce quest at the end of WW was fun.
>According to Hyrule Historia, Ganondorf is 230 cm tall (7'6'') in Ocarina of Time. His 1/4 scale model from First 4 Figures, who used in game data to faithfully recreate his appearance in Twilight Princess, stands at 23 inches tall, which indicates that he stands at 7'6" in that game as well.
Also Poe collecting that is the most tedious thing out there in the game only appear at night and you find yourself having to waiting on the time to pass just for one ghost. At least in the HD version they make it easier to keep track of which areas you've obtained them in.
It's a good game
Anyway
MM > OOT > WW > TP >>> SS
>in addition to still having to collect tears.
Cmon user, you don't have to flat out lie.
ALttP >>>>>>>>> everything else
>TP Link is /literally/ a manlet
pointless dog? its almost as fast as epona! i didnt use her outside of forced sections!
i do agree that collecting tears of light was not too fun filler.
We're talking bout 3d zeldas
Link is proof that DEX>STR
zelda games are never about link, link is a blank slate to play the story of the other character.
its called twilight princess, not as if they where hiding the fact that the game is about midna
hidden skills are really fun to use
fights against dark nuts are the best
Too linear until the end of the game.
Link is the main character and you play through him and other's reliance on him. He is the main character in basically every zelda game except TP.
OoT you're tasked by the Deku Tree to leave kokiri forest - you as link go where you want and end up in castle town where you as link need to do a thing for malon to get access to the courtyard where you meet ZELDA who tells you what to do next. You HELP Darunia and gorons to advance the plot. You HELP Ruto and King Zora to advance the plot. Every little bump in the road is helping a different character.
Wind Waker follows a similar structure except replace Zelda with tetra, but you're more on your own here with just the vague guidance of your boat.
ALttP although light on story is an advancement of saving princesses and Zelda herself.
Links Awakening is basically all about Link.
Skyward Sword is even about Zelda and Link.
TP on the other hand is just about Midna. It's poorly designed as a zelda game to give the player that same agency or variety as games before and after it. Even little things like removing the zone of influence of zant from areas of the world is just to help Midna, not the people living in hyrule affected by it. Just the teensiest of side quests aim to push anyone elses agenda but hers for shit like poe collection or paying towards the goron slush fund in castle town -and helping the gorons or zora is cheapened when the ultimate goal is just so Midna can get more Shadow mask pieces or whatever. Zelda fucking dies for Midna. Even Ganondorf's "importance" in the latter part of the game is virtually out of place too - he just shows up, you fight him, you kill him, and the ending is again Midna.
Its all fucking midna. it's a miserably boring one-sided story without variety that might be okay as AdventureMan: Twilight Princess - but is just junk when comparing it to the story of anything else in the Zelda franchise.
OST is shit
Just shitty remixes
The trials in Skyward Sword made me want to kill myself.
ALTTP is overrated
Personally, it's my personal favorite 3D Zelda. I love how it never slows down. The magnetic fire dungeon, the joust with the Bokoblin chieftain, every Ganondorf battle, the sumo shit and the claw-based dungeons. Iirc the ice dungeon had tons of mechanically interesting things about it. The game just keeps on changing it up and hitting you with something new, it doesn't get stale and I love that.
There's also the cool, melancholic ambience of the game. Lots of great scenery, calming music, heartfelt characters, and so many minigames/collectibles around the world that you hardly know what to do with them all. In my opinion, TP is an underrated masterpiece.
