Can anyone who's played the moonrune version explain why all the nips hate it so much?
How is it so bad when 4, 5, and 0 were all almost perfect.

When will they port Ishin? I wanted to play that over 0
From what I've read here the game took a lot of steps back when it came to the combat. Also a lot of Chinese dick sucking because they love Yakuza over there and Sega wants more money.
Zero sold really well here, but I still don't see this ever happening. I imported it and played a big chunk of the game with this translation guide (khhsubs.com
The combat is fantastic though
The main issue is the move to a new engine concept is that stuff like heat attacks with items laying around all use the same animation.
It's a step backwards for sure but this is also dismissing how fucking awesome seemless fights and the general better background interaction is.
Many didn't like the ending as well. Could have been better but I'm not going to call it terrible.
Never. It's a miracle we're even getting 0, Kiwami, and 6.
5 was the worst one, I don't understand how people keep praising it. Shit story, Introduction of the worst playable character in the series (Baseball cunt). Forced minigame segments for an entire chapter (Haruka). And the pace of the game is incredibly slow.
Do you think there's hope for Yakuza 7 then? In an ideal world the fact that engine is done would mean they can focus on more details like heat attack animations and spend more time on the story if that's really the issue
I don't get why they didn't make another samurai game to test the new engine like they have before.
Yes. The main problem is that they haven't had 5 games to refine the new engine.
That's good to hear at least
>inb4 6 doesn't sell well and Sega never localizes 7 which turns out to be the best in the series
Did Sega localize 0? Only reason we got 5 was Sony localizing it after tons of people requested it.
Gameplay is coupe of steps down from Zero. Kiryu has less moves, the guard system is shit (blocking interrupts combos and enemies turtle like a motherfucker), heat feels ineffectual save for the Amon fight (where it is useful only for not dying).
A lot of people probably bitched about the lack of cameos from character from the series, but that didn't bother me. There's no Majima fight, Daigo didn't fuck up. The story follows a bunch of new characters and solves their conflicts nicely. I quite liked it. But I imagine a lot of people wanted more pandering.
I'm sure Sony helped subsidize it but I would be really surprised if the actual localization wasn't done in-house by Sega, since the localization is pretty clearly done by the same people who localized 1-4
>Daigo didn't fuck up.
Sony has apparently been playing a big part in getting the games over since 5. Though nobody really know to what extent. That is if they are helping with localization or just offering licensing incentives
>Daigo didn't fuck up
But he did. Got blamed for burn down Little Asia and only got out prison at the end thanks to Kiryu.
> But I imagine a lot of people wanted more pandering.
I imagine people wanted boss fights that weren't all shit.
han
>4,5 were almost perfect
HAHA
the Haruka bit wouldn't have been so bad if there were more than like 2 songs
this guy did
>She's making a signal
>no Majima fight
Oh now that's disappointing.
I tried the demo and maybe it's just the fact that I'm so engrossed into Yakuza 0 right now, but going back to 30 fps feels absolutely terrible.
Walking around and fighting feels unresponsive, and while the game looks better graphically I can't say it looks better aesthetically.
Also there's an insane amount of ambient occlusion making everything look like highly detailed works of play-dough.
Five is the only Yakuza game I've started and never finished. Tons of shit to do but the pacing was horrible. I'll pick it up again eventually.
Six has motherfucking Beat Takeshi though and that alone is reason enough for me to pick it up.
