Phoenix has a pretty good guardian spell and special ability and solid damage
The lightning lion has great affects but its spell is kind of trash

Fuse-Ushi most definitely. Extra life, the ki reduction on block with high toughness and a little extra on gear can take that shit down to like 10 flat ki lost even on powerful attacks. Poison resist isn't really much of anything, but it's living weapon stats are goddamn excellent, as is it's summon attack (long range, multiple hits on larger yokai.)

Nah, I'm hitting it as he's swinging and still taking damage. Or I hit it early, get the animation for it whiffing and still get hit.

Mostly been using Kato for Ki recovery boost.

Same user, I'm currently using a heavy armor, axe/1 kat and ninjutsu build. Can block even the super-onryoki boss that kintoki helps you with. Atlas Bear is a great alternative as well, terrible living weapon attack/stats, but the actual benefits are ridiculously strong for axe users. Couple that with Samurai from Dark Lands and you'll be hitting 10k damage grapples/final hits and 4k strikes.

Please follow the thread, I am currently fighting Hanzo for the second ninjutsu mission. I'm aware that parries can only be done on human enemies.

The game outright refers to Uroboros being Kelley's guardian spirit, senpai.

I used Suzaku for most of the last half of the game. Was good insurance if I got careless and a boss killed me.

Why does Saoirse suck so much. I was really looking forward to using her but she's like one of the weakest spirits. Her one good ability only matters if you don't make it back to your grave if you die.

Agreed. Would have been cool if it's guardian talisman effect was used to disguise yourself for a limited time or something.

With Atlas Bear and Samurai from Dark Lands giving you great CC% damage bonuses, Atlas Bear and the Axe Mystic Art buffing attacks that drain your Ki, Samurai from Dark Lands giving you A damage scaling from Stamina, some final blow/grapple damage bonuses on the gear as well, and a good mononobe axe (inherent Strength A scaling at max familiarity,) you will obliterate almost anything with a few swings once you learn to ki pulse appropriately to drain your own ki on all your attacks but not leave you in the negative so a single strike staggers you.

Nah it's good it was just overhyped by reviewers and has issues with enemy variety but otherwise a solid 8/10. As more people complete the game there's less to discuss because everything is being discovered and it doesn't have quite the same longevity as Dark Souls and all those games but it's far from not good.

I'd use Atlas Bear since his Guardian Talisman puts anything that can be knocked down into the knockdown state, but I don't like Africans.

So I've finished the main story and have completed every single side mission (including post-story ones) but the last region is still showing up as not being complete, despite not having any new missions
Any ideas why? Does it maybe have something to do with the mastery dojo missions (I'm missing 3 of the weapon mystic arts missions)

You have to do the Dual Katana mastery mission. Thankfully 2kat is pretty quick to grind proficiency on since it hits so fast, took me like an hour of just killing enemies in the Nobunaga/Kelley mission with Hanzo and Okatsu being bait to reach the required amount.

The mission it unlocks is pretty easy since it's intended for when you're still in Sekigahara immediately after killing the skeleton fuck and you have an NPC with you so it shouldn't be too tough.

Nah coop isn't really required unless you want to help people out, and I think revenants which are important for endgame are available even without PS+ but I'm not too sure about that.

Because after a certain point unless you are purposefully ignoring most of the mechanics William gets so overpowered that most bosses get zerged down in under a minute, then you're left with fighting bandits and Yoki

Nah the mission is pretty easy outside of a single room just before the boss, and the enemies in that room don't respawn.

If you want to be OP as shit you kill them then get purple sets and weapons with A+ scaling main stat

Only in NG+/Way of the Strong, which you unlock after you beat Kelley. It adds a new tier of items above Exotic called Divine and to get them to drop in Way of the Strong you need to offer Ochokos at the mission select screen that are dropped by Revenants and to upgrade them to +1 and +2 and so on you need divine fragments that you can only get from disassembling divine weapons and armour from Revenants. So just ignore them until NG+ or ignore them entirely unless you wanna get into the grind for decent stuff to not get raped by Way of the Strong Missions.

They can drop whatever gear the person had equipped. Which should usually be pretty good unless the person was a retard.

when comparing Nioh to other ARPGs that I've played, it's really fucking long. people are saying 35-50 hours? I agree, 20 hours should be the minimum for a $60 game. The difference is that I'm at just over 20 hours and I'm halfway done with it.

When do you get Saika and Yasuke's spirits? I just cleared out Sekigahara and did a side mission where I rescued Saika from Bat tits. I expected that to be the mission that unlocked his spirit.

You need to have beaten the spider castle mission and found all of the tea cup fragments, it unocks a new NPC and the Hidden Teahouse option from the mission map where you can join clans and spend glory on stuff, and you buy the character skins there with glory. You get glory from coop or killing revenants, it isn't too tough to get a lot if you get summoned a couple of times.

You have to beat him in multiple missions I think, the first one, then bat tits and then another in Sekigahara called 'The Watcher in the Darkness' or something like that, you fight him beat him there as well then he'll give you Yata-Garasu. Yasuke's spirit is in the second last mission, but Sekigahara is the second last region so you're only a few missions away from it.

I unlocked the teahouse and everything, but my entry for Danjo in the amrita memories is still missing a section that has the "Find all of the Higarumo Kettle fragments" requirement. Any anons out there run into this?

That user was wrong. You don't need to find all the fragment to unlock the teahouse. It automatically unlocks when you beat the mission.

Maybe you don't need all the fragments then? How many did you find? Cause there's 6 iirc.
