He could already take it out without having to reload, and with the removal of headshots, he is now WORSE at killing tanks, plus with the awful spread it has now, he is also WORSE at killing squishies.
Literally all they did was make his sentry mode worse and make his recon mode a worse version of Soldier 76.
She's a clutch tank that works well in a few specific comps. Rein works well as a main tank in just about every comp except dive.
The only way they're getting rid of Rein as a must pick is to add another character can do the same main tank role. Same thing with Lucio, until there's another means of speedboost he's a must pick 99% of the time.

1 thing i would like to add to this. I fucking wish the shield exploded like it does in the Winston trailer. Atleast then it would deter enemies from just running inside of it.

He still has the highest DPS of anyone in the game by far, and the highest DPS up to 40m, do you know how many engagements happen inside of 40m? Almost all of them, out shoot a widow with soldier you stupid fuck.
His spread increase is only a nerf to very long range engagements, close-mid is still just as effective even without headshots. The sentry deploy/release, heal and recon buff means he doesn't instagib the moment he pops sentry, he's super mobile now.

Sombra can hack through his shield. That's it. The game's supposed to be around hero swapping so having one that counters another hard isn't a terrible thing.

Its really not. You could kill a Roadhog before he even knew where you were in sentry mode before. Now you shoot him for almost a full second before he dies.

He's not needed in every situation possible, Any other tank except roadhog can still help out better. Especially on the CP maps
Bring back shield killers like they had in Alpha. I would like for a character or two to have dedicated shield busters for Rein, Zarya, and Winston.

He's fine as it is. Most shitters will die with or without his shield before Rein can turn around and wonder where the fuck his team went.
I'd honestly just lower the shield radius a tiny bit if he was actually that important, but he isn't.
Let's look at why Reinhardt is so well liked first.

Reinhardt is a little OP. Not too much, but because he's not a proper fighter like Genji or something it's a bit harder to notice. Honestly what Reinhardt needs is a good nerf to balance him out.
>Reduce shield size and HP by 50%. This makes it so that the entire team can't hide for free and the shield doesn't take ages to break. Increase shield recharge time when fully broken to balance it out.

I also feel like Reinhardt's ult needs a change. It shouldn't knockdown, or at least for not as long. It comes out faster than Mei's ult and keeps you grounded for just as long if not longer. Its the worst. Make it do more damage to compensate or pop you up into the air or something, but remove the knockdown stun.

Make the game not shit for starters.
Give it enough flexibility and depth so there's more than 1 right way of playing.
Start of by making sure every class has one main fire, one alt fire, two activated abilities and even the main fire could have some extra nuance in how it can be used.
Hell, nerf ults across the board but make them easier to grind so they're more like strong abilities that can be used constantly than game changing super cooldowns.
OW's issue is that every class comes down to a one trick pony, so the whole game is just about stacking the most effective comp out of those straight forward options.

You are massively overdoing it. The reason Blizz barely nerfs things at the same time is because they're afraid of doing some dumb ass shit like your suggestions that will effectively completely remove a character from the game.
Rein's shield is the primary problem with him. Combined with the map design having tons of chokes, his shield is a mandatory tool to push through on offense, or stand your ground in defense. Personally, I would nerf it's hp down to 1500 or 1600, and probably increase the delay before it starts regenerating a bit. This way there will be more time to capitalize on taking his shield down without making it worthless for anything but personal protection.
Firestrike is fine. It does large damage but travels extremely slowly.
His melee should slow him down while he's swinging. Rein being able to stick to people without movement options and slap them for 80 a hit is too good, especially with how bad his hitbox is.
Charge should do more damage the further you travel with your target, reaching it's full, current damage cap after 2 seconds or so. That way if he just bumps someone against a wall, they'll shrug it off. No more cheap instant kills from around a corner, but maybe he can land a firestrike afterwards to secure a kill on a weakened opponent.
As for his ult, it needs to be more consistent, and give more delay between the warning yell and the ult effect. It comes out too quickly right now to be countered by anything but another Rein ult, or a Zen/Lucio that don't get hit by it.

That's te point of the game though, every chokepoint is just a checkpoint to try and fuck up the other team, also you only need a mosquito tracer or any flanker and half of the other team will chase them around like retards.

Because in a game where each team chooses 6 of 20something heroes, it shouldn't turn into choose 5 of 20something -1 heroes - let alone 4 of or 3 of.
