I can already see the complaints from the hardcore zelda crow about "NOT MUH ZELDA"

I can already see the complaints from the hardcore zelda crow about "NOT MUH ZELDA"

They've grown attached to the Ocarina of Time formula that has plagued the 3D games for nearly over 20 years

>go to dungeon
>get item
>use item to solve puzzles in said dungeon
>beat boss
>item becomes extremely situational/near useless
>enemies do shit damage (for comparison, a normal bokoblin in breath of the wild does more damge than a darknut in windwaker)
>the illusion of freedom
>annoying ass companion to guide and handhold you the whole way through

Finally Breath of The Wild is returning to the roots of Zelda 1, rewarding actual exploration (which is what Zelda is all about).

But you just know some people will be upset about this and probably praise Skyward Sword's linearity as a result.

I'll wait for a video from Egoraptor before I decide what to think

How does Link teleport those apples?

WW and TP are the games your average Sup Forums poster likes nowadays. They are already bitching about the lack of puzzles. On the other hand i don't see a lot of 2D fans hyped for BotW.

It can be another MGSV for all we know.

>Arin "I hate OoT because I have trouble existing in a 3D space" Hansen.

nty.

>people think like this

fucking this

He seems to look at them first, so I guessing it's some close range psychic power.

It would be more fun if pressing the action button made Link swipe his arms out, so you actually had to aim to catch things like flying bugs.

The fact the nu-gamers love linearity and hate open world will only add to that.

Old fags grew up with linear games from nes to gen 7. Old fags have seen the extent of linearity, so we want open world.

New faga grew up with open world, so they only see linearity in rose tinted glasses

I have no qualms about the new style, if there is sufficient unique items that would have been dungeon items in previous games. Like the glider is the only one we have seen, outside of slate rune. Which is kinda annoying, you are forced to get all the runes before leaving the plateau so you peak pretty early

There's also the opal-looking earrings that probably let Link dive like a Zora.

Well we've seen other things that were "items" before, like the deku leaf, boomerangs, the elemental arrows and the elemental rods.

same here, i rather not have my own opinion and would rather listen to someone who cant even beat OoT or Wind Waker without dying due to his own stupidity

Their durability makes me wonder if we'll be able to continuously buy them/find them somewhere.

Enemies have boomerangs, and you can find leaves lying around and presumably from chopping trees down or climbing them.

Nothing will probably act as important as when they were items, especially boomerangs and rods

Everything drops weapons and arrows, and bombs are infinite.

Yeah, they're probably just primarily used for combat and shenanigans instead of puzzles.

Yeah, but the Fire Rod and elemental arrows have only been in chests so far, and there most likely isn't a finite supply, so you're probably going to be buying them somewhere.

what the fuck are you talking about. I was born in 1998 and this is horseshit: the post

WW is my favorite but I'm definitely hyped about BOTW. All the puzzles seem to be in shrines which is perfectly fine.

just saw leak videos
shit is empty as fuck
like REALLY EMPTY

There are no leak videos

I haven't seen that webm. Game looks beautiful gosh I can't wait. Hope the wiiu version looks the same.

>he doesn't know

I'm pretty sure shit respawns every day. We don't know if chests have random loot though. I really doubt it, considering the whole game revolves around planning your journey.

>He doesn't know that there's nothing to know

Put your money where your memes are and prove it.

Facts:
This is going to be fun.
People will be angry that its fun.
People will demand that they be pandered to.
People will cry forever in impotent rage as nintendo rolls around in their mountains of money.
Nintendo will be just fine.
This will sell.
The DLC will be fun.
Its going to be fun.

Come on if there were any leak videos and they showed the game was actually shit, everybody would be shit posting with them

>Facts:
shit is empty as skyrim
dungeons are confirmed skyrim tier
Only goblins and skeletons so far
You have Ghost iwata dick in the mouth

>WW and TP are the games your average Sup Forums poster likes nowadays. They are already bitching about the lack of puzzles.

I doubt fans of WW particularly care about puzzles in Zelda games, especially considering how lacking the dungeons actually were in that game. They're probably super excited about BotW because it tries to focus on exploration (which is fine).

TP fans? Not so sure about those. They might dislike the game since the bulk of TP's content was just dungeons.

I'm a HUGE FAGGOT. That said, the only thing I'm really going to miss is companions. I always liked the part that they help the hero obtain the master sword and taking their leave, never to be seen again, as the master sword is put back to rest.

Literally all false except the last one

Source : my ass

>s-spoonfeed me daddy p-please
nu-Sup Forums fucking sucks

you like those explosions?
when it happen framerate goes to 5fps
search the leaks , the guy keep updating

LOL how new are you, if those videos were real everybody would be posting them, Sup Forums loves spoiling games

Why Zelda 1 is so good?
I know where everything is and the game is the epitome of fun.

I don't understand this game. Some webms look horrible and others, like yours, look gorgeous.

>It's a good game, but not a good "Zelda" game.

I know you're being sarcastic, and people are playing along, but many, many people here will unironically be like this if you replace "a video from Egoraptor" with "the opinion most shitposted about for the first few days on Sup Forums"

You must love the ubisoft open world games, you cum guzzling faggot. Old games where linear. So it basically invalidates your argument.

Cherry picked screenshots maybe?

>leak don't exist meme

I want to kill and eat everything.

why is it so, empty?

Yeah, that's my guess.
I didn't saw one "average" webm. Or is it horrible or much better than I antecipated, like yours again.
I don't know much about the game cause I want to play knowing almost nothing.

I will play on WiiU, so I am afraid of the downgrade because the NX version.

More memes that mean jack shit. If you make a statement claiming you know something that nobody else seems to know, you can either back it up or shut the fuck up.

It's very simple, reddit-kun. You spout your shit very convincingly but I can still spot you.

Lightning got downgraded. You can bet in both versions.

oh shit, I'm outta here!

You're going to feel really fucking stupid when you find out lel

>empty
>Webb shows not empty

What is empty to you people, honestly?

doesnt look like 5 fps to me user, maybe a dip yeah, but not 5 fps

leaker says the wiiu version basically grinds to a standstill when anything happens at all, let alone an explosions

Some ESRB shit.

One brief sequence depicts a battlefield strewn with the bodies of enemy creatures; in the background, a few bodies appear to be impaled by spears. The game contains some mildly suggestive material: fairies with moderate cleavage and/or exaggerated-size breasts; dialogue such as “I get to see a young hunk draw a bow again?” and “If I have to have something pounce on me, why couldn’t it be a lady?” During the course of the game, a shop owner tells Link that she only serves “…drinks that are definitely just for adults…”; players can also encounter a drunken character that occasionally hiccups.”

So, the leaked version is true?
I must get out of Sup Forums now?

there's not leaks faggot, and if there are, post them

all "leaks" up until now have been old Wii U demo footage on a shitty TV

>Ocarina of Time formula
This is just the Zelda formula you contrarian fag. The only mainline Zeldas to not do this are 2, ALBW, and BOTW

if there was an actual leak Sup Forums would be going apeshit

the thread earlier was pushing it, I'm leaving starting tomorrow. Shit is about to get real sketchy

>rewarding actual exploration (which is what Zelda is all about).
Says fucking who motherfucker? Zelda games were always praised for their plots, characters, atmospheres, soundtracks, because everything came together to make you feel like you're in a fairytale. It was never about the combat or the exploration.

>Lightning got downgraded

But it kills you in one hit...

hur...

> It was never about the combat or the exploration.

Holy shit die in a fire. Even if you're tolling it's still pathetic.

this is only valid if egoraptor gave a single fuck about his actual channel, plus only reddit watches GG

>exaggerated size breasts
This is seriously something that affects ESRB rating? Breast size?

That's why I'm saying the same formulae ocarina of time pioneered has been plaguing the series for 20 years.

They found a successful formula with Ocarina of Time and completely abandon the ideals of the original. Now Ocarina of Time and Majoras Mask were solid games but Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword have no excuse for retreading the same exact shit.

There are travelling merchants around the world map and I'm sure the towns will have them. I expect shops to be more like in a conventional RPG with selling as well as buying.

Come to think of it we've seen very little of towns at all except for some aerial shots.

>OOT is groundbreaking, amazing for its time
>MM is also amazing, an exciting twist on OOT's worldbuilding and mechanics
>WW switches up the formula with its own set of mechanics and a bold new aesthetic (even though traveling the ocean gets a bit tedious at some point or another)
'Surely, this is 3D Legend of Zelda's future- a strong, stable core concept, twisted about in exciting and fun ways with each variation! I can't wait to see what this upcoming Legend of Zelda game brings!' -me, 2005
>TP is just OOT but blander
>SS is just OOT but blanderer
>mfw
Yeah, just destroy the formula at this point. Fuck it. I don't care. Anything's better than another Skyward Sword.

Do you have actual arguments or what? The most beloved Zelda games are Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past. Ocarina of Time is the most linear, story centered game you can have except maybe for Metal Gear Solid, and A Link to the Past literally marks your objectives on the map. Which Zelda game was ever praised for exploration? Or do you consider bombing a rock, falling down a hole, killing a bunch of enemies in trivialized combat and collecting rupees from a chest exploration?

Most of the reason that the ESRB was formed was because of parents being worried about depictions of excessive violence as well as sexual content, so yes it does.

This is Sup Forums, by the board's idiotic standards, Disneyland is empty

I'm saying Ocarina didn't start that formula, it just brought it into 3D.

>Ocarina of Time is the most linear, story centered game you can have except maybe for Metal Gear Solid

Yeah, please don't expect me to pretend take you seriously. You're completely right about LttP though and the game doesn't get anywhere near as much shit as it should for that.

I feel bad when I think about Zelda. There is literally no pleasing you people. If a new game comes out you'll bitch about some mechanic, if no new games come out you bitch that Nintendo is dead. The game isn't even out yet and people are proclaiming it to be better or worse than other games in the series. How about you all just wait and see what the game is. Also, you all need to stop hyping these products like they are going to change your life. They're just games, play them, have fun, move on to the next one.

mee too

LttP was and still is my favorite. I'm hyped as fuck. Finally some exploration without knowing everything that's out there already. That was the magic of LttP. I know where everything is now, but back in the day I just explored for hours on end. I can't wait for that again.

It's very convenient to answer like that, I could do it for anything. Tell me one way to sequence break Ocarina of Time without literally breaking the game. Everything but the path you're supposed to follow is literally blocked by terrain, invisible walls or what have you, and characters all tell you where to go and what to do next

Thanks. Honestly, I think there was more exploration in the original Dragon Warrior or a game like Hydlide. "Exploration" seems to be another term for not giving you an objective. What is really a better system, someone telling you, "Hey you need to go to the top of Death Mountain" and sending you to find a way or the game just literally giving you no clues as to what to do.

Zelda 1 didnt reward exploration. The levels were designed linearly and were labeled in sequential order with literal numbers. It told you where to find secrets.

>muh Zelda 1
The only people who talk about BotW like its Zelda 1 are fucking retards who never played Zelda 1. They're the equivalent of thr godforsaken idiots who say Dragonball Super is like the original Dragonball.

You're a goddamn alien invader, a subhuman parasite trying to make sense but failing miserably, only making sense inside your own slurry of regurgitated diarrhea you call a mind.

rot in hell

Nah fuck that, LttP wasn't linear. Sure there were roadblocks that you couldn't get through until you got whatever item (especially in the dark world) but if you messed with the mirror you could get into areas earlier. After the first dark world dungeon you could already get the tempered master sword.

What's the reasoning for the Wii U version having a hazy green fog filter over it? The Switch version looks fine.

The hell are you talking about? Modern casuals LOVE openworld. It's why the market's oversaturated with them these days.

>Huh, looks like I need a boomerang to hit multiple switches
>Better find an enemy that drops a boomerang

It's not that hard to reach for an idea.

>The only people who talk about BotW like its Zelda 1 are fucking retards who never played Zelda 1

Such as Eiji Aonuma, who still hasn't beaten the game.

Capture card problems

someone's THIS angry on a video game imageboard?

why pick fights with the "hardcore zelda crowd", the fanbase has changed and grown over the years. the ocarina of time formula isn't the first time it was used and they didn't use it in every single game after.

17 year old detected.

I played Zelda 1 when it came out, I was 9 years old. Compared to literally EVERY OTHER GAME out at the time, it was the first true game that ever encouraged exploration.

I need to invent a word for people with your mindset. This shitty mindset that invades all parts of Sup Forums, where you people think that if something is older and newer games have improved upon what made the original excellent, suddenly the original is no longer worthwhile. Appreciation of where things come from is something worthwhile to have.

It did though. If you explored enough you could get the strongest weapons in the game without even going to the first dungeon. Also there's secrets in like 1/3 of the screens in the game

Dude subhumans piss me off, i dont care where or when or what the topic is. They can't learn, they can't improve, they can't be taught, and they wont ever not waste yoir time.

>Zelda 1 didnt reward exploration.

Come on now. Secret shop with Blue Ring in it? Various hidden Rupee caches. The entire second quest flipping the game on it's head and forcing you to look for dungeons in places you wouldn't expect? The whole game was built off Miyamoto's childhood of exploring caves near his home. That's why it's an adventure game.

>"Exploration" seems to be another term for not giving you an objective.

No, you're just an idiot. There is plenty of direction in Zelda 1 if you look for it, from clues given by NPCs to the clues given by the environment. You're right though, it would be a shit game if it didn't tell you where to go in some fashion. Good games just allow you to ignore it if you want to. Which we know is what happens with BotW. Go to the markers set on your map by Zelda to further the Main Quest, but you don't have to if you don't want to.

the dungeons aren't the only part of the game and you could still complete most of them out of order. the overworld does reward you for exploration, you get rewarded for interacting with the world and finding secrets. the dungeon numbers have almost no meaning

Zelda 1 was a shitty game dude.

The formula established from 2 onward were improvements.

You're a confused ape.

>Go to the markers set on your map by Zelda
does this really happen? show me

back to Sup Forums with you, then

I don't think it is possible to get the 12 heart requirement for the magic sword without going into a dungeon. I know a few hearts can be gotten with bombs and by burning bushes, but that's like 6 hearts at most.

that sound atrocious, actually

See
Just because you weren't born to play it, and by the time you were playing games everything was already 3d doesn't mean they were shit, you just lack appreciation.

Back to hell with you

you're a subhuman
