wtf everything looks worse now
Wtf everything looks worse now
The power of the PS4
why are these boxes even glowing?
Yup, that's UE4 alright
i was going to make a joke about "attack while it's tail's up!" but this looks so shitty i dont feel like it anymore
Modern lighting engines make everything glow
There's one thing that's confusing me
Why is Magic and Materia 2 separate things in the menu?
Magic is materia, so what's going on?
looks like some painted the sides of those crates on
Fuck, I'm still mad
Probably command materia.
My best guess is that the Materia command opens a sub-menu that lets you use command materia (i.e. deathblow, gil toss, etc.)
But that's only a guess.
this is going to be so shit lmao
>remake the definitive turn-based RPG
>LOL dude it's an action RPG now better dodge the red crosses on the ground! get to cover soldier!
what did they mean by this?
>get to cover SOLDIER!
ftfy
"They'll still give us money, who gives a shit what they want? Lmao"
i don't get it
do you guys want an exact remake of ff7 but with better graphics?
Can't see shit captain.
Looks better than FFXV, but that isn't really saying much.
the issue isn't that it's not an exact remake, the issue is that it's no longer a turn-based RPG
materia are now just +stat items and you learn magic as you level up
haha what if that was true i mean theres no way that would happen right?
yes pls
Whatever AA that is needs to fuck off because it doesn't even do its job of removing jaggies
That's sure as hell what I wanted
Maybe make some tweaks here and there, but I still just wanted the same game
気をつけろ!しっぽをあげている間に攻撃すると レーザーで反撃してくるぞ!
I see
I hope they fix the aliasing, it's disturbing how much of it is present
Switching to these complex lighting engines was a mistake, forward renderers were incredibly more efficient and much much less demanding
This will still sell millions regardless simply because it is FF7
turn based games don't push large enough numbers anymore.
I'm currently playing FFVII for the first time on my PSP
I have mixed feelingd about this
There's too much going on...
Well at least you actually have the chance to die now, i guess.
This would.
You'll all buy it anyway.
I mean what are you gonna do? Wait another decade for FF16?
yeah and
it'll still be garbage
At least Tabata can't ruin the plot since it's already there, unless they literally remove whole chunks of game/exposition.
You guys do realize that the PC version of the original FF7 exists, and that there are mods to give you close to what you wanted, right???
Oh well. Let the bitching continue. I knew this was exactly was what was gonna happen. Just like the Resident evil fandom, the Final Fantasy fandom's gonna argue over which genre is better for the series forever.
Can't wait for them to remove trap Cloud because it'll piss of trannies
Or they could just play a better series.
Aerith is stabbed.
But for dramatic purposes she's still alive enough to help the party against the Jenova fight.
Unleashes one last Great Gospel.
After the battle, she gives the party all some parting words before finally dying.
Then why does Pokemon sell like hotcakes?
looks like a fucking mess
Because it's Pokemon
So it would sell the same if it was action combat?
like wut, TALES?
It's an industry meme. You know, like how "Good video games don't sell anymore", and then when companies make good video games they're shocked when they make money.
I won't play this if they take away that whole segment honestly. It was good fun and showed how the game didn't take itself too seriously unlike everything after AC came out.
Etrian Odyssey
Did SM really sell that much ALREADY?
That's not a better series.
brand recognition. if it was the same shit but NOT with pokemon, it wouldn't sell shit.
shut the fuck up cuck
...
The "art" direction is pissing me off so much. They should have went with a similar style for this game like ssmb cloud.
The have this shit style for everything since advent children and it looks absolutly boring and tacky.
Yes, remember Pokemon GO? It didn't even need gameplay.
Oh no, that game I played a half dozen times won't have the same intellectual, complex, and enthralling:
>[ attack --> attack --> heal --> limit ] combat.
It'll have horrible, dreadful, kinda fun:
>[ attack (while dodging) --> attack (while dodging) --> heal --> limit (don't miss) ] combat,
Which is different & I hate it. In fact this game might make those goofy climbing sections somewhat enjoyable, and eliminate the handful of moments where you tried to piece together where the level designer wants you to travel across the background's camouflaged ramps.
But isn't that free
Is there a game less appealing than FF?
I honestly can't see why would anyone enjoy any of the modern FF titles.
Everything about it feels like a bunch of failed ideas combined with zero creativity into a "product" that only meets the expectations of shareholders.
Like it's made to fill in a checklist.
Is this because of outsourcing?
>FF7 remake trailer reveal looks better than FF15 CG bullshit trailers
>people actually thought it wouldn't be downgraded
wew lad
They don't though. Good games rarely sell well.
I think it looks great.
Fight me fgts.
>attack
>magic
>materia
>item
...
>materia
Wait, what? Just add a fucking summon command and controller shortcuts for command materia. Already a trainwreck.
What about it looks not-bad?
There hasn't been a coherent FF game for 17 years.
They sell well, but they don't make mega bucks like CoD used to (I don't know how it sells these days). It feels like companies have recently been rediscovering markets they forgot about in chasing the latest fads.
>magic and materias are 2 different commands
they literally created the materias to contribute to the main theme of the game: industrial crap is everywhere, how the hell can they be so out of touch with their own product?
What a vague description that applies to all AAA games.
Who are you quoting? I don't think most people believed that at all.
It's NOT FINAL. Idiot.
I'm fairly sure that's just what they are these days. Still love 90s Final Fantasy, but eh, FF hasn't been great in 17 years. I am now realizing that there's only a few more years before it'll be 20 years since FF was "good". What a sad realization.
I'm quoting your mom with my BBC, you giant faggot. I bet you'd love to suck on it.
Literally every FF game post 6
6 was just like 7
From the first moment people were wishing for a FFVII remake a long long time ago that is EXACTLY what people wanted.
However, I'm still excited for it
Its not turn based.
Looks like a modern take on a classic game which is fine.
Did the shitposter just moved from XV to VIIR?
>brand recognition
>FF15 is shit or the very least everyone must agree on that it's an incomplete and rushed game
>selling damn fine
>FF7
>The game that everybody asked for
>"Nah dude, there won't be brand recognition on this, people don't even know what kind of game it is, Square gotta make it as bland and tasteless as possible so it can be sell to everyone."
No.
Just fucking no.
They have brand recognition, in fact, nobody that play games don't know about FF7 because it's being mentioned and rubbed to the face all the time.
Every E3, people are asking for FF7 remake ever since they starting to remaster/remake FF series.
Square are just doing this shit because of Kingdom Heart's huge success.
So now every game need to be like "dat KH battle system yo"
FF15 tried it, and they failed to make a interesting system.
I'm surprised that they even plan to put the same shit on FF7:RE now.
>2006 was 20 years ago
FF15 doesn't have a KH battle system ya dork
So there is a possibility it just might have a turn based mode, right?
...
>press a button to attack
>press a button to block/dodge
>control only one character
>action game
Turn based is dead.
Sounds like FF15 has a Bayonetta battle system then
Only in our dreams
This guy are sick
good thing it's gonna be on PC then
>tfw crash bandicoot can figure it out but not FF
>tfw can't post image cause network lag
$%£&...
I always saw FF7 praised for story, characters, music, etc.
But never for gameplay. Why are all the people praising it coming out only now?
Piracy won't fix the game being shit, it will only mean that shit devs get feedback. But shit devs tend to twist said feedback into
>our amazing game is being pirated more often than bought, it must mean we didn't put enough DRM in it
>it's a remake of a video game
>bloom and blur and shiny surfaces everywhere
yup sounds about right
>Everyone is an expert analyzing graphics and light effects
Fuck off already you autistic scum
With Denuvo I bet. Square loves paying for that crap.
At least you can control panel some AA into those jaggies.
And you think a final fantasy game couldn't sell "because it's final fantasy" especially a remake of the most popular ff game in the west?
That's not a remake exclusive thing, it's just a modern video game thing
People love the idea of FF7, the mood, the adventure, the tone. People see a change in gameplay as a change to the heart of that mood they fell in love with because is gameplay not the heart of a game? Except I really don't think this is the case. If they do it well it'll have the same adventure but with slightly more fulfilling action sequences. Remember that part of the Shinra Building where you stealth past four guards who literally do not even have vision cones? What?
The big concern with the gameplay now being action is that cutscenes might feel really bad. In FF7 you're either in a fight or you're chilling on the overworld. In FF7R if there's no cutaway to battle, no clear seperation, the constant start-stopping the game does could be bad. But they could do it well. I haven't played FFXV.
I think he's talking about graphical settings and mods.
When will producers learn people want the exact same game from remakes and hate what's different?
>REmake
>same game
>everyone loves it
pretty sure most people always liked VIIs gameplay more than most of FF games
Stagnation a shit, why would you want that? I'd rather their big dumb high budget remake tried something new.
I hated it. It removed everything that made RE awesome.
>those HP totals
Boy the PC version looks gaudy
>PC Version
Stupidly high damage output seems to be the new in thing.
I think Xenoblade has you doing hundreds right at the beginning of the game.
