The Switch is gonna sell like the Wii back in 2006
The Switch is gonna sell like the Wii back in 2006
I doubt it, but it will sell better than the WiiU
lol no
It would only outsell the gamecube
It hurts, sonybros ):
Nobody gives a shit about tablets anymore.
It'll flop like the Wii U.
Not gonna outsell the Gamecube. It won't even sell out the 2 million launch units. Nintendo still hasn't sold the 500k preorder units, even after blowing 20mil on that shitty superb owl ad that no one saw. They are so fucked it's not even funny anymore.
The Wii sold just shy of 13 million in its first year, but could have probably sold three or four times that amount.
They bumped up production for the following years, and shiften about 25 million two years in a row, which is all they could produce.
Then it rather quickly tapered off. It's pretty crazy, but if they had managed to keep up with demand, it might have beaten the PS2.
Ultimately: no. The Switch will not sell like that.
No, I predict it will sell more like the 3ds. Low sales most of this year then a price drop or some other major buying incentive right before the holiday season to kick it into high gear
This is the most out of touch comment I have read in years.
Delusion. It's only gonna sell better than the Gamecube
(You)
The wii sold about 3 million units in 2006. The switch has so far sold out on their 2 million existing units based on preorders, with fans clamoring for more. It's hard to say for certain pre-release, but the switch may actually sell like the wii if this trend continues
yeah nah
Ha
20-30 million lifetime before Nintendo caves in and finally go mobile.
That's actually enough profit and incentive to do it again as a mobile device.
So, supposed I'm a stinky normalfag.
Why would I buy it?
On the wii even my grandma could play and everybody thought it was cool because it was a new gimmick. What does this offer that even normalfags would value?
This seems to be more cattered to coopfags and gamers in general because of the portability.
If they slash the price by 50% like they effectively did with the 3ds then maybe. But there is no incentive for Nintendo to do that again. They will crash and burn if they do.
Being able to play FIFA and Skyrim on the go
The only ones out of touch are the drones who think the Switch is going to be a repeat of the Wii without bringing anything new to the table to capture the attention of the non-gamer demographic
It's 260usd in japan and still making a profit. I'm guessing their break even is somewhere between $190 and $220.
Nah, handheld market is rapidly shrinking. You either have to go mobile or console.
>Only four results on Kickstarter concerning Nintendo Switch
>Only two of them are games
I remember leading shortly after the Wii U launch, how KS projects would claw each to pieces over appealing to the starved new owners.
Maybe it'll be a thing again.
Keep dreaming, Tatsumi
1% of $118 Billion, is still over $1 Billion.
who cares, normalfags already could do this with the PSV (sports games) and they already play skyrim at home, if they play it.
normalfags get out of home to bang hoes or at least try, not to play games.
the portability is already in the market, it isn't something new that will attract normalfags.
yeah yeah
It's pretty out of touch to loudly proclaim that Switch won't sell through its launch units. Unless he's just baiting of course.
That's gross revenue, not profit
I, along with a lot of other people didn't even know the Vita existed, so it doesn't count, and the 3DS doesn't count because it's for children. There have also been consoles that have done motion control before the Wii, but that doesn't mean normies/casuals/term of choice didn't buy it for motion controls.
Which is still shared by 3DS and Vita. Vita is about 20 to 25% probably judging by hardware sales. Of course that chart is revenue comprising of digital sales, subscriptions, royalties, etc.
>Not gonna outsell the Gamecube. It won't even sell out the 2 million launch units. Nintendo still hasn't sold the 500k preorder units, even after blowing 20mil on that shitty superb owl ad that no one saw. They are so fucked it's not even funny anymore.
Enjoy reveling in LIES
>The wii sold about 3 million units in 2006
The wii launched a month before the end of 2006
Profits are overrated. The entire turnover at larger companies is accounted for before a year starts anyway.
Pre-orders are still available in most of unit, so the Switch hasn't even sold through its pre-order allocation. The US market has serious problems with scalpers and the people who buy multiple units because they want a backup so they don't have to deal with scalpers and the whole problem just feeds on itself
Not him but I also don't think he meant that it won't sell through its launch units, as in "ever". Just not at launch. There will be units available for anyone to buy by the end of March. I don't think there will be Wii or NES Mini-like shortages.
Its not the 3DS is for children, NINTENDO is for children.
And a bonus if girls think like that, normalfags would never try to disrupt the female tyranny.
"EEWW HE BROUGHT HIS NINTENDO"
40-50 mio lifetime sales, when games like pokemon, monhun will release for it and more japanese support from 3rds .
if it don´t get revisions like ds/3ds and is only 5 years here.
with them I think they can crack 60-70.
>still haven't sold the units
because they are not out yet?
So... yeah, how many of these does nintendo expect to sale til march 2018?
No, it's the DS/3DS, because they were almost exclusively played by children. The Wii was hot shit when it came out, remember?
>console sells more than its predecessor
>"welp, better pack it in boys"
If that's what he meant, he doesn't look super smart when structuring his reply the way he did.
And one should hope they did sell through the launch shipment before launch. That'd be terrible.
People who had seen the ads wouldn't actually be able to find the system on shelves at all.
They've forecasted 10 million units for year 1
20-30 million is less than half of 3DS. But 3DS itself lost 60% sales from DS.
It will only sell because people thought wii u was shit.
didn't*
I mean....
The Switch will easily do 100M by the end of its life cycle and both $ony and Micro$oft will be btfo.
DS also sold 25% more in six years than GameBoy and GameBoy Color combined sold in twelve.
So let's not assume the DS is their gold standard.
They seem to be pretty serious about 3DS getting its own successor
The budget handheld market is much bigger than the console and/or premium handheld market, just because handhelds are most practical for poor people to begin with
It'll probably sell closer to the 3DS tbqh due to MonHun and Pokemon alone provided Nintendo aren't stupid
>tfw you still unsure if you want to buy a switch or hold unto money
>tfw wife preorders it because you're too busy waffling about buying it
Still a decline no matter which one you're comparing.
does your wife sell sex for money?
I mean the idea is solid up until you realize the Switch won't be able to carry third part support over the next two years. Normies are flocking to Overwatch, CoD, Mass Effect, etc. and the likliehood of any of those games seeing the light of day isn't likely.
F
A budget handheld is the 3DS. If you want to group Switch into a new "premium handheld" category, then I would put the sales forecast to below Wii U numbers.
It needs to get below 150 in a hurry to sell anywhere near 3ds numbers.
Post nudes of your wife to compensate for the cash
She must learn a lesson in fiscal policy
I think the switch was originally intended to be the 3ds successor, but the wii shit the bed and all that had to change. It looks like the original plan was to unify development on a single 'platform' where different devices played the same games or at least had minimal porting.
It's true that the budget handheld market is bigger, but that is the one shrinking the most against mobileshit where games are 2 dollars instead of 40. That and the n3dsxl is 250 dollars, so it isn't exactly budget.
>I would put the sales forecast to below Wii U numbers.
I do
only way that is going to happen is if they priced it at $250 or below the current PS3 price. they fucked up hard
...
Don't think so.
If only because the Wii was a November launch.
Nintendo planned the Wii launch decisively better than the Switch launch.
*PS4
The current ps4 that plays games at silky smooth 30fps is 400 dollars.
How many n3ds have been sold?
DICKS AND CROWS
meant for
SWITCH IS NOT PORTABLE
You need a fucking bag to take it with yourself because its a tablet with 2 shit controllers which does not fit in the pocket. No reason to have it on the road when you have a phone already
You don't have cargo pants, user?
So laptops and ipads are not portable either?
Around 9 million as of last june.
>the portability is already in the market, it isn't something new that will attract normalfags.
The Vita only has weeb games and 3DS looks like a fucking childrens toy.
The Switch basically is what Nintendo wanted for gamecube, to be the ideal compact take anywhere console and I can see this doing really well with hardcore gamer communities and college kids since you can just take it and play it anywhere within a minute provided the battery doesnt get fucked and you have a charger and an available wall port around. Hell I guarantee if they have Melee VC with Online on first week it will sell like gangbusters with video game clubs around the entire world because of how beloved that fucking game is with turboautists and normalfags alike. Nintendo really have to try and fuck this one up when they have a perfect marketing scheme.
No im not autistic
>£48 for ONE GAME
>Costs more than ps4
W E W
For about 3 months.
Then it will sell like the Wiiu for the rest of its life time.
>cargo pants
>current year + 2
kek. get on with the times grandpa
You forget that Nintendo creates cellphone games now. They're going to earn more money than ever.
>he doesn't have a bag anyway
Why didn't anyone tell me?
>Why do you want nudes of my wife when there's already a sea of 10/10s on the internet?
Stop being a pussy and just do it.
They are not marketed as handheld consoles.
>current ps4
LOL. if you don't have a ps4 and you're planning to buy one most likely you'll buy the Uncharted 4 bundle which is at $250.
Yeah I already said they will go mobile.
The Wii U sold like the Wii for its first 3 months
Im not a weeb fag who want to be a woman
you sure you want to?
ok I'll bite
user, only one of these games is made by Nintendo
>price has a negative impact on how much I enjoy a product
Don't care dude.
Post thick, creamy thighs
This is how Switch owners look like. Handsome, fashionable, in touch with the latest technology and trends. Deal with it Sonyponies
The Switch is both handheld AND portable. Just because it can't fit in your pocket doesn't mean it isn't portable, you dipshit
They already have, user. Thus they don't need to go mobile. By creating a few cellphone games every now and then they'll make more money than god.
So one of their games is already huge in Korea. Don't forget that brand awareness is their real game, if people play their cellphone games they'll buy their consoles instead of a PS4 or Xbox. Nintendo can't lose now. They're going to dominate this generation.
Actually the rest of the world doesn't care about Nintendo IPs, except the US and Japan. You'll reach more audience on mobile of course but you'll just be treated the same as other f2p apps
mah nigga. I have a blue mailman's bag as well. classy af
>if people play their cellphone games they'll buy their consoles instead of a PS4 or Xbox
but that's not how it works
Dispatch to: Catherine Flick
DELET THIS!!
Huh, really makes you think.
Uncharted 4 sold 9 million, but that's not the point. Nintendo still only make sales in the US and Japan, but mostly in US. Mostly due to their reliance of only first party titles.
Was that before or after it came bundled with the system?
