Remember when it won Best Shooter and Best Multiplayer at The Game Awards ahead of Destiny TTK, COD: Black Ops 3, Halo 5 & Star Wars Battlefront?
Will it do the same again this year?

fuck off
Ironic considering what the pic says
What other shooters are coming out this year? CoD16?
Sure, why not. What other shooters are coming out this year? Borderlands 3 (maybe), CoD: Back to WWII, Battlefront 2 (with prequels hopefully, but probably just new trilogy), Crackdown 3, Destiny 2.
I feel like it won't win again, but who knows.
If it's really set in Vietnam it might not be so bad. Just old-fashioned running and gunning.
I remember before TGA 2015 NO one predicted that Splatoon would have won in either of its two categories cause they thought it was "too cartoony"
It's a fun game sucks that it has 3/10 single player and the servers for the first game will go down as soon as the new one is out.
Or maybe Nintendo will put in some decent AI so I can play solo games? Oh wait it's Nintendo they wont do that so the game is going to be dead come summer unless I buy a new console and Splatoon 2.
>the servers for the first game will go down as soon as the new one is out

Considering how much of a flop Battleborn was I highly doubt Gearbox has the revenue to release Borderlands 3 this year.
Splatoon was awesome and deserved the award, but despite my great love for the game, I feel like Splatoon 2 is a little too soon. It feels like I just played Splatoon 1, and the sequel doesn't look to bringing any sort of revolutionary change to the table. I mean, I'll still get it and enjoy it, but I don't think it will make waves like the first one did. Of course, we've seen relatively few details about it, so maybe there's still something big left in store. A hefty single-player experience would do it.
>Or maybe Nintendo will put in some decent AI so I can play solo games?
Considering the Switch is a handheld hybrid: meaning it won't always be connected to the internet, it's highly likely they'll do it this time.
A friend of mine does sound design at Gearbox, so I see shit he posts about work. They just moved into a giant new building, so that's another cash expense. No idea their financial state, though, and they could always just push it out the door to cash in on sequel recognition. It's not like Borderlands is any good anyway.
Splatoon is the kind of game a Nintendo console needs before it's on life support. It makes perfect sense to release it now.
The competitive community is in dire need of spectator mode and a real LAN option.
Games likely to be nominated for best multiplayer:
Splatoon 2
For Honor
Cod 2017
Sea of Thieves
Destiny 2
You tell me
I don't have anything to cite other than a sneaking suspicion that it's something that Nintendo would pull. It might not be right at launch of Splatoon 2 but I'm sure by the end of the year they'll quietly pull the plug on the Splatoon 1 servers.
Is it confirmed that Destiny 2 will release this year? There is almost no news about Destiny 2.
Actually did some digging and well I found some reason to be concerned least by 2019 or sooner.

So the Wii's online play was killed for everything about 1 1/2 years after the Wii U launch in 11/2012.
>mfw OP says the Ps4 sucks because it's popular, but conveniently ignores this to praise Splatoon
It's this console warring flame bait that reallly rumbles my timmies.
The Wii's online play was killed because Gamespy shut down.
