Is this the lowest point in the mainline Zelda series?

Is this the lowest point in the mainline Zelda series?

Zelda II

Yes

In brief detail I can summarize this game's controls as utter shit.

No, more like a midpoint that gets meme'd too hard. It's not even the worst 3D Zelda, let alone worst Zelda in general.

Fag.

No.

I loved SS, its my favorite 3D zelda

>Zelda II

Fucking 20 y/o normies don't know a good challenge outside Bloodbourne nowadays. Get fucking good at the game.

Wew lad, this site is 18 and older.

Its skyward sword even tho I kind of liked it. That game has big problems besides the controls. It was the first 3d zelda game where Ihalfway thru actually thought "I just want this to be over with now"

>In brief detail I can summarize this game's controls as utter shit.
Yeah, I played it for a good 4 hours until I couldn't take the bullshit controls anymore. From what I experience, it actually seemed a really great game. Soundtrack and visuals were great. Some quirky characters, too. But no, those fucking controls... what a waste of a game. I'm still pissed off about buying the collector's edition of this.

Nope and I'm tired of you faggots forcing this shit.

Nah, it was shit. Thankfully I had a Master System as well, so could play Wonderboy III which was clearly superior.

Did everyone forget Zelda cd-I was a thing and not just a cash cow meme?

>can't deal with a game that has accurate motion tracking
>but I'm too much of a bitch about Spirit Tracks' controls

FUCK DIS SITE

Welcome to Sup Forums. We don't enjoy games and hate the games you like.

>Spirit Tracks
Funnily enough, that's the worst 2D Zelda.

I don't know why Zelda II is considered so damn difficult when it's pretty reasonable compared to a lot of other NES games. It's hard for a Zelda game, but not much more.

Well Im 31
Still my favorite 3D Zelda. Loved how it was puzzle oriented and the difficulty was higher than normal
Also the item vendor girl is best girl in the series

It's still a great game, just not a great Zelda game.

That's not Breath of the Wild.
Skyward Sword is shit but at least it doesn't cut out parts of the game to sell them as DLC for $20 later on. That's just unforgivable.

>Phantom Hourglass
>Spirit Tracks
>Tri Force Heroes

Pick your poison.

TFH is a spinoff, and yeah Phantom Hourglass sucks but its position as a handheld title makes it a bit less offensive.

Skyward Sword was in development for fucking YEARS and somehow still turned out so bad.

>Difficulty is higher than normal

Unless you equate difficulty with losing a full heart from every attack that hits you the game isn't really difficult and even then you have any number of ways to just get your health back, especially if there's a convenient timeout chair nearby.
Every enemy moves slowly at you (doing an attack every once in a while) and you do your little swordswipe or occasionally pull out one item (Which you can't really use in active combat) according to what the enemy is telling you to do and hit them with it.
Any difficulty involved in this is artificially induced when the output =/= your input or at least that's my experience.

I'd also appreciate a puzzle oriented Zelda more if it didn't give away nearly every solution for free.

Oh I know its not really difficult, but its still harder than any other 3D Zelda which was nice.

It isn't though.
From what I know about it I'd say OoT is harder.
And the combat in SS isn't really harder than TP or WW (Even if the kind of HP you're going to lose in those from getting hit is tiny), just more punishing and what it's mostly punishing is the game's own motion control related input =/= output issues since openings are so generous.

I'll never get the appeal of the Zelda franchise.

Piss easy difficulty
Puzzles that maybe a 6 year old would consider hard

The best it has are the charscter design but even with that some games go full retard like OOT with Zora for example.

WW or TP

The game isn't even good you fat neckbeard

I think it's one of the best zeldas. People hate on Zelda until enough time passes and new users get exposed to it that wasn't exposed to the hype machine. Windwaker is great but people hated it for no reason for many years. Same with Majora's mask.

So you haven't played SS? Then how can you say?

I'm not the guy you're talking to but I have been playing all the mainline games before I get started on BOTW.

OOT isn't any harder than the games that came after it (sans WW). It's mostly perception based
Combat while still easy as fuck was marginally more difficult in SS since it relies more on swordplay than using items.

Windwaker was good but retards hated it and it created the abomination that is Twilight Princess

Oh, it's opposite day? Good job you pointed it out or I could've embarrassed myself. Cheers, user.

Yeah, although it's still a pretty decent game. The controls are a bit cumbersome and don't always work too well, and the game relies far too heavily on back tracking. However, the dungeons and going through the areas for the first time are pretty solid.

Yes, and I am forever pissed off it's the new origin for the series. Ocarina of Time should have always been the first in the timeline/lore, I don't know why they had to go further back in time.

Stop watching that queer chugga fag, you cock sucker.

I have played SS though (Until just a bit after tadtones because the game is so monotonously tedious).
I was referring to OoT, which I hadn't played.

The swordplay if it can be called swordplay is just matching whatever the enemy in front of you tells you to use when it walks up to you.
It's not harder than using items regularly.

nice ad hom

MAIN LINE

chuggaa is cool tho.

It had its high points

I respectfully disagree, if you play OOT I think you'll find that the simplification of combat doesn't make it any harder. It's just a matter of timing and using the right items.

Phantom Hourglass. The touch controls on the DS games weren't amazing, but I found Spirit Tracks to be playable. Spirit Tracks was basically an all-around improvement on Phantom Hourglass.

PH had drawing little circles on the edge of the screen to roll, in ST you just tap.

PH had an annoying temple you revisit and have to retread through, ST gives you a central staircase and teleporters.

PH had sailing even more boring that Wind waker, ST had what was basically a railway puzzle where you need to react to the hostile trains and find the safest and shortest route to your destination.

>Wonderboy III

if you think Zelda should be about story and puzzles then its one of the best entries in the series, while it was more linear and handholdy than other 3d zelda exactly how much more is over-exaggerated.

I think Zelda should be about story and puzzles and Skyward Sword is the worst Zelda game.

disgusting cuck

Not a good point.
You could say every game is shit if you compare to WB3.
