MGSV TPP

How would you make this game a perfect 10/10?

FINISH IT

Honestly, all it needed was a nice clean wrap-up.
Something to really bring the series full circle.
A short time-skipped cutscene or boss fight from MG1 or 2, bam, all it needed.

Remove the mission structure and make the game one long atmospheric adventure against the Soviet Union and the CIA. 4 Soviet special forces bosses on the same style as the Cobras(one stereotypical blond Russian, an Azerbaijani, a hot Ukrainian girl to please the waifufags etc) and the CIA can keep the Skulls.

Have the Diamong Dogs operate like the other PMCs and go into large battles and control territories.

The actual game feels like an Assassin's Creed game with MGS skins, outside of like 4 missions there is no atmosphere, even rescuing Kaz felt pretty bland.

It would have been fine if Kojima abandon it for Silent Hills halfway through.

He deserved to be fired bc of that

kojima didn't abandon*

Add the cut mission, add more interior stealth missions and add final bossfight against Solid that you can't win

Even though the game mechanics felt pretty lacking in narrow interiors, those were still some of the best moments in the game.

All the Truth tapes become cutscenes
Show Zero
Add mission(s) with Solid and Liquid
Add more bases like Camp Omega and OKB Zero
Make OKB Zero more interesting by adding a large interior base
Make the targets of every mission mean something to the story, move the generic soldier elimination missions to side ops
Add more dedicated location missions like the hospital
Add large scale conflicts in the open world and a somewhat intact city without civilians like MGS4.

A team of super powered guys that act as bosses through-out the game

How about actually focusing on BB doing some fucked up shit? And no Kojima's retarded 2deep4u shit doesn't count.

Finish Chapter 2, add Chapter 3, and be able to take a helicopter ride to another mission without having to go back to the mission menu at the base

First of all I would cut all the chaff, MGSV is like 80 hours long for fuck's sake, it didn't even need to be 1/4 that long compared to the previous games in the series. I would definitely cut the entirety of Chapter 2 (even though I personally enjoyed the challenge missions, they should have been entirely optional). I would cut the whole open world meme thing, and just make large, open-ended levels like Ground Zeroes. Maybe 10-15 of those levels. I would change the Side Ops to be more like GZ too. Graphics and gameplay are already 10/10 so no tweaks needed, although they would undoubtedly be better with the smaller scale game. I thought the story was fine personally but I would add in more stuff from the lore that was omitted from the game. I would cut the MGS2-but-worse twist, it added nothing to the game. Also finish Chapter 3 and have the game perfectly lead into MG1/MGS1.

One thing I really liked about the game was its length. I spent a good portion of my summer on that fucker. Good memories.

Also the one hour long intro level was fucking brilliant.

I liked the game a lot more than the general consensus but there's no denying that we're all missing out on like half of the story due to that length. Plus a lot of the missions were just shit, like the one where you have to kill a million vehicles, or the one where you have to stealth around three bases listening to some guards talking gibberish.

Finish the game. Make the story missions more story related instead of mostly filler. Add coop so we can dick around with a friend.

Story wise
>Cut all that Venom shit out and make BB actually do shady as fuck shit like use child soilders or start wars in Africa for personal gain (hell you can even make a twist where BB masks it all as "revenge" but in fact he's only out for himself. Something that'll piss of Kaz and make a good reverse on PW)
>Show Zero putting the patriots into motion. Things like changing the media and influncing the cold war for more control
>Keep Ocelot inside Afghan doing stuff with the Russian guy from MGS2 and use him only as a cameo. A good boss fight if you need to.
>Set the game over a span of 10 years and end it in the 90's
>Remove quiet
>Remove codetalker
>Remove parasites
>USE REAL GUNS
>Get HGW creating the soundtrack rather than a producer

Gameplay wise
>If you really really want to keep it open world, use hubs instead of an open map. Like little zones of Camp Omega and no revisting (unless its backtracking)
>Remove base building shit, grinding and fultons
>Keep the store system so long as it's like Drebins shit from 4
>Take silencers off sniper rifles. Made the game inbalanced as shit.
>Make the tranq like it was in GZ with a shit drop off range to encorage lethal playthroughs

>Cut all that Venom shit out and make BB actually do shady as fuck shit like use child soilders or start wars in Africa for personal gain (hell you can even make a twist where BB masks it all as "revenge" but in fact he's only out for himself. >a bloo bloo bloo why wasn't it Metal Gear Solid V: Revenge of the Sith

neck yourself as soon as possible my man

>the one where you have to stealth around three bases listening to some guards talking gibberish.

For some reason i had lots of fun in this mission and managed to get a S ranking despite being clunky as fuck.

Tapes are now either flashbacks or cutscenes; silly tapes become codec conversations for live reactions of big medic

If you have a big ass fucking open world with nothing in it, at least put some secrets here and there, or create very difficult missions/tasks to obtain key items that would unlock some sick stuff; maybe easter eggs, or maybe stages where you get to learn more about the characters

Add a proper ending, and cut that shit of "well chapter 2 is pretty much the same stuff that you did but a bit harder", that completely kills the atmosphere/immersion of the story

The game's length is fine and the TPS gameplay is second to none; approaches are incredibly varied (if you're not a closed minded individual) and the game is full of little details

This was my personal biggest disappointment of my gaming life, yet it still won't fall below a 9.5/10 merely by gameplay and production values

On a fundamental level the game doesn't appeal much to me. I miss and prefer the classic Metal Gear gameplay style. If I had to preserve MGSV's structure and mechanics, I'd add some variety to its missions and maybe toss in a couple more densely structured areas.

The exclusion of Mission 51 is unfortunate and a little strange, but I don't really care about the story that much. Having more Big Boss prequels was a pretty stupid idea to begin with.
I'd say it does bring it full circle, not that it's necessary to anyway. The scene with Venom and the mirror is the wrap-up.

All they needed to do was give the game a proper ending, or at least show what triggered Venom's recollection of the real events the day he woke up.

Get rid of that drunk hack Sutherland.

>Remove the mission structure and make the game one long atmospheric adventure

I don't personally agree with the rest of your post but this first part right here would do a ton to make the game better. I initially kept myself in the dark so this is what I was expecting when I first loaded it up but instead what I got was a laundry list of repetitive, isolated missions that made me feel like I was playing MGS VR Missions, just with textures. Get rid of Mother base altogether. Then just have one solid break between Afghanistan and Africa, in the same manner as how Snake Eater broke up the first and second half.

making it a perfect 10/10, a conventional video game, would work against the overall message and purpose. i don't think i'd want to do that.

honestly it really just needed no open world, just make it 4-5 Camp Omega sized maps. and co-op, instead of MGO which sucked.

Does it really matter? What matters is that he did and Big Boss, whether Big Boss triggers it or not, sends him a message about it.

True, but for it to be a perfect 10 for me I would have liked this, or at least a little bit more context before the ending is just dropped out of nowhere. Still my GOTY 2015 tho

Give Kojima all the time and money he needs to finish it.

>Add more dedicated location missions like the hospital
hospital was in cyprus you duumb ass not in mudslime land

It would require pretty much designing and rebuilding the whole thing from the ground up. In other words, not realistically possible and I can't be assed to write even a fraction of it here.

But even in the game that we did get, CO-OP would have excused a lot.

>20x as many enemies
>more ttk in multiplayer + larger maps and less cod style spawning
>exchange trash invisiblity for mgs4 camo or just make invisible actually invisible

In a general sense, what would you have preferred the game to be?
