Not launching with a pokemon game

>not launching with a pokemon game

I thought they wanted it to succeed...

yeah don't they know that every successful console ever only succeeded because it had pokemon at launch

No console has ever been launched with a Pokemon game and most have been successful, plus Sun/Moon are still selling like crazy and they'd be retarded to cut into those sales.

Launching in march. $300. No must have have titles. Overpriced accessories. Suddenly deciding to charge for online after offering free online for eleven years.

They want it to fail.

Take away Zelda and this thing is suddenly dead on arrival.

don't take away zelda then
even if you did it has like 4 heavy hitters in its first year. lots of successful consoles aren't popular right out the gate, look at the DS

>Launching in March
Why is this bad? Early adopters who are crazy Nintendrones pick one up in a weird shopping month and then during the holiday season people don't have to compete with hardcore autists trying to get one on day one.

What are the top games you're looking at?

Mario does look good. Zelda is popular. What do you feel are the other games that will legit move systems in 2017?

mario kart and splatoon, both really popular games. arms might even have a small chance of selling systems too if it takes off like splatoon

this

by Christmas there will already be a great catalogue of games PLUS Mario Odyssey, and it's almost inevitable that there will be a Christmas bundle with either ARMS, Spla2n or Mario Kart in it

it will do small but respectable business through 2016 and go gangbusters at Christmas

>not launching with a waverace game that uses both joycons as a handle

I thought they wanted it to succeed

it's 2017 get with the times

They released the 3ds in march for $250 and it would so poorly it for a $50 price drop by that fall.
Even releasing it in may or June would be better. Because kids are out of school.

I'm afraid Wave Race has the Metroid syndrome. They tried to make it more popular, in this case by making it look more EXXXTREME, and not only did they fail, but they turned off fans of the previous game too.

first party:
Zelda
MK8D
ARMS
Splatoon 2
Bomberman
Fire Emblem Warriors
Xenoblade 2

by Christmas it will also have these as third party:
Project Sonic / Sonic Mania
Skyrim
Fifa 18
NBA 2k18
Ultra SF2
Redout
Dragonball Xeno 2
and dozens of indies

It's a soft launch. It worked for the 3DS in the long run, and it worked for the PS2 too.

Why is the month it releases so critical? So long as it's advertised well, the people that don't pick it up when it launches will still know it's available when they'd be willing to buy it.

Splatoon alone will move millions of units. I can't believe how you people keep underestimating how good and popular it is. And what's more, Splatoon selling millions in Japan will in turn make Japanese devs to make more games for the system.

All I wanted was a Mario maker port at launch.

stop parroting that autistic retard arlo. it's nothing resembling a "soft" anything when it's launching with the biggest zelda game ever and a bunch of games leading up to christmas. if that's soft then almost literally every console ever was soft

Nintendo would never launch a main pokemon game on a home console.
Maybe if You're lucky you'll get Pokemon Colosseum HD remaster at best.
Do you guys realize nintendo will release a propper 3ds succesor down the line, right?

>the biggest zelda game ever
Sure, but it's just a port, though. The big game is Mario Odyssey, and that's a holiday game.

>Bomberman
>Fire Emblem Warriors
>first party
retard

>Nintendo would never launch a main pokemon game on a home console.
But the Switch is a handheld too.

>Do you guys realize nintendo will release a propper 3ds succesor down the line, right?
Sure, a handheld only Switch.

Nintendo is the reason Bomberman R exists at all, you fool. It's a collaboration.

it's a simultaneous release jackass, like Twilight princess on the wii and gamecube. mario kart and splatoon will sell more than mario.

so? neither of them are first party games still. do you think bayonetta is first party?

Haha you retards gonna get Rekt so hard...

Splatoon will sell a fuckton, sure, but no more than Mario. Mario Kart 8, maybe, but you have to take into account the fact that a good chunk of the people that already bought the Wii U version back in the day won't be rebuying it.
Still, Odyssey's trailer has almost 14 million views in youtube already. That's insane.

Technically no, but if the first party is the one footing the bill and therefore they have an exclusivity deal, it may as well be.
Same thing with FE. It's developed by a third party and the regular games by a second party, but the IP belongs to Nintendo.

Good arguments.

Wave Race is deader than F-Zero

I think that's second party but he's being a obtuse dick so....

>no more Wave Race
>no more 1080

WORK YA BODY W-WORK YA BODY

>no more 1080
Well, everybody is loving Link's shieldboarding in BotW, so I think that has higher chances of coming back.
