Those were all just specific screen shots from comparisons but it does perform better across the board. Though mot enough to warrant a purchase id say. The CPU limitation was a mistake as that is what was really needed.

No it's not ffs. It's rendered at 4K but with part of the info filled in by an algorithm that pulls it from a previous frame. It's not the same as upscaling. Upscaling stretches pixels out, checkerboard rendering does not.

The actual reason was to compete with the Nintendo NX.

If Sony and Microsoft allowed Nintendo to start a new generation on it's own, Nintendo would get a huge advantage from the fact that its console would have technology years ahead of its competitors and the console audience would be really for something new. If Nintendo released the most powerful console ever it could really screw over Sony and Microsoft, so they needed to do something to compete.

Of course, Nintendo decided to release $290 HDMI port and a $10 tablet, so it was a bit redundant.

Nintendo has always put underpowered hardware for more than ten years, there's no reason Sony would think Nintendo would start now. They just wanted free money riding on 4k and VR memes. Turns out consumers aren't as stupid as they thought.

I was going to purchase a ps4 but I held back because I wanted to see how ps4 pro was going to be, but it looks like the latter is just not worth it, I'm never going to buy a 4k TV anyway and I see no real advantage in getting a pro.

nigger, my i5 3550 + r9 380 4g setup can handle almost every game at 60fps in FHD, if I setup the graphics as it is on ps4 pro. Just shut the fuck up.

The only way to make PS4 run games at 60 fps is to make a hardware solution that shocks the art director on the balls every time the game runs under 60.

Otherwise no matter how powerful the system is, the game will run under 30 because he will want to add 10 more piss filters and lens flares.

Actually, PC only get to run things at 60 fps because it is not the primary target and low end PCs are a thing.

If someday you get this standardized high end PC that 30+ million people have, you can bet you bottom dollar it will run games at 30 fps as well.

Also 60fps on base PS4 at a slightly lower resolution, so not really that impressive.
