thats actually path of exile

It's getting 6 new acts of content this summer.

P2W tabs

>Start playing
>Have fun
>Decide I'm gonna check the interweb to make my character better
"If you didn't follow this exact, very precise way of building your char, then it's basically garbage"
>Realize it's no fun allowed
>Lose all will to play

at least you're not Path of Exile

>optional convenience
>P2W

I put in like 300 hours every league, what's a few dollars for stash tabs.

Your DLC was nice but expensive

>Can easily fill 4 tabs with 1 hours worth of mapping
>Have to either not pick up stuff or pay up

Might actually be decent now that they get rid of the difficulties.

Who thought it was a good idea to run the game through 3 times? Even Diablo 3 fell into that trap until they came to their senses.

>b-but muh Diablo 2

>not pick stuff up
Mate, the less garbage you pick up, the more currency you're making anyway with time saved.

>"If you didn't follow this exact, very precise way of building your char, then it's basically garbage"
This is not true but it is very easy to fuck up your character as a new player.

Once you fall down the rabbit hole it becomes about how efficiently you can abuse the limited passive points to make the most interesting and OP shit possible. I still come up with a build or two each league that nobody else has done (or atleast shared online) before.

Be prepared to pay up to $7.50 for a tab to hold your currency.

It doesn't work that way at all. If you looked at a build guide then no shit it's going to tell you to spec in some specific way, that is the point of a guide.

Despite what your collector's mentality tells you, you don't need 3 rows of portal scrolls and 5 rows or alt orbs. Even if you're unwilling to trade, master recipes are there for a reason.

>Caring about other peoples opinion while playing games.

If you enjoy it, why bother to give a shit?

>currency tab
>optional

You know how I know you don't have a single character over level 70?

Exalts only stack to 10, friend

I have 7 characters over level 80, in fact. 5 at 90, one at 91.

I bought tabs after playing the game for two leagues. The game is entirely playable without them.

That's the next patch or 3.0.

March 3 is 2.6 with a new league but no new acts.

Know that you'll have to use a third party website to find anything but the most generic items to trade, and that website has been the target of DDoS attacks before.

I've been playing since before Shadow was a thing and I don't have any stash tabs.

If you actually run out of space for exalts, you can already afford everything your characters could ever need. What's the problem again?

And you can RMT them to get a currency tab.

But on these guides, they tell you it's the single one good way to play these games.

Is that supposed to be a reason to stop accumulating wealth?

and diablo 3 is getting... a new class you have to pay for... woo

The guides are that person's way of building that character.

There's usually a dozen guides for whatever popular build.

Yes. It's all going into standard limbo in a few weeks anyway, so why care? The point of the game is to clear all the content, not to watch currency numbers grow.

If you don't buy at least one premium stash tab you'll have to use a third party program or manually maintain a list of items on their forum that you are offering for trade.

Since it's a F2P game chinese bots spam the public channels with RMT websites.

More like they're the must have one time purchase inorder to continue playing after your first few days.

Sort of like having a free trial and then having to buy the game.

>Having global on

but you had fun user
you can still have fun regardless of what that person said online

>not moving up 1 Global channel over and over til those messages stop

He's probably one of those deranged creatures that actually plays on standard.

GGG fucking those degenerate autists by re-releasing legacy uniques is the best news in a long time.

There posters on their general are so reddit that they don't even know how to reply to posts. It's just a big sea of comments without reply chains.

Diablo > Path of Exile

How is that reddit though? Reddit has clear reply chains.

>spam one viable skill per character; the game
if only this wasn't the case, it might be fun

When I tried to play summoner, I literally ran out of hotkeys and gem equipment slots.

>Might actually be decent now that they get rid of the difficulties.

Link source? That sounds so much better.

youtube.com/watch?v=YFAPw_F3jyg

The difficulties will be embedded into the progression unless they intend to rescale every resistance item in the game.

Rreally? Because when I tried playing summoner all I did was spam zombies and skeeletons with and occasional freeze spell, and have them win for me.

I keep coming back to it. I have 920 hours now.
I've never made it past cruel.

Damn man. What a great developer. (besides charging obscene amounts for cosmetics)

Diablo 3 is better desu.

Besides P2W tabs.

This has got to be bait

>Zombie
>Skelly
>Specter
>Golem
>Warcry
>Offering
>That corpse making spell
>Auras
There's a lot going on for a non-SRS summoner. It might not be the meta clearspeed option, but it's fun and busy.

How th fuck do you make currency in this game? I had the luck of having an exalted orb drop on me years ago but that was it. Every unique that drops is worth like 1 alchemy and farming ledge will take months

Spectre summoners are pretty good, but spectre raising is bad.

You don't farm regular zones for good shit.
You farm "maps" which is end game tier.

Any news on trading improvements, or are they still relying on a random 3rd party website for their entire trade system?

thats the point, the one gg 50 ex item you found is one of the yellows you left unid'd on the ground

I don't play fotm stuff and most of the joy I get from diablo clones is from finding upgrades so I don't trade. Also I really like RF and I level with it.

>You farm "maps" which is end game tier.
Never got to that point cuz all the builds that i've followed require expensive gear and expensive gears requires currency so yea

>slow ass gameplay
>confusing, convoluted, reddit-tier skilltree
>outrageously low droprate on legendaries
>barely 100k players when diablo 3 has millions
>pay to win cash shop
>has a hard level cap unlike d3
>has the most cancerous general on all of /vg/
>no auction house
>no paladin class

nah i think i'll stick to diablo t b h

this

>quad tabs
>currency stash tab which stacks every currency to 5 thousand in one slot while normally it's 10~30 per slot

only GGG cucks (reddit) deny this

They are just a small indie developer making an Xbox One game, they don't have the resources to add decent trading in three years.

>post is okay
>mentions d3 in a positive light
into the trash you go

>>no auction house
poe.trade/

Direct me towards a guide where the author actually says that, because I have yet to see one. Regardless, why would you put so much weight on what some random guy on the internet says? Just play how you want.

Its okay user, I wouldnt get past cruel either if I levelled RF.
Still, I'd recommend using some other skills once in a while, spells are really good if you dont trade.

Well then you farm "lake" if anything.
Learn what gear sells for a lot, pick up all currency items like alchemies etc.

You can't really fit all of the summoner's arsenal. You gotta specialize a bit.

>third party website unaffiliated with the devs who have been proven to manipulate prices for their own personal gain

seriously? are you kidding me right now? seriously??

They will.

The key difference is that you don't have to complete the game 3 times to get to maps.

How do they manipulate the prices? so far I've got everything that I wanted for cheap

Don't reply to that.

They create a bunch of accounts and list items for less than the market rate, hoping to manipulate low-information players into listing their items at equal or lower values. Then their bot alerts them of a new listing and they immediately buy it.
If you try to buy from the fake listings they'll just ignore you.

This, but I was willing to play and buy a few if I got really into the game but I got bored by time I was in Act II, also the online is just as bad as Diablo III, rush the fucking objective, don't pick up anything, you get left behind and you get banned.

>playing multiplayer with people you don't know before maps

You either learn how to path of economy or get lucky

The economy of the game is by far the worst part of it. All the scamming and 'flipping' and gouging and price setting and RMT-driven bullshit stops you from having the freedom of builds that would make the game great. Want to play a cool low life build? Well that's 10 exalts starting budget, bro, which you can grind three weeks for or you can be a complete scumbag prick for and scam some people.

I also like how the community defends the kind of economic practices in the game which are completely illegal in real life.

As soon as SSF gets introduced I'm turning it on and never looking back.

Well, playing popular builds usually means you'll have to pay extra seeing as lots of people want the same items as you
Also, you should always play the temporary leagues as those haven't been destroyed by inflation and even the uncommon orbs are worth enough to get decent upgrades
But yea, RMT is still an issue, that can't be denied

>No boosted droprates to compensate

have fun

>Also, you should always play the temporary leagues as those haven't been destroyed by inflation and even the uncommon orbs are worth enough to get decent upgrades

Well, I created a new char in standrad because I already had currency there from over a year ago. Should I have gone to breach anyway?

Well breach is kind of done. Have fun in standard for ten days and then get into legacy.

>and then get into legacy.
How does that work? Will I drop from standard to legacy or something?

On a recent interview the head duud said that they're working on it but they haven't found a solution they like so that's why it's been so quiet.

Depending on when you last played they've added trading functionality to premium stash tabs which makes listing your items easy as fuck.

Standard = permanent characters, no perma death
Hardcore leagues: character goes to standard on death or when the league closes

Yes you freaking should
Every single piece of rare equipment in standard with a decent life mod and good elemental resistances is several chaos orbs and in breach a couple of alchs is usually enough to get the same stuff
Cost me less in breach to buy my belt and gloves both with over 80% resistances and 70 life each than it did to get a shitty turquoise amulet with 70% resistances and no life mod
On top of that, leagues specific uniques usually go up in price when the league is over because they stop being obtainable, and breach had some really good and valuable uniques

>>barely 100k players when diablo 3 has millions
Diablo caps out at like a few thousand each season and most of those people leave after the first two days.

Sure it sold millions but it gets literally no support from Blizzard nowadays and there's no point in playing the new seasons because there's nothing new

I understand how hardcore works but you said

> Have fun in standard for ten days and then get into legacy.

What's legacy?

Its the new hardcore league coming out in 10 days. Also im not the guy that said have fun

New league coming up that drops stones which you can "activate" to experience old league mechanics again

You don't start out with a build that needs expensive items to do good unless you know how to make currency.

I love the call of duty series. Battlefield is for tryhards.

The replacement for breach.

>Yes you freaking should
but it ends in 10 days

>The economy of the game is by far the worst part of it.
The current trading system collapsed under the amount of players the game gets nowadays.

A year or two ago it was nearly non existant.

Holy shit, really?

>SSF
>without increase of droprate
>without smart loot

no thank you

When a new league starts the old one gets rolled into standard.

Legacy is the new league.

Breach is the current one ending in a week or so.

Unless you want to try to make it for Breach challenge goals then don't make a character in Breach anymore.

It's the only multiplayer videogame to have developers fixed one of its downright gamebreaking bugs that seriously decreased the enjoyment you could get out of it. That's about the only nice thing I can say about this game, really.

You asked "should have gone", and yes "you freaking should" BACK THEN
At this point it's too late though
Even if you absolutely no-lifed you probably would only be able to, at most, rack up some currency to buy a couple of the cheaper breach uniques
