Sup Forums inexplicably loves monster hunter and doesn't want ot admit that this game is better than monster hunter in almost every possible way. The enemies are actually complex and challenging as opposed to being giant damage sponge. The narrative and characters are enthralling and unique as opposed to functionally nonexistent. The world is lush and provides for countless ways for the player to interact and immerse with the environments. The gameplay is varied and visceral, giving the player the freedom to pursue their own unique way to play the game.

The game is legitimately amazing, even generation defining, and Sup Forums is upset because in so doing it makes their beloved game, monster hunter, look like the clunky, dated, mess it is

Wrong, the fog is only there when appropriate in context. The lush forests of this game logically produce fog as they do in real life as well.

I've never understood the autistic hate of photo mode in any game.

The reason why people hate this game is because it's an everyman game, it isn't filling a niche like Yakuza nor is trying to be a skill based game like Nioh or Souls. It's the type of game where you can sit back, let your hair down, explore a beautiful world for 40+ hours and still have some action robot hunting style gameplay that isn't as simplistic as Zelda but satifies enough for a fun gaming session.

It's really a standard AAA game with some interesting frills but the thing is Sup Forums secretly loves these types of AAA games, PC users have been trying to justify their $600 cards with them for the last 7 years and their favourite game is Witcher 3 which is literally a 100+ hour cinematic fetch and trail quest simulator. Aside from the SJW shit that is obviously in Horizon, Sup Forums has decided to hate this particular AAA game despite liking them simply because it's on console and getting great reviews.

You'll find a lot of insecure poorfags and Sup Forumstards in these threads who think they are sticking to the big SJW overlords by shitting on it. They are also desperate to justify their gaming habits and platforms and seek validation for shitting on this game because it's an easy target. A lot of PC, Xbox, Nintendo and autistic Japanese-game-only Sony fanboys have basically banded together and decided this is the game that they want to fail because it looks fun and they can't stand the idea of enjoying themselves because they are insecure and think this devalues them as a gamer so they try fit in with the 'in-crowd'.

The truth is most of the people in these threads have low standards for games, they will play games that literally contradict every single thing they say in these threads in their private time but simply come on here to be memetastic hypocritical contrarians and spew hate. I for one am not allergic to having fun nor do I feel the need to adhere to social norms or popular opinions, once I beat Nioh I'll be enjoying this game while retards stay assmad...

It's called volumetric fog user. That's a tech which requires a lot of performance. You can see it in Farcry primal and in Watch dogs 2 for exemple.
Even the creators of tw3 didn't want to use it, since it's "too much demanding".

The game is shit, deal with it.

No, its literally a pause screen. It just pauses the world and lets you rotate around instantly. There is no buffering so it can load assets that don't exist in real time gameplay.

The only setting any of the photo modes has that can constitute as bullshot, and you have to go over to it and mess with it to get the intended shit.

It seems we underestimated the PS4/Pro and Horizon Zero Dawn. Most of us assumed the game would be shit, but the reviews are telling an extremely different story.. Even worse, we assumed the game would get downgraded graphically, like most console games do. We were wrong.. as it stands, it's the best looking game on the market right now.

I believe we need to begin spreading misinformation on all the forums and social media we have. We need to say the game is bad looking, buggy, with boring characters and gameplay. We can't let the sonyggers win this one. This should have been our game, but the morons that develop games are attracted to these piss consoles...

Photo mode does load in higher detail assets & textures though? Photo mode immediately looks better, the moment you switch to it.
