Fire Emblem thread without talking about Heroes
Shadows of Valentia is coming out soon. Hopeful for it? Been playing any of the older FE games (pre 3DS)?

I'm playing Genealogy of the Holy War
I'm really liking it, even though for how big it is, playing without save-scumming from time to time would be too much
I'm on chapter 4 and hearing from the villagers how much Arvis and a "certaing girl" are in love is making me feel like shit
While FE4 is great I can't really replay it. Hoping for the remake with the paring system so I don't have to waste so much time just inching across the map for support.
Replaying FE Fates Conquest on hard, not sure what to do with FE games really after finishing it all on lunatic no deaths
Usually go for a randomizer but cant do the fates one since my 3ds isnt hacked
Maybe I'll go for the GBA trio and randomize their playthroughs
Pretty excited for SoV, i feel like it will be the freshest take on FE the west will have yet
also
is that fourth villager you get that they added an excuse to sneak an MU in or what?
Playing fire emblem 7 for the first time. How many chapters are there?
quite a few if you plan to do the other story modes you unlock later
i like the gameplay, and the unit variety, but i feel like often the story gets wordswordswords in the way, and that if you dont play certain ones that you have to emulate, you're just missing shit anyway
why don't you fuck off to /vg/ with your shitty recurring threads
Someone recommended it as a good first intro to fire emblem. What fe should I be playing instead?
>if you dont play certain ones that you have to emulate, you're just missing shit anyway
You're literally not though, unless you realllllly want to play the Jugdral continuity, which is the only one we dont have
We have every Tellius game
we have FE7 for Elibe which is all that matters because retcon
we have Shadow Dragon and Awakening/Fates for Archanea
and we're getting the remake of the Valentian saga with SoV soon
they're right, it is though
play it, beat it, whatevs, then if you liked it play Sacred Stones next
and then if you want more, Path of Radiance and Radiant dawn respectively, which will be pretty fucking fresh because Ike and beast classes 'n shiet
Lyn's chapter is the best tutorial you can really get in Fire Emblem. And because of it you really should play it first because going from any other FE to FE7 feels like a drag.
Playing FE7 right now. just got to chp 15, and Lowell is turning out pretty good. Still might drop him for Sain when I get him back though.
why are wil and rebecca so shit jesus christ
>Why are archers shit in FE
They were always shit. Putting them in the triangle in Fates is the best thing they ever did to them
In FE2 they have a 1-5 range.
>1-5 range
I bet they're still shit in that game too.
>I'm on chapter 4 and hearing from the villagers how much Arvis and a "certaing girl" are in love is making me feel like shit
Sigurd gets NTRed. I'm not memeing.
I wish those douchebags would just remake 4 and 5 already. At least Echoes now means they've remade 1, 2 and 3, so MAYBE some damn day.
Or at the very least just give us eshop ports with official English translations finally, because the fan translations for 4 and 5 are complete ass.
>Fan translation for 4
You do know that they made a new patch for it right? Project Naga, look it up.
But yes 4/5 really does need a remake. 4 desperately wants the Pair Up system.
I hope they end up remaking 6/7 too.
Almost sure FE4 is next after the mainline. I can see them coming one once a year. Remake, Mainline, Remake, Mainline. Now if that's a good thing or bad thing I have no idea with how IS is now handling FE...
>never played a fire emblem game before
>pick up the GBA one just called fire emblem
>play through a good 10 or so missions
>it's fun but nothing exceptional really
>finish up lyn's story
>move on to a new guy
>gets a bit more difficult, which is cool
>have to start rationing out weapons, which is just a chore and not cool
meh. Call me casual if you want but the already slow pace of the game is just turned into a crawl by having to do that shit, and visit specific areas with specific characters, and other dumb shit.
I've heard about Naga but not played it yet because I had a few people tell me it's only slightly less incoherent than the old one.
Is it actually decent?
There should be separate threads for Fire Emblem and nu-Fire Emblem (3DS games, Heroes, Mirage Sessions etc)
Its pretty decent yes.
Are you throwing Hector at everything like you should be? If you want the game to progress faster just dump him in the middle of the enemy and watch him end them.
Oswin is great too
>Nearly maxed Speed on him
Death too all!
Hector Oswin and Raven are generally all you need to carry you through the game, especially in Hard Mode where Raven gets those sweet boosts.
3DS is fine and so is the new games (Echos, Warrior, and whatever the newer one coming out next year). It's just Heroes that is taking things to an annoying level. As long as that is in their own thread people can just have fun talking about some of the nice additions 3DS made like paring and adding the weapons to the triangle and taking away durability which I like but they really need to change how it works because the penalties made it so that I never once used anything past Iron.
