Wow, I mean, what happened?
Wow, I mean, what happened?
Its fun until you realise how fucking basic it is
i got tired of looking for Ciri
Really?
Because I beat spin2win oni I and I'm still not having fun
Awesome combat mechanics buried under huge piles of tedious shit.
Quality game somewhat hampered by lack of development budget.
>lack of development budget
How long was this game in development again? Wasn't it supposed to be a PS3 launch title lol?
the bosses are decent, i enjoyed it for a while but it's starting to lose appeal.
There is very little enemy variety, the areas are blandly designed, the story is nothing to gag over.
Even Dark Souls 2 helds more appeal all the way through. Goes to show the difference of caliber between fromsoft and team ninja.
This version's been in development since late 2012.
Playing through the game, it's blatantly clear Team Ninja have had to cut a lot of corners. Hell, KT couldn't even afford to publish the game themselves to the level they wanted overseas and had to approach Sony for help.
It's pretty good. I don't know what people were expecting but it's an excellent budget title.
>Mediocre level design that thinks its clever by having you find shortcuts right next to shrines
>Same 10 enemies copy and pasted throughout the whole game
>Loot system means exploration is pointless as you will never find a cool or interesting item in a nook or cranny off the beaten path
The combat feels great though, so it's got that going for it.
maybe Nioh 2 will have a budget?
Y'all know how's it going sales wise?
people were expecting what they played in the alpha/beta
only 75k sold in japan the first week, though japan always hated the game
no idea about western sales
75k was 90% of its shipment according to Media Creates. They've extended the duration of the Yukimura DLC because people were bitching to KT that they couldn't find a copy of it.
In the West, it seems to have done okay as well. In the US, Walmart and Amazon both sold out all their stock, and people across the PAL regions are saying it's becoming quite hard to find copies.
>No enemy variety
>Same shit labyrinthy level design every single level, no sense of place
>Visually levels are shit too, 3 or 4 assets reused throughout entire levels
>Completely unnecessary systems piled on top of each other like prestige trees, soul matching, reforging and so on
They should've spent the time on making more different enemies instead of designing 50 different affixes for weapons and armor. The combat itself is fun, but i don't ever get to take advantage of it outside of boss fights. Enemies are easily exploited and you can exploit them the same way every single time. It's like they designed the gameplay mechanics and the enemies as 2 seperate games and then just spliced them together.
Every level just feels like the same at this point and i'm pretty bored outside of boss fights.
The combat is very in depth but the game is not, it's really unfortunate.
The tedious loot system is also kind of a mess, having to rely on rare drops and shit. They should have made it more like Monster Hunter or something where you get the blueprints for weapons and armor and then go out to get the materials to make them. The way it is it's just not worth the trouble.
At least the gameplay is enjoyable. God knows it beats Arkham style combat
Awesome combat mechanics
Why is everyone using the same stance then ?
People are lame shitters. BB and Souls games at least punish you for being a lame shitter but Nioh plays too nice.
The yasakani magatama grind is too much for me
This. Also Triss a best
t. conqured
Lack of enemy variety, the three giant bosses are monotonous, game felt like it was dragging on after a while, combat got kind of repetitive, endgame is just a grind for the best gear to be prepared for PVP, lack of build variety. Other than that, it was alright.
One thing that fucked with me during my playthrough is that I treated dodges like Bloodborne, thinking I could just iframe through attacks instead of avoiding them entirely.
I hope they make a PC port and work on a sequel.
Pretty confident it'd give them some good extra-sales on steam.
