They are if you want longevity, I know you can buy a sub $100 CPU and get decent framerates but it really hurts the lifespan of your system, from a usefulness point of view.

I hope it's good. I am about to come into a little extra cash and am looking to build a new system but with Ryzen coming up I feel like I should wait because even if they don't put up anything that outright beats Intel's offers hopefully it at least is competitive enough to get the prices to come down. Either way I feel like building a PC anytime this year is a waste of fucking money. Hoping AM4 isn't as shit of an investment at least though.
