What are the biggest video game regrets for you?
Any games you bought but ended up hating instantly / not playing them any more almost right away?
What are your biggest buyer's remorse titles?

Street fighter V would've been fun if I could connect to the servers
That's another good one to add to the collage
I pirated Fallout 4 and still feel remorse about playing it for a good whole day.
But for real the genuine case of regret for me was Civilization V. You can say it's FO4 of the CIV series - the core systems have been so streamlined to cater to basic retards that even mods can't fix it. Its casual as fuck compared to modded IV.
Battlefield 1 and Bloodborne. I know they're good games and I enjoyed them when I got em but I can't bring myself to play them anymore.. I'm hooked on TLOU online + Fifa17 career mode/online seasons
DayZ was fun and still is, fuck you already
Rust, DayZ, Fallout 4.
Although I actually did have some fun with DayZ and I think Fallout 4 might be fun in a few years.
Destiny. I do still play it since the gunplay and the feel of everything is fucking spot on. However, the lack of content and dlc pushing by activision made it a huge disappointment on release and has been killing the game ever since.
This gem right here.
It's a cool game. It's unique. I'm actually sorta glad that I own it now just because it's so weird.
But it isn't particularly fun, and back when I could only afford a new game every so often I sincerely regretted my purchase.
Overwatch, WoD, Diablo 3.
Diablo 3, my #1 disapointment in vidya, forever.
Same with F4, though I didn't even play it a whole day to feel the remorse set in, that happened in the first 20 minutes of gameplay.
>But for real the genuine case of regret for me was Civilization V.
I feel bad that so many people were so put off by vanilla Civ V that they never played with the expansions, which actually turned it into a good game.
I intend to refund Dayz as soon it's released.
I kind of want to add GTAV and Payday 2 since the versions I bought (at launch regrettably) ended up being forgotten and obsolete.
LISA. Fuck I shouldn't believe those game critics.
Anarchy Online and Age of Conan, I knew aoc would be bad but I got it to play with a friend anyway. I dont think I've ever played worse games than the launch of those two
The DayZ standalone is a fucking mess
The arma mod was so good
>which actually turned it into a good game.
No, they didn't, it's still basic as shit. The mechanics cut from IV are fucking meaningless when strapped on CIV V iPad-tier bucket-filling core mechanics. You can't afftect or customize your civilization in any meanigful way that will change the gamestyle.
It's fucking shit, and has been going downhill since.
Yeah funcom really knows how to shit up a launch. Anarchy Online had like 1 million users I think first month and it dropped so hard due to all of the problems. Game is retardedly complex for a shitty mmorpg. I bought a new graphics card and all kinds of shit to Play Age of Conan because I was burnt out on WoW at that point and it was beginning to wind down towards shit expansions up to the present.
Day Z modI had an amazing time on it. But the standalone was/is fucking SHIT
Overwatch
Diablo 3
See
The second it's out of early access.
i put 100 hours into vanilla fallout 4 before any DLC was released
I am salty as fuck over buying Fallout 4
Why did I fall for Todd's lies? I'm an idiot.
It's criminal they amount of content they've put out in such a long period of time, they should be banned from steam.
Battlefront. Got it for 5 bucks but I still feel ripped off.
I gave FO4 a chance and played 40 hours, but I can't bring myself to finish the story because I'm so bored to tears.
Brink takes the cake though.
But user, it will NEVER be out of early access. They know people will mass refund their asses, so the smart move is to keep it on early access.
i really want fallout 5 come out just to watch the cycle happen all over again and have every faggot on Sup Forums defend for while shitting forever on 5.
and i'm not saying it's perfect or defending Beth mind you, but it's trully hilarious how people cling onto these 2-3 games to hate just because they're popular with normies (and let's not pretend that isn't the reason).
NUMALES
LIE
>Look mom I put fallout 4 up there so everyone can see how edgy I am
I can see them trying to pull a quiet release hoping no one will notice for two weeks.
Age of Conan was a blast at launch because of the complete lack of PvP restriction. I played with some friends and we ended up creating a guild, arbitrarily declaring war on another guild, and essentially turning the starting zone into an enormous PvP battlefield where no one could get quests done. Then Barbarians had some ridiculous skill that let them throw their weapon at an enemy for insane damage in return for being disarmed for a bit. My friend had a barbarian who was a little overleveled for the starting zone and could one-hit pretty much anyone with that skill. I would get people to duel me, then he would pop out of stealth halfway through and chuck his axe at them to instantly kill them. The hatemail was incredible.
So yeah, broken as fuck, but I had a lot of fun with that game for about a week.
>buys this garbage
>the only guns worth to play requires you to grind money
>the guns are locked to each team
>you cant even choose the team you want to play, the game automatically picks one for you
what the fuck was visceral thinking when they made this garbage
I bought this for my little brother for his birthday.
What was I thinking!
>popular with normies
Nobody even talks about it apart from Sup Forums and Reddit, everyone including Bethesda are trying to forget it existed, you mong.
There's no good overhaul mods or modpacks STILL, it's a dead game that managed to make shitton of money because of hype
What did you dislike about battlefront? I was kinda considering buying it cause it's cheap.
It raped the franchise. Don't bother.
Every single person I know who got FO4 regrets it, Mr. Redditor
>bying into indie shit hype and/or believing indie praisers on Sup Forums
you only have yourself to blame. only a handful of indie games are actually worth playing, good or unique in any way, and it's usually not the ones everyone keeps screaming about. another prime example of this Undertale, which people legit wanted to be GOTY when it's gameplay and story are basic as shit, the humor is kid-tier and the graphics are shit (the music is good though, which is no wonder given what toby did in HS).
in short never believe indie hype, especially not on Sup Forums.
I bought this game + the season pass.
Never bought anything before the reviews since.
The funny thing is that I bought it for like 10 bucks because the ubishop on my country fucked up hard and put games like fallout 4 for 5 bucks, and I still feel ripped off
>What are the biggest video game regrets for you?
Deus Ex Mankind Divided was a disappointment
What a gimmicky piece of shit
I spent way too much time on this. Hope you enjoy it.
Rome 2
...
Skyrim. Thought I could go open world right away without killing shit with stupid controls.
Definetly Overwatch. I didnt play WoW until TBC came out because I had some preconceptions about the game. I didnt want the same to happen with overwatch and end up being late to the party. Game is the biggest disappointment for me. Its not fun as a shooter or as a team game. Its takes no skill and you are left with zero sense of accomplishment.
Pokemon mystery dungeon. Like the latest one for 3DS, whatever the full title was.
I played it for like two hours and (not even baiting or trolling here) felt like I was playing a game for autistic children who had no friends.
After that game, a few others and the 3rd gen pokemon remakes, I realized nintendo games just aren't what I enjoy anymore
bioshock
you could have at least put Osama in there
I pre-ordered that Fallout edition of Brink. Last game I ever pre-ordered.
>fallout edition of brink
what?
Dark Souls 3 / Bloodborne. Same fucking shit all over again. Had enough of it.
I don't get this meme.
Hold on...
I regret hacking my 3DS.
Was playing Pokémon and Monster Hunter on it before.
Hacked it, downloaded a ton of games and I hated pretty much all of them.
Yokai Watch was trash, the Kirby game was trash, Layton games were boring me. Didn't enjoy Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing is a fucking joke who the hell plays this baby game.
What a waste of time.
battlefront and dayz are up their
Final Fantasy 8. I stood in line to get my copy, and I stood in line again to return it.
What was that puzzle game where some AI had you trapped or something? It was set in ruins and everyone said it was GOAT but I just didn't get it.
That one.
>old FF games are up on sale at PSN
>buy VIII because surely hating on it is just a meme started by Spoony and i don't remember it being particularly bad
>start game
ohhhhhh
What bullshit. It's not fun, there's not even a fucking game you be played. Have zombies even finally been fucking implemented in the last two years? Kill yourself, the shit is getting refunded so hard when it leaves early access I bet it will bankrupt them
Lol, i enjoy more the mystery dungeon games rather than the normals pokemon
it came out more than a year ago, has all it's DLC released and there's a bunch of new games coming out that people are hyped for, including a new nintendo console, what did you expect?
and for all it's faults, 4 is better than 3 and NV by miles. hell, Far Harbor alone shits on NV.
people bitch and moan because like in 3 your character has a background and isn't a silent nobody getting involved in shit just because, but it's like it actually matters when the games aren't RPGs to begin with, at best they're open-world shooters with RPG elements or action RPGs, but that's as far as it goes. almost every other complaint is fucking retarded.
or are you gonna tell me you people are legit still expecting a new Fallout to be anything like 1 or 2? because if you are, sorry but neither Beth, Obsidian nor any modern game dev is gonna give you that so better start that crowdfunding project. you should play these games for what they are, nor for what you think they should be and that stands for more than just Fallout.
It's funny how bad the game turned out after all the years of hype
Definitely regret pokemon mystery dungeon
how do people enjoy those
Fallout 4 and Mafia 3
Harder finding high res pics of osama
Battlefront is one of few instances where the new game not being very close to the old ones is a big problem, and they made a good job of fucking it over.
they had a fucking mold all ready to use, all they had to do was put better graphics, sound and physics/gunplay in it and it would have easily been amazing, possibly even GOTY material.
>Far Harbor alone shits on NV.
sure does bud
>and for all it's faults, 4 is better than 3 and NV by miles
>it's like it actually matters when the games aren't RPGs to begin with, at best they're open-world shooters with RPG elements or action RPGs
>or are you gonna tell me you people are legit still expecting a new Fallout to be anything like 1 or 2
never seen so much goalpost shifting in one post, you're pretty good
From lost it's spark. they should never have gone beyond the first's DLCs or borderline 2. they fell for the asscreed trap and kept going because it was making money and was popular and in the process lost the uniqueness and quality the first ones were liked for.
at this point i actually hope they release yet another mediocre/bad game in hopes it'll finally kill the hype and let From move on to other projects.
I've always seen that in a local store, looked interesting but never bought it. Wonder if I would have had fun with it.
Rage, I played it for an hour and threw it in the corner of my room, where it rests to this day.
nice non-arguments, you got them yourself?
and i'm sorry you believe a recycled game where everything boils down to an illusory choice is a masterpiece, when it's actually only marginally better than 3.
LA Noire. Preordered.
Also Dark Void.
No meme but The Witcher 3. I bought it with the Season pass and played it right away. It was fine until after beating up the drunks outside the tavern. I haven't played it since and regret buying it.
