probably, but I don't expect much. it's trying to accomplish the same things and while verbose enough numenera feels like purple prose: the game.

It's basically the quintessential of roleplaying: so many dialogue options that you're always gonna be pressed for expectations on it regardless of what you do. The combat is basically Balder's Gate with all the complaints about it practically nullified or at the very least worked around with, so if you've ever had problems with those faggot ass mages that wouldn't stop buffing then you're gonna love Monte.

As for what you should know: dialogue and conversations are the hardest part of the game, but they're there for a reason. Listen and learn; look and observe.

There's no blatantly correct answer in most cases, but there's always wrong ones, depending on someone's stance. Stay observant, but don't ever try to force yourself to understand.

Charisma isn't too much a dump stat, but it still pales in comparison to Wisdom and Intelligence.

Monte is not as he seems. Don't take this at face-value; he's a good friend, but there's more to him than meets the eye.

And the last one: you are the Nameless One. What you might see might not be something you want to hear. But you gotta live with it.

I dunno man, i'm intersted in it too, but the more i read people's reviews, the more it troubles me. It looks like they went really light with the "science-fantasy" angle, and made it just plain old high fantasy with weird shit in it.

I don't know if that's their fault or the setting's, but i'm already mildly pissed off.

Not really. It's just meant as a simple identifier and essentially function as your class because it's based on your stats. It's not Nobilis, for example.

Also, be prepared to read, a lot. The language is far more refined than any other rpg these days. Torment is the only game I've played in my mothertongue. I found out that my english is not good enough for comfortable reading of the game's texts.

But just how different it is? I really like the idea of Multiverse and its setting.

Stack wisdom ,intelligence, charisma in that order to get most out of the story. Also it is recommended to play a mage due to the stats.

Nameless one is much Higher level with much higher stats, though Bhaalspawn could have timestop which is OP, though Nameless one has Mechanus Cannon and Symbol of Torment which is also OP

Shame Pathologic is a mess and most people would be better off waiting for the remastered version to come out.

Late game bhaalspawn could have all sort of chain triggers and spell contingencies set up, as well as faster cast times due to robe of vecna.
