I installed it caught 1 thing after the starter quickly realised there was nothing from the actual games barring the pokemon and then proceeded to uninstall and never go back to it.

How people can continue playing it with how shallow it is baffles me.

its a shitty mobile game that has no depth and was only popular because it was the first popular AR game that encouraged you to socialize. if I wanted to play Pokemon i would play the actual games

It's a Pokemon game devoid of literally anything and everything that makes Pokemon games fun. You can't trade or battle with other people, there are no legendary events yet and the battle system is buggy and lagged as hell.

Because it is the barest of bones in terms of being a game.
You walk around throw a ball and then repeat.
Battles are basically non-existent and evolving a pokemon means you need to catch of it. Which is next to impossible for shit like Dragonites shit.
The concept was good. The execution was a fucking pile of shit.

No one plays this shit except in certain areas
The combat is still fucking garbage
Minimum number of stats and attacks
No trading
Literally nothing social about it
Gyms are shitty and once an area is owned by a color it stays that way permanently making everyone in that area want to be the dominate color

Instead it's literally tapping as fast as you can and timing dodges. How the fuck is that pokemon? How the fuck could they think it was a good idea to employ this mechanic instead of a standard turn-timer turn based game!?

It's supposed to be casual, something easy you can quickly deal with at some location
also it's free and I believe nintendo doesn't want it to be too similar to the mainline

Look, I enjoyed participating in the first month it released because it was so incredibly popular. But let's be real, it's a fucking terrible game. The game was only worth playing when it released just to experience the phenomena.

They added more pokemon, so what? You can't do shit with these, they are 3d models placed on a list. You can fight other player models by button mashing at some specific spots.

The game is pointless without ability to fight other players directly.

that said there really isnt anything to it, like you catch pokemon, which is fine, but gyms and battling are so bad it's not even really content.

I still play. All of these anons are correct; it's a pretty shitty and barely a game. For some reason I still enjoy catching things when I'm walking around. Maybe it's because I like collecting things or the excitement of something new popping up? No idea. I think the game will be a lot better when they add trading.
