What's Sup Forums opinion on anime fighters, a.k.a. air dashers?
I play smash a lot and saw Xrd while I was watching EVO last year
It looked nice but the controls are terrible
>controls are terrible
>overcomplicated inputs
>thousands of unnecessary mechanics
the only unnecessary mechanic is danger time
The real problem is that xrd -SIGN- has an average of 18 on right now for steam and i don't wanna spend a full $60 for revelator when its $12 on ps4 and rev2 is coming out in a couple months.
How is Kum?
>controls are terrible
Smashbabies everybody.
Git gud
Played Blazblue casually, never owned the game.
Hakumen is nice, 4C all day everyday
im a cranky old man and i hate meter and i hate subsystems so i hate anime fighters
Their fine, don't like BB that much for some reason, can't put my finger on why.
Waiting for Baiken before i pick up R2
Did they buff Slayer?
GG is the only good one.
>Smash player complaning about other games controls being horrible
Never fails to make me laugh
Blazblue is superior to Guilty Gear in everyway except art style and character design.
Well, technically MvC is anime aswell.
>tfw smash is the most technical fighting game
>still cant do dp
They're all bad and boring, except for Melty
DID SOMEONE SAY WAVEDASH
Sounds more like street fighter kids to me they have no idea what qualifies as a fighter
Good development of the genre. Too bad no one likes fighters now.
Never played Blazblue, Guilty Gear is fun as fuck.
Venom is such a blast to play.
...
I took the bait for just a sec
Reminder that VO:OT is the only good 3D anime fighter aside from Shrek Super Slam.
>tfw Tuner still doesn't get any buffs worth a damn
Next loctest for sure!
One of the buttons makes no sense. I get Punch, Kick, Slash and Heavy Slash. But Dust? The fuck does dust even mean?
...
>3D anime fighter
There's no such thing as 3D anime fighter, anime fighters are and will always be 2D.
BB and GG are fucking incredible and Arcana Heart is pretty great too.
Unfortunately I couldn't keep up with my fighting game friends who all ended up playing in tournaments on a national level. These days I don't have anyone my own level to play these games with, so I don't buy them anymore.
>Games takes dedication
>Its bad
I thought this was a meme.
So GG is the only good one
What about Guilty Gear fans?
Well technicalities aside, it does control a lot like an anime fighter or Marvel would if they were in 3D.
How the fuck do you people find out about shit like DI but don't know how to use a simple launcher button?
I agree, especially about the character design. The characters in BB have gone WAY down hill since CP. Every character since then has looked like the most generic deviant art OC ever, whilst GG continues to pump out cool new characters.
I'll take this opportunity to shill Nitroplus Blasterz because it's a damn good game that doesn't deserve to be dead.
Checked
>This is what i waste quints on
Fucking hell
At the time when that picture was made GG was dead.
Why is Melty there then? It was never alive in the first place.
Why not call it launch and not dust?
>Sonico and literal whos
Any actual semen demon in this game i should care about?
I've argued this point many times and you won't be the first. Walking is nerfed, jumping forward is nerfed, both in favor of forcing players to do dashes. Dust lanches serves zero gameplay purposes other than looking fancy. Staggers have plagued throughout this series to cause true infinite loop combos. Flash defense is too high risk when Faultless Defense exists and both effectively serve the exact same purpose except the latter has smaller risk and about the same return. Finally, show me a case where guard cancel attack has ever been useful.
>EXVS
>Bad
Self destruct.
There a Senran in there I think
A Blazblue player made that, so there is some bias.
Well done my friend, well done...
Dedicated autist fanbase. The guy who made it was probably a melty fan.
Didn't and doesn't always just launch.
It's a cool mecha game but that game's pretty slow-paced compared to VOOT. That's like called Street Fighter 2 turned 3D an anime fighter.
Blazblue is my current fav, enjoyable game, though the top tiers are a little too oppressive.
I stopped playing GG when they nerfed Slayer into the ground, just couldn't get back into him.
HnK is best anime game.
It has Saber.
witnessed my man
Which one?
Which one?
The shit brown one, Homura
How about you do some research or use common sense.
the fuck are you even talking about
That will do.
Shut up saberfag.
I bet you're Neroposter
His argument seems pretty clear to me. He's talking about the mechanics of Xrd, obviously.
Don't use buzzwords you don't know the meaning off.
not him, but it has real Saber
They are cool, especially GG but there are a shitload of mechanics to learn. Not too much people play those games though, it took 7 fucking months to find anyone else in my region to play GG and we only played once. The second time had people so good they stopped playing with me because i was so bad.
I typically play traditional fighters, but the execution required to play Melee at a decent level is pretty fucking high.
It's its own thing due to the 2v2 gameplay. And, frankly, it is the better game.
I've had blazblue for a while now and started playing it. Pretty fun.
This is bullshit. I care nothing for BlazBlue.
Of which he knows nothing about. Dusts are a universal overhead. jumping forward isn't nerfed at all because you still retain all of your actions like double jump to bait anti-airs, FD to block anti-airs, instant block to airthrow punish someone trying to air to air you, or air backdash to reset everything again. All are much better alternatives than just instant airdashing in neutral, but you can believe that if you want to be retarded and try to talk shit anyway. Staggers don't lead to infinites either. You can mash out and you'll even see if the followup they hit you with was a true combo or not. Even then, you have bursts. Instant block and FD don't serve the exact same purpose at all either. FD during blockstrings is used to prevent chip damage, risc guage buildup, but most of all to trick the attacker into whiffing a normal because of the increased pushback FD gives, and then you can whiff punish and put the momentum in your favor. Instant blocks do almost the exact opposite, they keep you closer and decrease blockstun so you can mash out of fake blockstrings while increasing your risc buildup and meter, and FD depletes meter when used.
The fact that you believed that that guy even remotely knows what the fuck he's talking about scares me, if you aren't samefagging.
I wonder why dickriders never moved on to Blazblue since it's the harder ASW after Xrd simplified everything.
I fucking love Skullgirls
I should play some more GG as well. I also liked XvSF a lot
I play Xrd but I'm interested in playing both. I keep trying to like SFV too but with how the neutral game is a crazy game of rock paper scissors, it's not for me.
>AA results
>another top tier wins blazblue
>low tier slayer wins guilty gear
Most people only organize guilty gear tier lists with A+, A-, B+, B-. Sometimes people include a C for Slayer and Potempkin but it's still a well balanced game.
Melty Blood is my favourite fighting game.
GET wasted
>American tournament
Dude lmao
>I keep trying to like SFV too but with how the neutral game is a crazy game of rock paper scissors, it's not for me.
But that's literally xrd's neutral game...
fighting games aren't for you.
Use discord
i did but most people i found there play on PC and i play on PS4, there's no point on playing people from other regions because i get like 14f delay.
Which mechanics?
>he hates meter and subsystems
what do you play? karateka?
No dub, no buy.
>flash defence
U talking about just guard? That shit is literally the opposite of faultless defence
>just defend(jd) gives less blockstun/faultlees(fd) gives more
>jd gives meter/fd costs meter
>jd gives less pushback/fd gives more
>jd doesnt affect risk or chip damage/fd negates both
Dust is there to give an universal oppening to every character, they launch cause that way the combo after is similar too
Stagger is there so you gotta be aware of what you are getting hit with amd allows for combos otherwise not possible by risking the possibility of your opponent getting out of it
Also what the fuck are guard cancel attacks
>stopped playing with me because i was so bad
This isn't a thing that happens is it? I get to learn the game off of a better player and in exchange I'll be their punching bag. If this isn't something that benefits us both then what chance does any starter have of finding a training partner.
That virtua fighter one hurts. Better than tekken and DOA by miles but it's now a completely dead franchise.
A slayer just won anime assension go check him out
What is the Street Fighter panel suppose to depict?
I really do hope you are baiting with this post.
You pretty much got everything wrong.
Guard cancel attacks are special moves you input when blocking. A character best know for in GG is Baiken.
>since CP
You must really not have been paying attention at all during CT or CS. Practically all of the characters there hold the same level of absurdity, BB character designs never got worse and are pretty consistent in what tone they're setting. If you're going to tell me Azrael, Bullet, Amane, and Kokonoe aren't the tightest shit then you're a massive faggot
There is certain amount of crazy that is good, and blazblue is just insane.
Was also my first airdasher.
Love them. BB is my favorite, but I also enjoy UNIEL and AH. Used to play GG a bit but it's not all that fun anymore and I find the characters not very appealing, and YRC slowdown gets on my nerves.
Going to try and attend EVO for the first time if I can scourge up enough money by then, but travelling from Europe isn't exactly cheap
I like Arcana Heart 3 because all the girls look like they could be pushed over really easily. I don't know why, but I like the idea of pushing over girls these days. There isn't even the thought of sexual or further physical violence after the fact. Just the pushing is enough.
Yoriko looks like the most pushable, so I guess I'd choose her. I'd love to feel her delicate figure give only the slightest resistance against the force of my arms before disconnecting from me entirely and crashing to the ground with a light thud.
What are the best fighters in general right now?
I was under the impression that guard cancels, at least in Guilty Gear, were a Baiken specific mechanic.
Normies
Under Night has the best "anime"/chuuni aesthetic in a fighter and you cannot prove me otherwise. It honestly looks like it had decent thought put into it (with the exception of the giant fist girl in [st])
BBCF, GGXrdR, KoFXIV, and KI.
...
The character variety was pretty great for BB. Both at Frosty Faustings and Anime Ascension, there've been 9 different characters in Top 8, and no Nines or Carls. There was 1 Izanami in both, but neither managed to get to top 4 even.
