Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Sup Forums, why do you not like me?

Haven't seen enough of you yet

I don't know anything about it.

I don't have anything about seen enough it.

...

I don't know much about you.
All I know is your artstyle pisses me off.

I really dislike the new art style.
Other than that, looking forward to it.

...

Not fond of the artstyle and of the few things I know about you none are appealing.

I'll wait for more info. It doesn't help that I'm biased towards sci-fi and something more like X would be right up my ally. But I'm hoping there'll be a twist on the fantasy setting here that's interesting like the original Xenoblade's was.

>All I know is your artstyle pisses me off
Looks good to me tbqhwyf

He looks like a kid, no one wants to play as a kid

I hate your outfit.

We're good as long as NoA doesn't get its grubby mits on you.

Remind me of Jr. from Xenosaga who I didn't ever care for. There's no guarantee he'll be an irritating brat, but the expectation is there.

Hopefully fashion armor's a thing this time around too, his pants are fucking terrible and his 'helmet' looks lame.

I'm concerned how a cartoonish model like that will look next to the open world landscapes. XCX's character models weren't perfect but they struck a nice balance between realism and style, meaning they looked appropriate next to the realistically styled fantasy landscapes. The guy in OP's pic wouldn't look good in Noctilum, which has me concerned they may take a different approach to geography design and art.

If the guy in OP's pic was running around New LA it would look like Super Mario Odyssey.

So we're screwed?

Really? I think its very good.

>the game with the plot neatly wrapped up gets a sequel
>the game that basically ends the story half-way through gets forgotten
XCX sequel fucking when

>Ruin Xenoblade X with a shitty cliff hanger that makes everything you were doing in that game completely pointless.
>Lol jk we're going back to Chronicles instead.

Never again.

They had to move away from the potatos sooner or later.
Shit just didnt work in 3D.

I mean I'm sure armor is gonna be a thing in general which is fine. As the other user said he looks like a kid too, which is grating.

What would an X sequel even do? Just rehashing Mira again? That would be boring.

>I'm concerned how a cartoonish model like that will look next to the open world landscapes. XCX's character models weren't perfect but they struck a nice balance between realism and style, meaning they looked appropriate next to the realistically styled fantasy landscapes
People even moaned that X models didn't fit the environments. I never understood this and think XB2 looks absolutely fine. It's not like the cel-shade is particularly strong. It's more subtle than most games.

It literally looks like your general, run of the mill, anime shit

>It's OK guys, BotW's world will be great, Monolith is helping develop it!
>Meanwhile the A-Team was developing this shit

NINTENDO ALWAYS WINS BBY

Reminds me too much of terrible vita weeb shovelware

could explore another area of the planet, I'm sure there'd be more continents and more alien species on there.

Doesn't remind me of that but you do you user

They can't just pick up NLA and move it to another part of the world.

The character models are from Tales, except flatter.

Can't wait for that hot MMO-lite gameplay.

I literally googled "generic Vita anime game" and this was like the 4th image. Do what you will that information

I didn't say they would, but who's to say there can't be another white whale that crash? Or even play as a different species entirely?

Artstyle makes it look like a shitty gust game

True, but wouldn't people get mad if the sequel focused on a different ship? I mean, the cliffhanger is the thing everyone gets mad about, and if they did a different set of characters the cliffhanger probably wouldn't get resolved

i dont like the art style. it reminds of those weeb trash games that get released on vita/pc.

bring the guy/girl who designed the characters in XCWII

Cel-shading is way stronger on those models and even the clothes themselves are cel-shaded whereas Xenoblade 2 characters' clothes aren't cel-shaded. Also, those Vita RPG characters wear different clothes like pretty dresses and Victorian shit whereas XB2 characters wear stuff that looks more sci-fi

This. It looks like some Sword Art Online shit.
Xenoblade Chronicles at least made up for it by having a great, unique rustic and colorful artstyle. X just looked like ass, and this looks like something else entirely.

Ok but there's now 4 people including myself ITT that have thought the same thing. It looks like generic anime shovelware

Make that 5

Yeah but this is Sup Forums where people care about this stuff, whereas people outside of Sup Forums who live healthy lives think the art style is great. Even Easy Allies thought the art style looks much better than X. It doesn't matter if the art style looks similar to other games, that's actually what makes them more interesting to other people because they look more familiar. If you're gonna drop the game just because the art style looks somewhat similar to other JRPGs than that's your problem.

yeah but I meant that you'd mostly be in another part of the world but gradually learn about what happened in the previous game, perhaps even being able to visit the regions from the original game at some point.

The style is fine, the game looks fine so far, the protagonist is godawful.

>the protagonist is godawful
Looks no worse than any other JRPG character.

...

>Even Easy Allies thought the art style looks much better than X
That's not really a high bar.

>Overdesigned Monado

>Sup Forums will defend this
It looks like her eyes are fucking melting off

I never liked you to begin with, Isidro.

I really hate how Kunihiko Tanaka's designs doesn't really seem to translate well into 3D, which is a shame because I like his art style better

I wish they found a way to make Kunihiko Tanaka's stuff look good in 3d. Characters like Nagi/Vandham/Elma look fine but young girls just look terrible.

Xenoblade story was wrapped up nicely, so it's a unnecesary sequel. The artstyle is bland as fuck. Looks like a Tales game.

So much wasted potential on potato Lin, Hope and Mia.

But I do like you. If the Switch gets a third interesting game besides you XB 2 and Zelda I'll buy it.

Dude, you just got announced, and I like you a lot and looking forward to you.

Also, I am so glad your character designs don't look like they have the downs anymore.
