I loooved AoE2 but cant get into any other rts game. I own plenty but always end up going back minutes in.
every single game released in the last 10-15 years
Man I love this game, did you try the multiplayer?
Eye
I like setting, atmosphere, gameplay and I like thing on source in general because what a bitch it is.
But going through texts in it is really exhausting, I think if it got translated into my language I would get through.
Nope. Played single player around 3-4 hours. I just can't have fun with it, don't know why.
not even really the game's fault, I just have absolutely no creativity and quit the game within a half hour of starting every time
Everything just feels so wrong with it.
It's just too simple. All the civs are the same
>tfw i cant git gud
Woah user. Planet Coaster is dope!
I'm about as creative as a brick and I still play it.
Give it another try.
Endless Legends better.
This.
And I've completed all of the souls games on at least ng++. I don't know why I can't get on with it.
same here, I just can't force myself to play it. I love CIVs but this one is weird, I can't
most RTS/TBS games
they're too smart for me
Any ""4X"" game
you build troops, select them and right click on enemy stuff
it's not rocket science
yeah but then you have to manage resources and stuff
any kind of micromanagement stresses me the hell out, i'm a very simple person
Cosmo Tank
Crusader Kings
Most RTS
All those shitty 4x like Warlock, Endless legend etc. they feel so generic and unrewarding for the amount of time they require.
it's okay. rts's take a certain amount of autism to play.
Any fighter.
Just never got a proper grip with circular motions.
Morrowind
Me too. But there are some ones that I truly enjoyed like skullgirls, King of Fighters and mavel x capcom. Give them a try if you ever feel life playing that range.
Valkyria Chronicles
Cool setting, cool aesthetic, but the game felt more like a puzzlebox than an actual turn-based strategy. Creative tactics often got punished in favor of brainlessly rushing in a scout or a shocktrooper.
i like the aesthetic of fighters but there's so much with those games that i can't even bother with
i think the main style of input (motions + lmh punches and kicks) is stupid and unintuitive, especially as the motions get more complicated
then having to string together several of those complicated inputs together with sensitive frame timings. it's too much to bother with. it's bad enough you have to read a textbook of mechanics, but then actually teaching your hands this crazy control scheme.
these
Mount & Blade - always seemed like a bad combat game with a mass combat gimmick grafted to a bad strategy overworld. Why would I want to play when I can either play a good melee combat game or a good strategy game with mass combat, like the total war series?
Paradox grand strategy games - I've played HoI, DH, CK2, Victoria 2, etc. Not a single one comes close to the depth of a proper GS game like Civ 4 or Alpha Centauri.
I find the ideas behind these games really attractive but the implementation is so crap it just disappoints me.
Any strategic game that you deconstruct/optimize for goals tend to become like that. I think the devs made a mistake of not putting more different victory conditions in the game. Still, you can have a lot of fun if you just make up your own rules, a team full of snipers being one of the must fun of them.
>tfw shit reaction times
they all look so fun with coll looking characters, but Ill never be able to defeat anyone except a newbie
Really any kind of competitive online game. I don't mean online gaming in general, but stuff like StarCraft 2 and so on.
...
i think the fun people have with this game depends heavily on the class they choose for themselves and their pawn
Souls games. I don't know what the fuck it is, but I can't play them, even though I genuinely tried.
That's some good bait right there my friend
>civ 4 is more in depth than hoi3 and v2
>implying civ 4 isn't babby's first strategy game
>implying civ 4 has anything historical other than the names of the leaders
I have a really hard time with shmups. I've never found one that makes me eager to improve.
It's a shame because there are so many cool looking shmups, but I know I wouldn't be able to play them properly.
Daggerfall. I know it is the best RPG of all time, but I can't get past the bugs. I honestly prefer Arena any day, the UI was more intuitive and there weren't parts of the game where you had to hope the game didn't just decide to break. I truthfully found the story underwhelming. I miss Jagar Tharn yelling at me. Climbing requires aligning right with the wall and a certain amount of autism to get up it without it flinging you across the city. Images were nice, but they are like Metro, just make it harder to see everything I want to see because less can be on the screen at one time. Stealth was pretty much not existent. The lore books had so many graphical issues they are nearly impossible to read. Killed the entire Elder Scrolls series for me as everyone says it goes downhills from there.
...
I thought it was just me.
Civ I can stomach because at least Civ is based on extant empires and adds a nice layer to it if you like history and politics and shit. I get none of that with the fantasy based ones.
Any FPS made before 1996. Any FPS made in 1996 that wasn't Quake. Any FPS made after 1998. Before 1996 it was all spamming walls, button hunts, and the entire focus was on chaotic mazes that bore me to death. After 1998 games got cinematic, had a bunch of cutscenes, and I felt like I was wasting more time watching a movie than playing a game.
Witcher 3 for me. Lore seems really fleshed out and the character models look amazing. But something about it just drives me away, and i'm not sure what it is.
this is true aspergers
>not one comes close to the depth of Civ IV
I think you might be retarded friend
Maybe you live in america and not seeing specific quota of black people make you feel strange in your stomach.
How long have you played it?
I couldn't either. Mostly due to the absolutely dire combat and lack of anything else exemplary to make up for it. I want to like it but I just can't play it for too long without getting horribly bored.
You need to power through the first 4 hours.
For me Alpha Centauri was the only good 4X
Cause theme and politics were interesting
How did you like Bloody Baron quest?
>civ 4 is more in depth than hoi3 and v2
Hearts of Iron 3 is something that could resemble a decent wargame with its tactics and warfare portion. Everything else in the game is laughable, however.
Victoria 2 is a complex statistics generator, coupled with a decent economics management systems. Everything else is laughable, however.
You seem to be mistaking geo-political simulation games for grand strategy games.
Hoi4 could be amazing with a few expansions and dlc's.
paradrones out in force to defend their piece of shit paint sims, I see
HoI4 is already doomed, no depth whatsoever.
Probably not the reason.
Still early game, idk how long but I had just finished up at the tavern and beat up the bandits.
I wouldn't go that far since the lore and character models were very good and interesting, but yeah the combat wasn't a strong point.
I'll try again sometime.
Anything Rockstar released AFTER San Andreas
So specifically 1997?
sleeping dogs
>Real-Time mass combat mini-game
>Total War Series
If anything, the map painting part is the mini-game while the battles are the main content.
It's so overrated.
Daggerfall was the No Man's Sky of its time. It's fucking repetitive garbage. Don't worry, you aren't missing out on anything good
Metal Gear Solid
I even bought the fucking Legendary Collection
But the gameplay is so fucking shit, the story is cringy as fuck, even the typical japanese lolrandumness fanservice can't save it for me.
I actually love stealth games, but this I just cant.
>en.wikipedia.org
>no civshit
Hmmm...
Go back to your normie friends at reddit. I'll be playing a real GSG, Darkest Hour.
Had this problem too, but overcame myself and finished it. Has quite a few problems, but setting is somewhat unusual for GTA clones
>the story is cringy as fuck
it's a lot more enjoyable if you take the stick out of your ass
This. At big scale, it was a huge improvements from V vanilla, but
>That cartoon artstyle
>That jewishy handling of DLCs
>shitty quotes
>shitty quotes from FUCKING LITERAL WHO BLOGS
>shitty leader
I dont care if the leader had vagina but at least dont make it the only prequisitive to be a leader
>Australia
>shitty artstyle again
>le quirky and funky tone
>slideshow ending
>meme narrator
>+120 days after relase and still no mod support
just play V and not care about the story. Konami and Kojima sure didn't.
skyrim, I've never gotten past the first big city because I just get too bored
it's so generic, I hate generic fantasy
Shoo shoo steamgroup scum.
>wikipedia
Who wrote that article, your mom?
DIRTY DUMB 4X SCUM
I played V too and it has the same issues stated above with shit level design on top of it.
>4xnigger tier arguments
Sasuga.
Any SRPG. I almost liked SMT Devil Survivor enough to finish it, but I didn't.
To each their own. I thought V's gameplay was a blessing of an upgrade from the past games, even with the boring level design
persona 3 and 4
I like the social parts, I don't like everything else
let me just live in comfy weirdo town
>Still early game, had just finished up at the tavern and beat up the bandits
So you haven't even finished the tutorial yet. AD/HD, I'd say.
Four is One of the best games I've ever played.
Specifically 1996 if talking Quake, 1997-1998 if anything else. 1998 was a good year.
Is persona worth playing when you already got spoiled that Adachi is the killer?
It's quie mindboggling that you criticize the combat when you have not even finished the tutorial area yet. I agree the combat in general was not the most innovative, but you are jumping to conclusions way too hastily.
>368457613
>>shitty quotes
>shitty quotes from FUCKING LITERAL WHO BLOGS
For some reason this annoyed me the most. It´s such a small piece of the game but the quotes were allways powerfull and this time we got some retard complainijg that there is no wifi on a mountain and gibberisch about how miners wife is the hardest job in the world.
>witcherniggers can't comprehend that someone doesn't like their game
LOL
I want to like it but it's not on PC
Seriously? I thought I was at least starting the early game. Sure felt like it.
Shouldn't really be mindboggling, the combat wasn't the best, but it's not like it was dogshit either.
No but that's like saying Super Mario 64 is a boring game when one hasn't even entered the castle yet, but just roamed around the courtyard.
It's a friendship simulator.
Do you want to experience what it feels like to have friends?
I can't get into Civ for the same reason I can't get into Total War.
Both games are everything I should love, but the turns just completely ruin the flow of the games. You spend a minute taking your turn, and then you have to wait the same amount of time if not longer just to watch the AI do their thing.
I just end up alt+tabbing and eventually lose interest.
Feels like Zero Dawn Horizon, but as expected, a technical inferior.
Then there comes lack of intricate writing and excellent inspiring designs, and deep lovable characters that Horizon has.
I can recommend this only to PS4 owners to reassure that they made the right choice.
test
White Orchard is a small tutorial area designed to let the player get a feeling of the game that concludes in the Griffin quest. It's all but an introduction and in general as a tip, you should relate to it as a book that you must read and not drop after the first ten pages.
Play at least through the Bloody Baron/the Crones quest before dropping the game, a friendly tip. Then you should know if it is worth continuing or not.
The thing is you haven't explored the full potential of the combat yet. Now I'll be the last person to defend its combat, but as you lack all the skills and haven't had the time to get used to it, you haven't really experienced it yet.
Any fighting game.
I'm usually pretty calm, don't insult people, generally don't take the game too seriously
But I boot up a fighter and it takes me 3 games to yell at people to kill themselves
I don't even enjoy winning in them
RTS and Paradox games.
I just can't git gud in them.
Im the guy you reply, but the coal miner's wife quote isnt meant to be taken literally you dingus. It came from a country singer, probably from one of his love songs or something. The game is so fucking tongue in cheek im not surprised many guys here were taken offense by that. No contest on that wifi shit tho. And the one with ancient rome and air conditioner or something were also guilty
The literal who blogs are the one used in Aztec ball game wonder and the one about rifle or something. I havent touched that shit in months so I kinda forget.
please keep console wars in their designated threads, thank you!
You know he's right.
>he
did you mean (You)?
Sounds good, I'll give it another shot soon and try to make it to the Bloody Barons quest.
Also just progress the main story if you feel side quests are a waste of time. Now there are some quite amazing side quests you wouldn't want to miss, but pretty much every Witcher Contract is just "go kill ghost here," so feel free to ignore those at least.
I've never been able to get more than an hour in
