Bump, you guys need to see this : this is the most powerful engine ever created, and it's only on Playstation 4™

Look good. Shame it's not on PC for higher framerate at 4K.

Yea. The real shame is valve. They prefer to bet on shitty f2p with skins.

What? How is Horizon not being on PC has anything to do with Valve?

No memes tho, the decima engine is legit godlike.

>walks past things that can be picked up

I'm more talking about the fact that the only big PC dev doesn't give a shit about rendering anymore.

I agree, not interested in the game but am interested in what this engine can produce.

>20 minutes of words words words words
>Game still looks worse than Crysis 3/Witcher 3

Neat.

>Witcher 3

Try a better bait next time.

>tfw Kojima has free reign to make whatever he wants in this engine
Can't wait for when it gets released in 2025.

>Next Kojima game will look like this

Hype as fuck

Seriously, say what you will about the game's story and characters. This is a fucking incredible achievement for the hardware it's running on.

To think too, Kojima is using this game engine for Death Stranding.

How come these whos from the Netherlands can make a better engine than big name companies from the US

>Guerrilla Games
>whos

>Only made Killzone

How come your mom is still the one feeding you at 26?

Name a single flaw, ill wait kiddo. unmodded

Killzone 2 was also some serious magic on PS3

so whats the day one patch?

more fps?

HA look at all the fog they used to mask the shitty draw distance!

>add non-aliased trees to an untextured map
>game is now best looking game ever according to pcfats

>4K*
>*Checkerboarded

They really did a good job with the detail can't wait

You see that mountain? You can't climb it.

Witcher 3 looks like your typical multi-plat held back by obsolete PC garbage.

Because they made the engine for the game, instead of going with the us route and using a fps engine for your hack and slash or using the same engine ten times in a row til it's older than teh children playing your game.

People say you can't make a new engine for each game anymore but you know what? It works fucking better if you do.

Killzone 2 literally saved the PS3 from irrelevance

The engine is amazing, but somehow they managed to make shit tier animations

It actually does

Fox engine was great too

>What works.
>Character animation.

How the fuck.

Actually, how the fuck on most of those things they consider good. There were minute+ loading screens during the stream, and they didn't even mention the fucking fog everywhere.

Im pretty meh about Horizon, Ill get it if I hear good things but holy shit the Decima engine is something else.

>df who shat all over sony for 5+ years pretending to be fans/ tech geniuses and not complete xbox fans like a bunch of douchy frat boys
>jacking up the gamma to max and then complaining about texture quality when 9 out of 10 pixels are grey

But it looks bad?
You wanna tell me what's impressive here?
The 2d clouds/fog, the washed up lighting?
No SSS material as well.
You should try to play other games to realize this.

There's no way she's not actually a robot, this is definitely intentional.

It's one of those games I won't buy, but probably want for my birthday or something

All that engine dev time must be why they didn't have any manpower left to make the game fun.

First FFXV with Crystal Tools, now this

>In-game vs bullshot
great example. faggot

What's the problem with Checkerboarded?
That's a great tech that PC games should have as well, so we don't need a fucking gtx1080 to play at 4k.

Yup, tailor made engines for your given game almost always leads to better results than what middleware would give you. The problem is that it's not economically feasible and lengthens development time.

youtube.com/watch?v=Y-5OXxRAoS0

>Graphics Analysis
That's so fucking boring. Why not just play the fucking game?

I expected this to be one of the first titles to run like dogshit if you don't have a PS4 Pro but it's pretty good that it's basically rock solid 30 on the base hardware.

>That's a great tech that PC games should have as well

Already in Watch_Dogs 2, Rainbow Six Siege, Shadow Warrior 2 and Battlefield 1. Also PC devs aren't using it as a crutch to lie about being 4K.

FFXV fucked up because it restarted several times and each time they made a new engine, it was garbage and the project had no strong vision or good management.

Don't bring up unrelated things here.

There are also obvious pop-ins when it cuts to a different scene, like a few seconds after 12:08

retard

And BF1 runs really well even on middle end PCs

It's not great tech, it's a really shitty cover up that leaves bad artifacts everywhere

Playing at 1440p with no checkerboarding on a 4k screen with decent AA is better than checkerboarding 1440p

Console dumb dumbs have just literally never had the option to try playing at high resolutions for themselves

>the only big PC dev
CDPR will always have PC as their #1

'cause y'all are fucking hobos that pirate everything. don't deserve shit

I think it's the performance of this engine despite rendering at this level of fidelity that got Kojima on board with this.

The man loves pushing things, but at the same time his games also run pretty well. This seems like it enable him to do both.

youtu.be/0Y8u7MvuArA?t=84

nice fucking smoke

that fog, fucking kek.

Man, that plays so much like a commercial it's hillarious.

They just breeze past the massive flaw that is the lack of world physics, characters don't effect water/snow/foliage in any way, and they just brush it off as "oh well, it looks good!"

>30fps
Almost looked impressive but then i remembered that fzero x on the nintendo 64 ran at 60fps literally 20 (twenty) years ago. Shame.
Greatness awaits.

Oh yea we saw that with that impressive downgrade :^)

It's only not economically feasible if you plan isn't to shit out some stale crap, advertise the shit out of it and reap tremendous profits. Horizon isn't going to lose money for whatever their names are. Purpose-built engines just conflict with the EA or Squaresoft X must sell five million copies or it's a failure business model.

This is why i can never like games like the witcher. yes everything looks pretty good, but you can't do anything with the world. Nothing. Everything is just there, you can't climb that mountain, you can't cut down trees, can't climb them, can't collect the wood from cutting down the trees, You can't jump out of the balcony and glide to.. anywhere. The smaller trees are all holographic as well. I swear the witcher faggots have started playing video games with a 360 or something because it's a low quality game hiding behind pretty visuals.

>massive flaw
>no water ripples
>grass not moving when you move through it

You're making mountains out of molehills.

I have a 1070, 6700k and 4k video stutters and freezes my browser to absolute shit

Is this a chrome issue or a jewtube issue

It's still a good tech for people who can't afford $500 gpu.

Aka the THIS ENGINE MUST BE ABLE TO SUPPORT FPS, OPEN WORLD, PLATFORMING, AND RACING GAME DEVELOPMENT FOR THE NEXT 5 YEARS

Sometimes you get amazing ones like MTFramework, but mostly you compromised shit.

>Both water and foliage don't react at all to the characters

All these cut corners just for muh grefics
Fucking Skyrim can do it

Jewtube + Chrome. Same thing was happening to me until I made it fullscreen.

Chrome is notoriously bad at handling 4k shit.

>survival fag
Whatever, trees, mountains, panoramas are there to look pretty I don't give a shit about climbing them or something.

inb4 Horizon vs. Zelda swimming

>spends 1k on pc GPU alone
>graphics are better on $200 console

It really make you think

I don't like skyrim overall but getting into a river and having the current push me downstream makes me hard.

>lack of world physics
thats because the photo mode freezes time

I don't disagree; I had to stop playing it like an RPG entirely. I do believe it's a good action/adventure story game though. First 2 are much better RPGs

I still find things like Morrowind and Oblivion to be 10x more immersive because of all the stupid shit that you can interact with

Last time we were able to climb trees in a game there was nothing interesting to do/find in said trees.

Assassin's Creed killed the idea that trees are interesting things to climb/use.

...

Ah yes, CD"so many people pirated Witcher 2 that we had no choice but to get help from console makers"PR just LOVE the PC community.

>Moving through foliage doesn't push the foliage aside like in real life
>Moving through water doesn't work like it should in real life

TOP KEK

It's a really basic physics element that the engine completely lacks, it's not even that it's a basic version of the physics, it literally doesn't exist.

We can assume it's completely missing from the engine because adding it to water would have very little performance impact and they couldn't even do that.

No, you moron it's completely not there.

He's referring to the lack of ripple propagation when Aloy walks through water or brush reacting to her movement.

Minor things that are suddenly massive, gamebreaking things when most people don't even notice foliage moving in AC4 or ROTTR.

No it's not.

You'd be better off if the games just displayed the resolution they're actually rendering at. A ps4 pro is a 1440p 30fps gaming machine. It would look better actually playing games at 1440p/ 3k when it can manage it than the checkerboarding does for it

It's a stupid story but it's at least unique. I've never played anything like that.

>Knocking back an enemy and they'll go through rocks like it was nothing

TOP KEK

Same with Dices games. Everyone brags about endor on battlefront but it's all static lighting and no physics. Still less impressive than Crysis

>obsolete pc garbage
like the 1.7ghz ps4? which needed an upgrade? to a ps4 pro?

What's the problem here? Sounds like the villains of this tale were two genocidal fuckers who happened to be white?

And in the real world white males have repeatedly attempted genocides, so the game isn't really doing shit we've haven't seen in reality.

Devs make more money on Steam than consoles. And console users pirate too, more even, since it's a casual market.

Sounds like the white general had his shit together.

>that fucking fog
lmao

>only white males genocided people
How dumb can you get.

It doesn't lack basic physics. It lacks minor environmental things.

It has physics for everything that matters, and on fixed hardware that type of prioritization is key. It's how they've gotten the framerate and frametiming under control. Same reason why they didn't opt for GI.

Definitely looks really good. Too bad it plays like bland garbage and isn't worth owning. Another Order 1886.

Garbage game for garbage fanboys

>lense flares
>specular lighting
>no shadows
>sprite grass
>10 meter draw distance
shit graphics.

Doesn't matter. Horizon rapes outdated witcher. Hell, even Second Son looked better.

>Intelligent race creates artificial race and there's conflicts until people lose their shit and do stupid, potentially self-destroying, things for the sake of destroying the artificial race

It's fucking Mass Effect

This is not true. Several major publishers have put out their numbers and console sales are more profitable. Both immediately at launch and in the long term.

PC is subject to too many severe price cuts and consumer waiting that ultimately hurts the bottom line.

>literally says "buttery smooth" in reference to 30fps on both systems
>less than a minute later he's talking about how the menu, in 60fps, makes the experience smoother and more responsive.

Fromsoft need to use this pronto.

Their fucking engine is absolute shithouse. Dark Souls on this engine would've been able to run 120fps on PS4 considering how assy and flat it looks.

This is an open world game for fucks sakes.

stop fucking pirating games and devs will care more about PC :)

Someone post the cactus WEBM

I said a really basic physics element, which considering it's been standard for over a decade, it's pretty fucking basic.
