pic related. old games are also fine.
oblivion would be a good example, but it lacks big plains, and skyrim lacks green.
What games let you explore a comfy countryside?
stalker
Arma 3
Fable.
Everybody's Gone to the Rapture I guess although it's pretty linear and it does whatever it can to keep you as bored as possible.
Maybe check out some hunting games instead
Witcher 3
Gothic
Witcher 1/3
Fable
Mountain Blade
ArmA if you don't mind occasionally stepping on a land mine
>Gunshots and screams in the distance
>Moaning of monsters
>Gray, oppressing weather
Its only comfy when you're inside a bunker.
no mans sky best walking sim
Everybody's Gone To The Rapture. I actually quite enjoyed it, but the walk speed is ridiculously slow. It's set in a village on the countryside, so it's probably the closest you'll get.
reminds me of home...
holy shit i need to play stalker, thanks.
arma 3 is a little too military focused tho, and isn't it mission based? i'm thinking more of an adventure game kinda thing.
also obviously zelda breath of the wild has the nice countrysides, but can't get a wii u or switch, so rip that.
Gothic 2 has some of that.
Farm Simulator
i hate walking sims, but the setting might be just enough so that i can enjoy it, thanks.
i also need to play gothic at some point, tried it once and the controls were really weird so i gave up on it, should go back.
also while the witcher 3 is breathtaking with it's environments i hate the "follow the dotted line" syndrome it gives you.
...
Arma3 has an editor/free roam mode. Arma2 is super comfy as well.
TW1 has some open areas, and is a lot more of a traditional/adventure type, but I suppose it's bit of the same case as Oblivion.
ahh nice, i didn't know that, i'm probably gonna get one of the arma games soon then, thanks.
and since you mentioned two worlds i actually played it last year and even though every single thing about it sucked ass i still enjoyed it because of the environments, although i don't know why there are so many foggy days in that game, it was really annoying.
i might try two worlds 2 at some point, but from what i remember when i played it some time ago it took place mostly in a desert, so idk.
Outtera
The Hunter : Call of The Wild
There's 3 different islands in TW2, which are gradually unlocked via storyline progression. Each island has a different biome, the first island is the desert area. Having reached the second island you get your hands on a sailboat and can use it to sail around and explore the smaller islands.
The thing is, most of the third and largest island is accessible in multiplayer only.
The game also has a very nice DLC set in an archipelago, where the sailboat plays a larger part.
Game also crashes a lot, at least on my part.
>Gray, oppressing weather
Miseryfags GET OUT
Thehunter call of the wild
Runescape
outtera is pretty nice, but since it's just a piece of technology instead of a game, it's hard to stay interested.
oh man, i forgot about the hunter game, i've always wanted to play a fairly realistic hunting game, i'm gonna try this one out for sure, is it too janky though?
well that's both good and bad news then, i'm probably gonna give it a shot, but being locked out of all that green because it's multyplayer only feels really bad, man.
If you're not too into the game, I'd just play the desert areas and the dlc, they're the best parts of the game imho. The DLC is separate, so you can play it at any point.
Witcher 3
Sir you are being hunted
any place with other stalkers is comfy, user
the comfiest being that first camp you encounter a few minutes into the game
when i first came there and saw the stalkers sitting around a camp fire, shooting the shit, playing tunes... i was the comfiest i'd ever been
