I mean Gherman was pretty fucking amazing but Ludwig and Maria are just as good.
Lawrence's second phase caught me off guard and was a nice twist on what I thought the fight was going to be.
Just a good DLC.

The DLC really tied everything together nicely. I literally can't think of a complaint. Good length, awesome bosses, good amount of new weapons and armor and just enough exposition for the base game to make that much more sense.
Regarding the fuckers in the well I did them last after downing all the DLC bosses just for revenge as they kicked my ass earlier. Now I have a skill character who will actually need to beat them a bit earlier. Will see how that pans out.

I'm wondering if new game+ starts up right after you beat the game or can you run around in post game like in dark souls 2 and 3
i don't want to fuck it up lock myself out of the dlc, also what level should I be at to tackle the dlc?

You will notice something's up in the dream when shit's about to go down. It doesn't let you run around after beating the final boss and will go directly to cutscene -> NG+, so if you want to complete DLC do it now. What level for DLC depends. I started it on a blind specced (pretty poor) character on level 80-90 and it was fine, but for my properly specced character I went a bit earlier. It's the same as the rest of the game, if youre underleveled bosses might kill you quicker, but they will still take decent damage and there are effective tactics. If you can beat the entire Nightmare of mensis I'd say you're definitely good to go.

Best thing out of arcane is augur of ebrietas and the hunter's bone. Everything else is negligible, only spell that makes a difference is a call beyond (and you need 40 arc to use it)
