Otherwise, if it has to be the actual game, I guess I'd add a villain with a clear motivation to be present throughout the game.

The game was piss easy, however nomura's vision looked even darker than the game we got. His game truly would've been an incestuous hybrid of KH and FF.

XV was darker than anything we saw in Versus. Versus HUD in 2011 was pasted in and it was no longer a command menu by 2013. Ardyn hanging up dead corpses of MCs dad and waifu from the ceiling is the darkest thing in FF yet.

No it was not. Nothing in Versus is darker than what we see in the final game.

The dead corpses were a nice touch, but the only one I really hated to see up there was nyx. He sure as shit didn't deserve that. Yet Noct and the boy's reaction to it was less than stellar. Like they didn't even care that people they loved were suspended from the damn ceiling.

As for dark, the first trailer has Noct breaking a soldiers neck and stabbing one through the chest, with actual bloodshed. The soldiers in that trailer were human rather than robot zombies and there isn't any blood in XV.

Those soldiers were already changed to robots during Versus in the 2011 trailer they didn't bleed in that either. Nyx snaps necks and kills in kingsglaive too but I don't see people going "waaaaa so dark sugoi". Different enemies have different color blood in XV, some purple, some dark blue, some black, some light blue, some red.

Noctis and co looked past the dead bodies to show they've matured and Ardyn won't get a rise out of them. It's in contrast to few chapters earlier where he was running at him swinging while falling into Ardyn's trap.

Really though despite the shitposting here the game wasn't bad at all. It's the same good but not great level of quality every major FF since X-2 has been (with the original XIII being the exception).

This. 1000x this. I was massively disappointed when I realized they removed the ability to play as the other guys. I was even more disappointed when I realized that the 4 were the only permanent reoccuring party members. I want to roll deep like I did in FFVI. They have the cast and the interactions between them all would be amazing.

I think they will implement character switching once all DLC's released.
