Name another game where the antagonist wins in the end

...

Final Fantasy XII actually

FF XIII-2.

>"Here's a character self-sacrificing enough to take all the parasites within him, which may very well kill him, but not self-sacrificing enough to skip the crown."

Doesn't make scents. Other than that, pretty cool character.

Final Fantasy XIII-2.

Doesn't really count because of XIII-3. That's like claiming because of ESB Sheev won

To be fair, he took the parasites in because he was promised ascension.....he got kinda fucked on that deal.

Oh, I must somehow have missed that piece of information. It does make sense when you know that. Thanks.

Nothing that happens in LR undoes or undermines Caius' accomplishments. He still achieved what he set out to do. LR is about picking up the pieces afterwards.

that's because the only way to actually get the core plot of the game is to read random magazines scattered throughout the world

But yeah, basically he cured a shit ton of people and then when he tried to go to the afterlife the gods said, "nah, fuck you"....so his response was "oh no.....fuck you"

Vayne didn't win, he loses half the things he set out to do.

Not entirely true either.

FFV

Wait how'd he win? I never finished the game.

...

Ace Combat 4

you were the villain the whole time

kills off the line of Lucis

Everything he set out to do he succeeded in, every bad thing that ever happened in Noctis's life stem from Ardyn too even since childhood.

...

FF VI.
Terra and friends saved a world were basically half the population already died, and there was nearly nothing left to save, so I would say that Kefka won overall.

Brings ruin to the world, forces the summons to make Noctis to do his duty (which will kill him), and finally gets the death he's been denied for years. So basically, he gets everything he wants with Noctis none the wiser.

Mewt was a whiny little shit though

Because he is immortal, deep down he wanted to finally die, but this only happens if he is killed by a member of the Lucis royal family. But he also had the goal of wanting to end the Lucis royal family, which works out for him, since in order to purge the world of the darkness, Noctis has to give up his life to do so.

So he set out to ruin the world so Noctis would have to die to save it, and be the villain so Noctis could kill him so he could finally rest in peace. He succeeded in all of this.

That's the opposite of what antagonist means.
