In general for some reason P5's lyrics are less laughably and noticeably Engrish to me than P3/4. I suppose their singer does a better job at making it sound more natural. For some of the songs, like Beneath the Mask they genuinely sound like they were done by native speakers excepting a few lines.

Clearly you haven't. The Mementos theme is barely audible whatsoever. It's almost always being talked over, and never plays for more than 10 seconds before you get into an encounter because of how close enemies are together in Mementos.

As I said though, you will almost never hear the Mementos theme since P5 quietens the volume of the music when people speak and there are literally hundreds of Mementos conversations playing one after another to the point where you will never ever hear much of it at all. It's harmless and if anything it's a good thing the worst piece of music is the one you hear the least of - you can stop exaggerating considering it's literally the sole bad piece of music in the whole game.
And once again I'd like to remind you to get your ears checked if you seriously think the battle theme is bad.
