The Sorrow was the "Spirit Medium Soldier" of the Cobra Unit. Although he had no actual unique combat abilities like the other Cobras, The Sorrow was gifted with the powers of a medium. He was able to summon the dead and assume their combat abilities by bringing their spirits into himself. Communicating with dead soldiers also gave him several advantages during a battle, such as learning of enemy positions. Like the other Cobras, his codename reflected the emotion he brought to the battlefield.
The Sorrow was born sometime during the early 1900s to early 1910s. Sorrow and The Boss fought together as part of the Cobra Unit during World War II and participated in the Allied landing at Normandy in 1944. During D-Day, The Boss was pregnant with her and The Sorrow's child and she gave birth to their son, who was then taken from them by agents of the Philosophers.
The Sorrow was gifted with the use of ESP and precognition, as well as having medium powers. It was said that he could determine the outcome of the battle and strategize what would most likely happen next simply by communicating with the dead. After his death, he could summon angry spirits, as well as return them to the other side. He could make himself only seen by certain people.
The ghost of The Sorrow was always smiling whenever Naked Snake saw him, with not one occasion where there was a frown upon his face. Conversely, The Boss, a.k.a. The Joy, rarely smiled during the events of the Virtuous Mission and Operation Snake Eater.
Mads Mikkelson is perfect fit for Sorrows character. Everything speaks for Death Stranding to be the new Metal Gear Solid.
When do you think kojima schizos will give up the ghost? 2020? after his next game?
Ryan Martinez
I don't think you know what schizo means

Sorrow from MGS 3 will be in Death Stranding confirmed
Henry Flores
I like MGS as much as the next guy, but for fuck's sake guys, let it go. I could over-analyze the trailer just as much as you did and draw out why it points to being a new Silent Hill game. Hell, Mikkelsen's character makes a facial pose almost exactly like Maria on the cover of the SH HD collection cover, but you don't see me jumping up and down all around like an autist with my conspiracy pictures.
Michael Wilson
> like Maria on the cover of the SH HD collection cover,
what
The description in the OP atleast makes sense unlike yours.
The Sorrow represents a spooky uncanny soldier, he is male, he uses special powers like ESP to control dead soliders and the atmosphere is filled with screaming dead voices. Sorrow appear on the battlefield and where death is most present.
Norman Reedus represents the stranded child Jack which is also related to MGS.
You sound like you never played any MGS or have fuck all a connection to point out that is remotely close with logic behind it.

I wish this was true but what is jack got to do with it? Would his gameplay parts be metaphoric? Is del toros character the agent of the patriots? I can see why you might try to make a connection but mikkelsons character had night vision or thermal goggles something which they didn't have in ww2. But when was kojimbo ever historical accurate?
Angel Scott
the trailer with Norman shows Jack with a baby, that's his son taken away from him by the Ludens. That gives him a reason to go after them as he is curious who the floating guys are in the Sky and why he disappeared.
>del toros character the agent of the patriots? probably one of the agents of the philosophers / patriots
>night vision or thermal goggles something which they didn't have in ww2. But when was kojimbo ever historical accurate? Yeah that game is ment to be sci-fi ww2 style setting so whatever he tries to mix in that will happen. Or it's just the power of Sorrow to use items from another dimension or world.

I want to believe. It would be such a big fuck you to jewnami. It could also redeem Kojima after the flawed phantom pain. I hated that there was only 2 zones and it was a spread sheet simulator.
Easton Bell
Fuck off you delusional tranny.

Ok, Mikkelsen is the embodiment of Silent Hill itself, much like Maria was. Is that better? Do I need to draw any more connections for your autistic ass? And for that matter, he wasn't just a "spooky uncanny soldier" he was a medium, as in he simply communicated with the dead. He never personally brought the dead back to life and made them march upon the living. The most paranormal thing he did was appear posthumously as a spirit. Why would The Sorrow suddenly turn into a seemingly malevolent being? My point is, how is what I'm saying any less farfetched?
Christian Morales
I dunno guys. Couldn't Konami sue his ass off if his references aren't incredibly vague?
Alexander Bell
Some really hate MGSV TPP for being unfinished and wierd put in together episodes. But I feel like it was done on purpose. There are so many wierd things happening in that game, almost like to let Konami never find a possible follow up and they ended up doing Metal Gear Survive with Zombies which has clearly nothing to do with mgs.
Overall I thought game was fine besides the mentioned things and Konami didn't really care to maintain alot after release like the FOB etc. which had a lot of potential.
