Whatever happened to the whole PS2 on PS4 thing? There hasn't been a release in months.

There were some games added like two months ago. Star Ocean is coming in a few months, and a few things were rated in EU recently so expect those next month or two.

Apparently NA got some side scrolling shoot em up or something yesterday or something, and there's a few more games in the pipeline like Ape Escape 3, the Summoner games, Star Ocean Til the End of Time and such. In any case it was nice to get some games that never got released in PAL regions thanks to this but they're a bit pricey on the whole.

I can't believe they charge this much when these games look and play better on my shitty laptop for free. I'd be willing to pay $2-$5 a game but this is ridiculous when I'm basically only buying them so I can play them on my PS4.

They look and play just fine though. And if you're that poor just keep emulating. There's literally no reason to buy these except for convenience

Is there a reason they can't just have the PS4 read a PS2 disc, download the emulator from the store, and only let you play when the disc is in like the Xbone does with 360 games?

Most games are buttery smooth with graphics enhancements at 6x resolution with widescreen hacks on my laptop. Who gives a fuck about trophies.

PS3 version is a terrible port from the smartphone version and also has a physical release for some reason
PS4 version is straight emulation of the PS2 version, which means it has the original lighting effects missing from later ports but suffers from the terrible PS2 GTA control scheme
