I've sort of turned around on them.
I used to consider them on of the big evils due to uPlay and intrusive DRM, but everyone is doing intrusive DRM anyway and uPlay is actually pretty decent these days.
Furthermore, they haven't done any downright evil shit like EA or Bethesda to the point of me shunning their products, their most grievous crimes tend to be the occasional mediocre or rushed buggy title, and on the later they actually have had the decency to go and patch their games to a playable state.
I can't be mad over For Honor or Ghost Recon or whatever because these kind of titles don't appeal to me, but as long as they make the occasional Prince of Persia, Rayman, Assassin's Creed (my go too AAA guilty pleasure series) and the odd little experiment such as Grow Home, they're alight in my book.

I haven't actually played Syndicate yet, so I can't really comment on it. But I've enjoyed most of the other ACs so far.

I've enjoyed every AC except Black Flag and Syndicate. Black Flag has some good DLC, though.
