So was Nintendo's marketing a success this time?
They at the very least made sure everyone knows it is a new console unlike the fuck up with the Wii U.

Legitimately thought the pic on left was a Sims screenshot
yea, their initial shipment is sold out. the problem is that people were also excited about the wii u, i expect we'll see plenty of people get a switch and a month or so later be complaining about the lack of games to play on their switch.
Wii u was such a blunder.
Looks like Nintendo is trying to do the opposite of what went wrong with the Wii U.
If anything they are less worried about sales now and more focus on the holiday season when they will have a bigger inventory, bigger library, and fucking Mario coming out.
but even then it's not really enough, look at it from a normie point of view. they're not gonna care about snipperclips or the other indie games being used to pad out the library. i mean yea by the holiday season there will be splatoon 2, MK8, skyrim, mario and maybe fire emblem heroes but that's about all the games i could see normies really being excited about and even for heroes i dont think hyrule warriors was all that big among normies and that had the might of the LoZ brand name behind it.
My mom understood what it was and asked me about it so I'd say the marketing was successful this time around. By the time E3 arrives it'll be clear Nintendo has some serious shit in store to continue the hype up for winter and 2018.
A lukewarm launch reception won't be good though. Journalists will try to spin it like it's the Wii U 2.0 and that stigma won't be good. People might be more hesitant to pick it up this holiday and wait and see how it fairs into its next year
It's a handheld.
1,2 switch should of been bundled in the switch. its not worth $50
>everyone will just overlook the switch and go back to their mobile phones and tablets
Nintendo is fucked if they think their old thought process can compete with apple.
but then they run the risk of retards thinking the machine is yet another wii reboot
which it is in some ways, but they are trying to downplay it
Their marketing has been pretty successful on Sup Forums.
How else are people expected to view the fucking thing? Nintendo have gone out of their way to let everyone know how chuffed they are with their new portable waggle stick tablet. It's essentially a contemporary version of the Wii.
>it is a new console
How does it show it's new when their main presentation game - 1,2 Switch is another dildo wagglean "game" like those on the wii?
Déjà vu back to 2011 when people said the same thing about the 3DS.
People did avoid the 3DS at first. The 3DS sold like garbage and needed a large price cut before the sales started picking up. Even then, it's a disappointment after the original DS, which is why Nintendo is focusing more and more on the mobile market.
I think so.
Marketing was on point and the message is clear. They actually advertised it out beyond the core demographic and people who aren't necessarily game enthusiasts know what the Switch is. Initial sales will be strong.
That's more to do with fact the 3DS had literally nothing up until its first holiday season. The Switch has at least one substantive release every few months to keep momentum
Nobody was this excited about wii u. Nobody i know had even heard of it myself included until i saw a setup kiosk at bestbuy. Everyone i know wants a switch and we're all extremely excited for zelda and have been all year
i hope you guys know nobody will use it for mobile
Are you retarded, son?
There is literally nothing good besides Zelda in the release calendar.
yeah look at this substantive launch window for the switch
>purposely cutting games out
Not an argument.
Stop nintendoposting
marketing is better than the wii u for sure, but the major question is how well will it do? so far normies in my area have been negative about it. they don't like the idea of paying $300 for a tablet and $60 for handheld tier games.
>Not called the Wii U 2
>Officially called the Nintendo Switch instead of just "Switch" like "Wii" or "Wii U" was
>Using their defining red color
>It actually does what it looks like it does, unlike many people thinking the Wii U game pad was portable
Good marketing for the actual hardware, but it's a shame about the no games thing again. Will be playing Zelda on Wii U and buying their next console as a refurb again.
Look at the official nintendo booth in OP. It's literally a 1,2 Switch promotion stand.

same thing more or less is happening now which isn't surprising, people saw others gouging the wii and making alot of money and now someone somewhere will try with to recreate it with every nintendo launch. of course this could be cause nintendo is pretty notorious for not supplying enough units to meet demand at launch but the parallels can't be ignored.
See, this was the danger of the concept from the beginning. Normies are expecting a standard tablet, and that's really not what it is.
Name 7 games you're looking forward to this year for the Switch.
>Zelda
>Snipclips
>Arms
>Splatoon
>Mario
>Bomberman
>PuyoPuyo
I talked to a few normies at Gamestop and their main issue from what they said that the Switch looks like it's too weak to be a home console but it's lacking in features and and is a bit too expensive to be a $300 handheld. After telling them that the Switch has paid online like PS+ and Pokemon isn't coming out for years then it made then turn their heads away even more.

>Wii U port
>$50 Tech Demo
>Punch Out with gimmicks
>Paid online shooter with drip fed content releases
>Another wahoo bing bing rehash
>Konami game made with Unity
>A 3DS port that's $50-60
Except its not the same at all. Every single console ever has sold out. After the initial sellout of wii u nobody else cared. Now however there are loadsof people who want one at launch and cant get one. That includes all of my normie friends. That was definitely not the case with wii u
>Y-you can't look forward to those games!!!
>Punch Out with gimmicks
So incredibly wrong it reminds me of 2013 when people were calling W101 a Pikmin clone.
>>$50 Tech Demo
>Name 7 games
>THEY DON'T COUNT BECAUSE OF xxxx
It was obvious you were going to say this from the beginning. You argument is weak if all you can do is try and be contrary and try to invalidate actual games.
snipper clips is $20 I thought also the only fun looking gimmick game they showed off
Arms is shit, but its no punch out
You can look forward to them, but you're really grasping straws for games like Vita owners were if you're really excited about ports
Why does everyone talk so much about switch marketing? Why are you faggots so obsessed with the marketing?
It's like the shill level was turned to max.
ALL OF THE DAY BRO
So why is it called the Switch?
What he ask for was for 7 games coming out this year you are looking forward to.
That was it. How was that grasping at straws?
It was a huge success. To normies, the last console nintendo released was the wii, so this is basically the new wii to them.
>Now however there are loadsof people who want one at launch and cant get one.
and how do you know that, your friends want to buy some but my friends are all pretty much apathetic about the switch. i have 3 friends getting the thing and that's only cause they're the types to get damn near every console sony and nintendo release.
this is a new 3DS to normies actually
t. gamestop employee
so when and what number of units sold can we say the switch wont die a slow death
10 million by the end of the year?
Nintendo trying to get feedback about their marketing after they started pandering to Sup Forums
cause when you finish zelda you have to switch to another console to play more games.
Threadly reminder that the Deluxe set of the Wii U was the one that sold out, but the Basic set lined the shelves for ages. Switch has the advantage because all of its units are a single SKU.
The marketing has been great outwith NoA focusing on 12 Switch for some reason
Wii U was a perfect example of what not to do when marketing a game.
People want to see if Nintendo fixed this and how it will play out.
If they get a ton of sales more companies will copy them like they did with the Wii.
are you a child? there's a reason marketing firms can grow to be multi million dollar businesses, if you have a shit product you market the fuck out of it and at launch the switch is a pretty shit product as a gaming system.
>Pay $300 for a Switch, $60 for Zelda, $60 for a pro controller $40 for a large SD card to hold games, $20 for a screen protector, and another $20 for Nintendo's online service
>End up paying $500 not including tax
hope it's worth it
Because the Wii U lost all its third parties due to lackluster sales stemming from terrible marketing. It's generally accepted the marketing caused a domino effect that killed the Wii U.
What's with that.
>NoE want the millennials with Zelda, Snipperclips and Fast
>NoJ want the millennials with Zelda, Rhythm games and DQ
>NoA want the kids using John Cena and 1-2 Switch
Surely they must have seen that this is exactly what they tried with the WiiU and failed miserably
>>Another wahoo bing bing rehash
Fuck off.
>$20 screen protector
20 dollars for plastic
Why did somebody even bother making this image? Anybody who posts the phrase rehash is obviously not going to listen to reason and just wants to shitpost.
Sour grapes
>some autistic kid made that image
>another autistic kid saved it and think is a good idea posting it
