Honestly hard to say, I hold a lot of fond memories for the 8 and 16-bit generations, the middle of the PS1 era when 3D accelerators were affordable and PC games really took off at the same time, along with getting my first 56k modem, that was a real fucking golden age.

Any game would be better without a healer class. All healing ever serves to do is erase mistakes and trivialize encounters. Healers are a role that literally make games less fun for other people because healer players are so braindead they can't handle a role where something might hit them back. Healing can be completely replaced by the ability to block or dodge and while MMO combat becomes more action orientated the need for a healer role is more unnecessary than ever. Maybe if healing was minor or saved for emergencies only it'd be fine, but this will never happen because the purpose of a healer class is to keep all the braindead vegetables subscribed, so devs give them a shit ton of healing so they can feel like they contributed and then demand thank you letters from everyone else. Just because you're so lacking at everything that you are driven to play the boring bitch class doesn't mean you deserve thanks just as you don't deserve thanks for doing your fucking job.

I downloaded Breath of Fire 3 and 4 for my emulator last week. I'm not sure which one to start first. Am leaning more towards 4.

As a video game, it had a ton of features, unique music, world tour mode, extra characters, and was a better package than almost any fighting game pre-Soul Calibur.

The order doesn't matter, but 4 is a lot easier.
They're both great games though, I almost feel tempted to replay them myself...

How are the Ace combat games on PS1? Which one should I start with? I remember those games being all the rave back then but I never got into them.

People will try and tell you to skip the PS1 games, but ignore them. The first one is the most dated and is basically an arcade port so don't expect too much, but 2 is absolutely worth playing, the gameplay holds up, the atmosphere and soundtrack are on point. If you're going to play 3, play the recent fan translation, the original western release is an absolute hackjob.

The Saturn port of A3 never even came out in the UK, so unless you were an extreme faggot and had an import saturn with an import copy of A3 (which came out AFTER the fucking nasty-ass Dreamcast version) then, like I said, A3 on PS1 was the only port of the game for a good while.

All I was saying was that, as a PS1 fighting game in a vaccuum, it was one of the best fighting games on that system.
