How are these 1080s?
How are these 1080s?
triple fan is best.
>G1 Gaming
>Ever
Fucking 60 degree temps while idle
90 under duress
...
I have a g1 GTX 970 and it has been great.
What? You want a Speccy of it?
I've owned a G1 Gaming 980 and now a 980 Ti. Both of them hit absurd temperatures. The fans are working properly
Why didn't you rma it? Gigabyte is perfectly fine as long as it's not a rx480
sounds like your systems are just built with shit airflow
speccy + pic of case insides.
Sure the G1 is not the very best one, but let's not exaggerate, 72C at max load.
94C is fucking insane for a video card.
what is going on with radeons cooling?
why do you even need a 1080
>durr I can run minecraft at 1000 fps
>what are you, poor?
honestly, it's a waste
yes and look at the R9 fury. fuck I hope the new AMD cards have water cooling or I'll just pick that mother fucker up. They're cheap now. can be had for around $250
>honestly, it's a waste
t. poorfag
>honestly, it's a waste
How so?
It's perfect for over 100+fps@1440p
1070 just doesn't cut it
strix
Don't buy one, if you live in an area with high ambient temperate it's gonna keep turning its fan on and off.
Get MSI or Asus.
t. 1080 G1 owner
Idle
Defend this
yeah, spending almost $1000 on a gpu to run games that arent demanding is smart
>980 ti
>one monitor
>60 hz shitsore
literally why
defend your own stupidity
What is wrong with that build other than the monitor?
Gigabyte make shit GPUs, just deal with it.
show me the guts
I bet it's a shitshow
Mines been running all day and idles at 45
...
How the fuck can I make it a shitshow when the only thing I've added is a Noctua cooler to the CPU?
The case has three fans. One at the top at the back and a larger one at the bottom in the front. Then there's the fan on the CPU cooler. Those are common positions. I haven't removed fans.
The Gigabyte 1070 G1s were great, but their 1080s are terrible.
>Hey you're a retard
>But here's no reason why
That kind of logic is actually retarded.
gigabyte makes everthing shitty. had a motherboard of those fuckers. Fried my rams when I wanted to add additional ram into it. fuckers
>what is going on with radeons cooling?
Stock cooler.
>Don't buy one, if you live in an area with high ambient temperate it's gonna keep turning its fan on and off.
You can disable that behavior easily.
That's because you downloaded Russian ram. You have to use reputable ram from US
gigabye's mobos are great you're just a fucking retard like the rest of these morons who probably tried overclocking the shit out of their G1s, even though the G1 line isn't mean for heavy overclocking - then they complain about heat
then again I'm on fucking Sup Forums
Best 1080 is MSI Gaming. Don't get the Gaming X or Z though, both are just factory overclocked regular Gamings. Runs really quiet at low temps, overclocked really well.
Stay away from EVGA until they release their new ICX coolers. The ACX coolers are garbage and defective, had to be fixed via a bios update to increase fan RPM making them extra loud.
>he only uses his for games
t. brainlet.
>Doesn't play on a 1440p 144hz monitor.
Once you upgrade to the soon to be new standard for PC gaming monitors, you'll realize you need a good fucking GPU to get the most out of it.
nvidia has stock coolers as well.
are radeons coolers that fucking bad?
No it's not, Asus one's the best, obviously.
Stock cooler + shit efficiency + furmark = 94°C
The 290X really used a fuckton of power. But again, this is a 4 year old card.
Just fucking kill yourself already
No one overclocked shit, mongoloid
yep just like that retard complaining about fried ram
what kind of a fucking dickhead manages to fry their fucking ram
Gigabyte's motherboards and cards are great. You're just a fucking imbecile. I've never heard of anyone complain about heated up G1s or fucking frying their ram outside of fucking Sup Forums.
Coming off 3 generations straight of SLI really makes these idle temps seem like a dream
that makes no sense
holy shit I'm done
and just as I called you out for being something of an average brainless Sup Forumsermin, you just had to go and prove it
just another fucking retard who doesn't know how to care for their PC
> You can disable that behavior easily.
How?
>who probably tried overclocking the shit out of their G1s, even though the G1 line isn't mean for heavy overclocking - then they complain about heat
Ditto.
I've been building PCs since before you were born.
You can see from the Speccy that you're completely fucking wrong. There is absolutely no chance those heat problems could be caused with fans being in common positions and all working unless the case is completely airtight.
Gigabyte have dropped their game significantly in recent years. Now I believe I told you to kill yourself.
Just show the guts already you fag.
>Doesn't play on a 1440p 144hz monitor.
> Once you upgrade to the soon to be new standard for PC gaming monitors, you'll realize you need a good fucking GPU to get the most out of it.
To play what game? It's 1000$ to play 2 years old games?
>I've been building PCs since before you were born
If this is true then it's fucking sad how long you've remained a complete moron.
>Gigabyte have dropped their game significantly in recent years. Now I believe I told you to kill yourself.
No they haven't, in fact their fans and cooling in general have gotten better, as have their motherboards.
>1080ti is just around the corner
What are you doing op.
I use to trust EVGA but they fucked up. Who do I trust now?
getting one of these for $200AUD off
no doubt the 1080ti's price will be well over $1200 - and I'm getting a g1 1080 for $800
gigabyte is alright
...
really made me think
>soon to be new standard
you said it. Soon to be is not now. When it becomes the standard , mainstream gpus will be available to push it . No need to get cucked by nvidia and spend 1000 on a gpu.
Must be your fans setup. My Gigabyte GTX 1080 was idling at 40ºC and hitting almost 70ºC with this fan setup: 2 120mm fans on the fron of the case sucking air inside, 1 radiator + 120mm fan in the back sucking air inside and then just 1 120mm fan at the top to blow out the hot air (the radiator + fan were blocking the space for another fan to take out the hot air).
It was awful and my PC kept high temeperatures for so long and it raised the temperature by the slightest of reasons possible.
But after my watercooler started to show problems (loud bubbling noises and then almost no liquid inside), I had to take it off and switch to the good, old and reliable Hyper TX3 Evo.
Now that I have more space in the case, I added another fan at the top to take out the hot air, changed the fan in the back to also take out the hot air and kept the 2 fans at the front to suck air inside.
It still idles at 35ºC but I still haven't seen it going beyond 60ºC. CPU temperature has also lowered quite well, managing to hit higher than 60ºC if there is heavy loading. Otherwise, it maintains the same temperatures as the GPU.
But I do have to say that when the GPU reaches high temperatures, the sound of the fans is reeeeaaally annoying.
>yes and look at the R9 fury.
The reference cooler of the R9 Fury is a water cooler, that's why it's so low. The R9 290 uses a reference cooler that is effective at cooling the VRMs but struggles to keep the temperature down meanwhile certain aftermarket coolers decrease the temp well but the VRMs get very hot because cooling them properly is hard.
Whats the trick here?
Why does the windforce cost less than any other version?
slower base clock
2 small fans
can't be overclocked all that much
WAIT user, today nvidia announces the GTX 1080ti
>IT'S ALMOST TIME
>#ULTIMATEGEFORCE
It's relatively worse. The heatsink is more simple, only two fans, worse VRMs(which results in more coil whine), no Gigabyte gauntlet cherrypicking(only higher quality silicon gets selected for the G1, while the ones that fail are used for the Windforce series).
Gainward.
>he doesn't have a passive-cooled card
290x was well known to have an abysmal stock cooler relative to its thermal output. Better-than-Titan performance crippled by thermal throttling issues and annoyingly loud to boot. Of course, almost all stock coolers are trash to begin with and partner boards are almost always the way to go, but the Hawaii chip in particular had problems in this respect.
