Which controller is the best?

which controller is the best?

The one you posted, OP.

That's it. The menu and option button actually makes sense unlike the share and start button on the DS4.

took my xbox 360 controller about 4 years to break. Bought another one and the buttons feel like shit compared to the previous one. Also i had to make the first repair after 3 months.
Does those faggots at microsoft want me to buy the new one or what?

I like the dualshock 4, cause my hands are small, it's the best for claw grip, and since I don't play shooters with my controller the symmetrical analog sticks are much more comfortable

I very much enjoy the Dualshock 4.

Different controllers are best for different thing.

I use a mix of Gamecube controller, steam controller, and X1 controller on my PC

I don't get it. My hands rest in a position that covers the analogue sticks of the xtroller, the DS4 feels unnatural to me. Guess it's just one of those things that's specific to people.

xbox 360 is the best value

xbox one s is better in terms of feel and refinement over the 360 and has the 3.5mm audio port and bluetooth but is also more expensive as a result.

depends what you're after. features or simplicity.

>3.5mm audio port and bluetooth but is also more expensive as a result

Yeah, if you have the 2015 revision. I'm still salty that they released an improved version of it with cool features. Thing costs 50 euros here.

Xbox one/360 controller.

Steam and Xbone

Depends

>Racing games
Wheel

>FPS
Steam controller (if we're talking purely controllers, otherwise M+KB)

>Fighting games
Fighting stick or gamecube controller

>Games that usually require m+kb
Steam controller

>Everything else
360 controller for value
X1 controller for features

Gotta go with the Xbox One s Controller.
Bluetooth, 3.5mm, and has default drivers on Windows 10 make it great for both my Xbox and PC.

Dualshocks just seem small to me, us the touchpad on the 4 is gimmicky af

>>Fighting games
>Fighting stick or gamecube controller
Dumbest thing I've ever read. Stupid smash babby.

I preferred microsoft controllers until I bought a PS4. Ds4 just feels way nicer to me now, though my Hori xbone controller is what I still use for pc

>windows 10

don't like that you need their proprietary adapter to get wireless audio

>since I don't play shooters with my controller the symmetrical analog sticks are much more comfortable
Fucking nonsense. Stick layout makes no difference.

I'll talk about controllers on PC since any controller on a console is what you're stuck with unless you like third party shit. (and third party is pretty much always ass so not worth talking about)

It goes like this:
For plug and play instant usability on PC: Xbox 360
For a comfy PC experience: With a superior DPAD over the 360 controller-- (Install DS4Windows) and use a PS4 controller

The Xbox One controller would be an upgrade over the 360 controller but the dpad breaks after a few months and Microsoft is a bunch of cucks, replacing the controller is like pulling teeth and virtually impossible. I really enjoyed the ergonomics of it but the controller is built like shit and breaks, at least the 360 and DS4 last a long time.

>implying GameCube controller isn't perfectly laid out for any fighting game that doesn't require input combos

I'm still trying to get use to DS4. It's feels like a toy.

This is pretty much it. This user gets it. I recommend DS4 but 360 controller is very cheap and easy if you're poor.

>Buy Xbox Elite controller because it's supposed to be premium quality
>6 months later after lots of Rocket League, the R1 breaks and is now loose and you can literally remove it and put it back in place but it keeps falling out

Thanks Microsoft.

it's better for claw grip, which is in turn better for everything but some shooters

Can you even make smooth quarter motions with that stiff ass d-pad? Not to mention the awkward button placements.

>Buy Xbox elite controller

dumbass

I actually managed to get Bluetooth audio to work, but the quality it absolute ass

yeah it took getting used to. but my hands just rest more naturally on the stick placement now and I do prefer the face buttons all being at the top. I think the triggers and bumpers feel way better than xbone too.

I got really used to it by playing project diva, that game would be a nightmare on an xbone controller

got very close to getting an elite controller, but then i heard of all the QC problems it had. so i just went with the new bluetooth version instead.

well that sucks too, hopefully it gets an update to work. as it stands I just plug the controller in anyway, could have gone without buying the 1st party battery pack 2bh

pro controller

>tfw wired 360 pad I got in 2006 is still working
Shit is built like a tank

I don't like how the Boner feels over the 360 but I still prefer DS2 over both.

what games use analog triggers that click like a button when bottoming out?

Rip, I just use AAs. I haven't tried to use it anytime recently and I've had a few firmware updates. I wouldn't expect it to be better, though, cuz there's only so much bandwidth on Bluetooth and it prioritizes input over the audio.

cheapskate reporting in.

>having this shit of opinion
nintendo shill fucking kys

>Has scalable triggers

My LG has ps1-tier shoulder buttons, get on my level

For current gen consoles, that one. Definitely. It's worth owning more than the bone itself is.

Overall though, Saturn controller.

i really like the DS4 but it keeps disconnecting at random ass times for half a second when connected to my PC via USB. i'm not sure what the problem is, and google never helped.

>fighting game
>d pad

W E W

>tfw your Xbone pad's RB became faulty after 3.5 years of service
>No way to fix this since the controller can't be opened
RIP you magnificent bastard.

I ordered the Elite for $80 yesterday. Did I fuck up?

I have one too. It's a shame the triggers are unusable or it would be my go to controller.

>older version of the controller is great but have a few glaring issues
>never version of the controller is great but has a few glaring issues

Damn you Logitech.

Can we all agree the 360 controller is incredibly overrated?

as opposed to what?

>3.5mm audio port and bluetooth

Why would I want that?
I have an audio jack already and wireless is shit since you have to replace the batteries all the time.

I like:

350=DS4>>Xbone>DS3

I don't really mind any of them though. Even the DS3 I love for its insanely long battery life.

I really like the 360 controller.

Xboner, DS4, cheap Chinese controllers, DS3.

if you actually bothered to read the post it clearly states about preference. if you want the extra features buy it, if you don't then don't buy it. simple as.

I can't get used to the grips of the Steam Controller.

Meh. $80 is still more than I'd pay for it.
I hope you didn't buy one thinking it would make you play better.

It's cheaper than all of those, does what they all do equally good or better and is literally unbreakable.

360 is basically on par if not a very tiny bit worse than the x1 controller in terms of feel. the ds4 and ds3 are complete garbage because of that stick layout and also the triggers. chink controllers are also fucking garbage.

Bought it because my 360 controller's left shoulder button is starting to become unresponsive. I only play single player games with a gamepad so I don't care about playing better, I just want something comfortable.

>unbreakable.
>mine has received two analog repairs, one for each
>d-pad started to lose its "clickiness"

You aren't supposed to shove controllers up your ass and expect them to still work properly though, user.

If you're only using it on PC, then yes, you're an idiot.
If you have an xbone you'll get much more mileage out of it considering it's main selling point is customization witch is a non-issue on pc.

the one you're used to.

It's pointless arguing about personal preference.

Yeah no.

>unusable d-pad
>no detachable cable(well, at least not an overpriced proprietary cable)
>digital only buttons
>clunky huge battery compartment that makes it heavy as fuck
>start/back buttons are shit
>shoulder buttons are pretty uncomfortable if you have long fingers

Don't get me wrong. It's a decent controller. But people speak as if it's the only controller worth having when it can't even play anything other than most modern games with 3D mechanics. Which limits it A LOT.

The DS3 is kinda meh as well, but I'm I'm gonna be honest I'll take a okay d-pad and shitty triggers over mediocre triggers and a unusable d-pad.

9/10 of times even though I have both I'll have my DS3 plugged in since it can just do a fuckload more. And unlike most xinput controllers. are really easy to rebind due to the drivers.

i don't even treat mine well yet my controller from all the way back in 08 is still usable today. the only issues i have is the left bumper is all gunked up and doesn't click anymore but it still works when pressed and the left analog button doesn't always press down after i opened it and tried cleaning it but ended up bending the metal around the stick which control the button press of the analog. in 9/10 games these aren't issues unless you're playing some fast paced cawadoody and need a super responsive left bumper and L3 button.

>DS4
>durable
b8 crab

for what games?

might be your usb cable. Try getting a new one see if it stops.

I don't have an opinion, so I just pick the #1 from the amazon rankings for controllers.

It's the wired version of the xbox 360 controller.

Xbox controller S
This is not debatable

This

i tried using 3 different cables and they all have been doing it. maybe all 3 of the cables are bad? i don't know. i can sit here and wiggle the hell out of the cord while idling and it won't disconnect, but when i'm playing stuff it's liable to just drop a connection suddenly. i also tried two different computers and it does the same thing

If you play on PC, most games only support XInput controllers. So XBox360 controller is the safest and most pain free choice.

Get an xbone d-pad or unistall your drivers and try another ones

Xbox one.

The Xbox one elite is better but it's not worth the price.

are you using DS4? which drivers do you use

...

its not the cable. the input usb for the ds4 is trash tier
i had to buy a bluetooth ds4 thing for my computer.. no problems anymore. fuck that usb port

I hate controllers that don't use ABXY. If you play say Neptunia and they ask you to open something with the yellow Y button, you're like oh shit~ which one of these NUMBERS is equivalent to the Y button? Fuuuuuuuck~ This is what happened to me when I tried playing it on PC with my DS4. Which one of these shapes is equivalent to the A button? (Fuuuuuck....) Literally un-playable.

hmm i'd prefer to have it plugged in all the time but i guess i'll look into bluetooth connection

I don't use them often, generally.

I use them the most in DS because I can run or estus without taking my fingers off of the camera pad.

Not that piece of shit, that's for sure.
