So now that vita homebrew is pretty well developed I'm going to pick up a 3.60 vita.
Give it to me straight, is the 1000 or 2000 model better?

Better screen: 1000
Better battery: 2000
That's about it.
There's definitely more to it than that
What's wrong with go?
...
what style are those on? yotsuba b? are they even on the same style?
basically this
the 2000 is also a little bit lighter, and the non oval buttons are a bit easier to press
don't trust shit like this comparisons where the pictures are taken with each console separately aren't anywhere near that bad
that just looks like shit because of the brightness difference on the screens, and the camera is biased towards one of the two
there is a difference, but this is bullshit, this one is a lot more accurate
>what is white balance
That's one hell of a way to say 1000 is better than 2000 when your top one is magenta.
So basically, OLED screen is noticeably better but it's not enough to forget about the improved battery and light weight of the 2000.
Don't listen to shit posters or idiots who think how cameras work. 1000 has a better screen, but 2000 is battery is superior in every other aspects except for the subjectivity of design. Even then, it's not that the 2000 screen is bad or any sort of anomaly, it's just that it's an entirely different screen technology.
yes
the blacks are much deeper on the 1000 oled, but it also suffers from mura effect, which essentially makes the image a bit cloudy, but it's only really noticeable on all black screens
the 2000 is slightly lighter, with a slightly better battery and slightly better buttons
not massive improvements, but quite nice nonetheless, and they're great if you plan on playing for long periods of time
the main improvement on the 2000 IMO is the non proprietary connector, which is a micro USB one instead of whatever they used on the 1000
>the main improvement on the 2000 IMO is the non proprietary connector, which is a micro USB one instead of whatever they used on the 1000
Being able to use my Anker battery with USB to keep the Vita alive for 60 hours is nice yeah. Planning on doing the same with Nintendo Switch.
The 2000 screen is a bit warmer and less saturated in my experience, but the biggest difference is that the lcd screen literally cannot produce the colour black. Instead you get a dark grey that is supposed to look black when alongside other colours. Playing shovel knight for instance it's very noticeable.
yup, things like that are the main reason the different connector is a big deal for me
when traveling you don't need to bring tons of different cables, and being able to use the same micro USB one for my phone, tablet and Vita to use on a power bank is great
can you not take just the usb-to proprietary part of the 1000 cord and plug it into your portable battery like I do
I don't get this meme
see it's also easier to replace it with literally any other micro USB cable if you end up losing or breaking it
Yes that is technically true because the OLED panel has a wider color gamut and the whites aren't piercing like a field of snow, plus deeper blacks.
2000 = a screen
1000 = premium screen
2000 is not a defect of piss filter as some claim just because they saw some illogical photo "proof" where the white balance is naturally biased towards one of them (that's how cameras work).
so a while back I managed to screw up my vita. It now almost always is pressed right. Not physically, but the vita thinks it is, it's made games completely unplayable. Is there any way to fix this without sending it in to sony?
try blowing some compressed air under your dpad, there could be dirt or something under there
>where the white balance is naturally biased towards one of them (that's how cameras work)
I say that on literally every single thread with retards comparing the two, and it never really matters, because they have absolutely no idea how cameras or the human eye work.
welp, looks like I'm getting a 1000
I had that happen with my analog stick a couple of times. Just try to clean it with something like a toothbrush, and also blowing some air at it. Make sure to clean under the sort of rubber dome lip that's under the actual stick. After that, rotate it for a couple of minutes, and if it's still broken, just keep doing it a few times, cleaning it and then rotating it. It should fix it after a couple of tries.
okay, I'll give that a try. Thanks anons.
I feel like I can snap the 2000 vita in half with minimal effort. It was enough for me to go back to the 1000
also dat oled
Original version is better desu.
No shitty screen and battery lasts more than enough.
lol
>well developed
>when it cant run games past 3.61
Vita 2000 was made so Sony could cut costs. Only thing better is the battery (because the worse screen doesn't use as much.) The 1000 also has the extra memory.
>The 1000 also has the extra memory.
wat
well you can get a vita 2000 new pretty easily imo that seems the best
that said I have a 1000 that was taken care of and I love it
So you can pirate new games now?
