Can a 2500k @ stock, 16GB DDR3 1333, 980 Ti Classified, 1440p res, run Overwatch at 144hz ?
I'm not aware of how demanding the game is and I'm considering a 144hz Gsync display.

Overwatch isn't very demanding at all.
Freesync is the future anyway, Intel will (kind of) support it.
Well I mean maxed, assuming there isn't one setting where going from high to ultra destroys performance
I have a 970 and on epic settings I get over 100 fps
144fps generally requires beasty CPU's.
You'd probably need to overclock to hit that, since your CPU is pretty old now, but it might be doable since it's not a demanding game.
everyone runs on low settings anyway to help input lag.
e z to get 300fps with even shitty pc's

6700k was used which is basically a 2500k with generic 4.5ghz OC, though they did use DDR4 3000, but I don't see that making a difference.
Ah fuck, I forgot the game had input lag.
Yes, but you won't get 144fps without dropping the settings quite a bit.
For reference, my 980 SC gets about 70~ FPS on Epic settings at 1440p.
144fps is a fucking meme.
Found the console retard who probably things BUT MUH EYES CANT SEE HAST 30
>thinking you can see more than 24 fps
Yes you can. Try it yourself. Place your hands out, palms facing inward. Now move your left hand right at 24 fps and your right hand left at 48 fps. Notice how your hands contact each other slightly left of center. This offset from the center is clearly visible to the naked eye and is caused by the difference in framerate.
More of a meme than 4k, but less of a meme than VR.
I dunno about other people, but Reflections often kills the performance most. And then Shadows after that (thought medium to high shadows look good enough anyway).
yes it can, all pro players play in low anyway. A 980ti will eat the game for dinner. The ingame cap of fps is 300. I recommend you to have as much fps as possible to reduce input lag. I just leave AA in high and textures in high with AF 8x. Your pc can play it, have fun and don't rage too much at retarded mains

yes. i have a new build with 6600k that gets nearly 50-60 fps 1080p. i also have 8gb of the shittiest ggr4 ram i was memed on in those pc part picker builds.... with a good gpu 480-1080 4k 60 fps is no problem. its hardly a cpu limited game.
very fun btw. was getting boring but thew newest patch today with server browser, etc makes it fun again. new character soon as well.
A PS4 can run it
There are options in the game that by cranking up to max will not give you any visual upgrade, only eat resources. The game on max on a 460 can reach 100FPS very easy but at 1440p you don't need to max out AA you can lower that, shadow quality you can lower a bit since it scales really bad.
My PC runs fine and I pit it together during the middle of the PS3 lifecycle, runs Overwatch just fine
DON'T PLAY IT
PLEASE
PLAY TF2 INSTEAD
IT'LL RUN ON YOUR PC FOR SURE
I GUARANTEE IT
Turn down dynamic reflections and local fog detail and you should be good.
