Did everyone just forget this game existed?

Did everyone just forget this game existed?

You mean just like the last game? Nobody cared about taht and even less people cared about the sequel

The only legacy of this franchise is the webm of MC killing a canadian.

Entire game is so fucking cringe.

I'd buy just about anything else. Even Assassin's Creed.

>shitposts about the fat tranny/lady/whatever the fuck it is are the only things I remember about this game

It makes me feel like shit that I share a board with people who bought it.

>Open Steam
>Recent: Very Positive (1,129 reviews)
>Overall: Very Positive (11,201)

I don't understand what you're saying. All of Ubisoft's games sell a decent number of copies for some strange reason. I'm sure the game under performed but people bought it.

its an ubisoft game, what did you expect

its easily done

/spoiler alert
its not like this board is about video games

Consumerist culture. Buy thing, use thing, discard perfectly good old thing thing for shiny new thing.

Watch Dogs 2 was alright, nothing special except for the graphics. It had a huge potential to be special given its themes, but ultimately failed in the end when they go nowhere with it. Marcus was a terrorist and Dusan was a guy doing his job and the story is laid out to make you think you're doing the right thing. I'm not saying I don't like privacy (glad that was a major theme in the story), but there has to be a better way to make that message clear than shooting down the cops and claim that "YOU CAN'T SPY ON ME EVEN THOUGH IM A HACKER". It should have encouraged players to go the non-lethal route instead of shooting through every swiss cheese enemy.

Kind of disappointed that she only appears so little in the game. They had a chance to create a good villain with a shitty appearance that unironically triggered a bunch of fags who forgot that a villain is SUPPOSED to be hated instead of loved.

It turned out to be good so Sup Forums couldn't shitpost about it anymore.

People have already played it and moved on. It's got no glaring flaws to bitch about, so actual discussion of the game has already came and passed. You'll see threads about it whenever it's part of a steam sale.

I got it for free with an SSD. It was way better than the first, and overall pretty fun, but ultimately didn't really stand out in any way.

Whats good about it?

The first one is so much better, it's ridiculous.

its shit and has no innovation in gameplay/story/grapchics. even normalfags dont talk about this shit, even for honor and wildlands have more hype because at least they're coop and multiplayer oriented. anyone who says its good either lying or enjoys eating shit.

No fuckin way. The first was so painfully "safe" and average in every way, not to mention buggy, that I didnt even get through 2 hours. WD2 at least was finishable for me.

>buggy
>durr, patches don't exist
>better to be cringey and gay than "safe"

I was talking strictly gameplay. And it was "grimdark McEdge" or "LOL us hackerz, right?" So both ones were a failure in that sense. WD2 had at least a couple of good moments between the cringe.

I liked that game but God damn of the story isn't cringey as shit. I don't even mean the political shit either. It makes fun of corny hacker films while being a fucking corny hacker video game.

Still thought it was but I pirated it kek.

Please gives me examples of those "good moments".

WD2 is utter shit. No improvements were made, just shifts in focus. They basically saw the success of GTA V and thought "Let's make WD more like that".

Wrench's interaction/love for his hijacked robot is the one that I remember. As I said the game was overall forgettable. I remember chuckling a few times. The most notable improvment imo was the driving was LEAGUES better. WD2 isn't a game I'd recommend for more than 15$, but WD1 is a game I actively recommend avoiding.

I actually liked the first game. Got the second one and the shift in tone fucked it up imo. The edgy dark tone of the first was cringy for some but it fit the world.

I played like 10 hours, mostly roaming around and realized pretty early that there are like 3 types of missions at most. Infiltrate a base, usually involving climbing shit and stealth, fetch quests (bring X vehicle somewhere) and do that puzzle thing in the walls. Missions always involve a combination of these three. They got rid of minigames, the flying drone is OP as fuck, you can get a wallbanging gun pretty early, the driving is shittier, police AI is shittier.

So anyway Watch Dogs 1 had more content and even that game was kinda lackluster in features

except
>online is shit nowhere NEAR gta online
>no tanks
>no jets/planes
>best weapons are le epuc lulz dead sec garbage
>worse music selection
even gta 4 is better at least it has better story dlc

I disagree about the driving. Physics/weight is still off. They just added nitro.

I said "more like". Also,
>unironically defending GTA Online
Good goyim.

I played gta online on my wife's son's husband's (female) ps4. I never paid any money. Meh its still better than anything multiplayer wise ubisoft makes.

Called this fag out and of course he won't reply because he's full of shit.

It's pretty good, don't knock it until you played it

>more content
Indeed.
>chess, poker, cup game, drinking game
>Digital Trips (4 unique minigames. An extra one as DLC)
>more diverse side activities
>audio recordings and privacy invasion

All of that scrapped and replaced with racing. Even the concept of Digital Trips was abandoned, which is a real fucking shame.

>Digital Trips
OH FUCK how could I forget the only fun shit in WD 1. Man jewbisoft is awful

I disagree.

Watch Dogs has very fun multiplayer (the 1v1 Hacking). No grinding for cash to buy a super car or other such overpriced bullshit.

Endless possibilities, and they drop it.

We could've gotten one in space. Spider Tank was fucking awesome, so I know that Ubishit is capable of great ideas sometimes. But no, they'd rather have a more realistic world for their unrealistic game. Fucking morons.

How's GTA multiplayer?

Wd1 multiplayer was pretty good, but they took out the free roam lobby, now you can only coop with one guy.

Forgot the AR games - Cash Run and the alien invaders one.

>now you can only coop with one guy
In WD2? I'm not surprised. They fucked up the multiplayer in almost every way.

I'd like to beat the person who introduced the idea of adding Eagle Vision to WD, and then making it essential to mp.

It was decent. Nothing outstanding, but it was worth pirating.

Yes, most games last year went forgotten.

>They basically saw the success of GTA V and thought "Let's make WD more like that".

You literally have no clue what the fuck your even talking about. Its obvious you've never even played the game. The game can be completed without killing a single person. Can you do that in gtav?

They did fucked up, I go to play wd1 from time to time just so I can have a fun multiplayer session.

Did you guys know that watch dogs was technically a game in the driver series?

I got the first game for free with a GPU upgrade I bought a few years ago, it was fun for a little bit playing gta style running around murdering people and shit but not really anything groundbreaking, why they thought they could make a successful sequel I don't know.

>The game can be completed without killing a single person

Faggot way to play

Goes to show how sensitive this place is about irrelevant shit. Not only she had a minor role in the story, but she was supposed to be annoying, yet Sup Forums shitposted endlessly about it.

>huge focus on clothing customization now
>weapon skins
>vehicle skins
>San Francisco
Fuck off, retard.

*paint jobs

Also, your multiplayer character now shows your equipped clothing instead of being a generic npc.

Same. Aside from the occasional camper or guy who disconnects once he knows you're in his game, it's a ton of fun.

>Like every modern open world game

Wooooow fuck off

>every modern open world game is set in California, with a black protagonist who enjoys fashion

I had a good time with it. On Realistic difficulty playing nonlethal it's a legit good stealth game.

This. Non-lethal/pacifist players are huge fags.

It was alright

I can't be assed to do the multiplayer trophies just for a platinum, though.

This reminds me, what the fuck were they thinking with Bounty Hunter?

Most times, the police kill the guy before you can get to him. Running as the bounty only drains your battery (nitro and scrambling choppers), while camping somewhere is a surefire way to get killed.

Basically, it's no fun. They should've added body armor or something.

Bounty mode is just useless most of the time, wish they could make it last longer than a min or two

Are these threads just one guy who's really pissed about this game and mad that it was successful?

its probably the same person that gets outraged by Lenny and acts like she's a main villain and not just a side character you never interact with again after one mission chain

Oh fuck I also forgot the Digital Trips thing. That shit was better than the actual game.

It was a decent open world game but what else is there to say really? At this point you know exactly what you'll be getting.

>successful
That's generous.

I hope so.

GTA VI should be set in San Fierro, and in order for that to happen this game needs to be out of gamers' consciousness.

I forgot that was a thing.

>2.7mil on PS4 and 1mil on XBoner
>Only counting physical sales and can't include PC because no physical for them
>Not successful

I agree, as far as the singleplayer.

Spider Tank is definitely my favorite, but they're all great fun. Madness took me forever to beat, but it was worth it for the sweet outfit.

>A week after its release, Ubisoft announced that the game had sold 4 million units worldwide
That's WD1, btw.

yeah, and WD1 was hot garbage that didn't deserve the sales it got

WD2 is what the first game should have been, gameplay-wise. Forcing you into gunfights in the first game was fucking moronic.

>muh non-lethal
Get over it. WD1 is the superior game. More content, a better setting and characters, and better multiplayer.

Holy shit, it really is the same guy.

It just didnt stand out due to the over saturated sandbox genre of today. There's games that do missions better, games that do exploration better and games that do physics better.
Nothing's really too wrong with it, but they could have made more efforts to make it unique, maybe take away all guns and give more hacking options, as its weird playing as a dumb memeing teenager and having him kill everyone.
Also better driving controls, why can't uni soft do that?

>we wuz hackers n sheeit
But in all seriousness, after the disappointment the last one was it's no surprise this one fell under the radar.

Got it for free with my 1070 around November
Havent even installed it
Just doesnt seem interesting to me, but Im open to be convinced.

It's be great of it also contained the GTA5 landmass. Just have some dumb excuse like a bridge being built in the past 5 years

>no counterpoints
Thought so.

>make it unique
What's funny is that WD1 is far more unique than the sequel.

I hope GTA VI isn't a disappointment in nearly every way, like V is.

I tried, but it feels bland and nerd culture in it is cringey. Does it have car customization? I would have loved another San Francisco game about decade ago, but now I just don't care to sit through mediocre gameplay

>Tfw the road density will be even lower than that of Los santos

Try driver San Francisco, tons of fun

I just remember the hacker dyke that looked like she was designed by an edgy tumblr mongoloid

Thanks, will do. Tried abruptly for a few minutes several years ago, didn't like the handling, maybe it's time to give it another go

>Watch Dogs 3 announced
>Digital Trips are back
>Abstergo (connection to AC re-established) makes an AC Trip)
>beating it rewards you with Assassin robes
I'm really surprised they didn't do this in WD2. It's a shame they seem more concerned with appealing to the GTA crowd than improving on what made WD1 unique.

There are paint jobs, but that's it. Also, most of the cars are re-used from the first game.

If it was the exact same game except was released by Square or whatever it would probably have been receiveda bit better, a lot of the complaints were mainly about the "SJW" parts but quite a bit of them could have passed as satire if it wasn't made by Ubisoft

The SJ-Dubya parts weren't its only negative aspects.

The driving, 8 ball meore garbage and what else?
I personally thought the city was very well made and the toys to hack were interesting

Eagle Vision, anything involving lifts, the total lack of Digital Trips, the removal of minigames and AR games in favor of racing (which the driving isn't good enough to justify), no jam comms in multiplayer, can only hold two lethal weapons at a time, and ignoring the connection to AC that the first game established.

CUTE!

>A GAME NOBODY ASKED FOR GETS FORGOTTEN.

Wow what a twist.

I didn't like Watch Dogs 1 very much, so I didn't give much of a shit about the sequel.

I wanted a sequel, but it turned out pretty awful.

Pretty much, this, exactly. Got mine with with an SSD, played it a bit, seemed like more of the same as the first with RC vehicle gimmicks, All in all, pretty forgetful.
