I dodged a bullet with that shit
Terribly. Did badly and got placed with even worse teams half the time. And to top it off my internet died during my last placement match.
Apparently Feb 28th is "Everyone wants to play DPS but sucks at it" day.
Had 3 of my games with my team fighting with itself. One of which we had 4 DPSes.
Had a bastion throw because I healed people on the frontlines instead of him.
Had a couple losses that were close.
And won twice.
Landed at a pathetic 1522. Even lower than last season.
OP here, currently 5-1
Commence sudden plummet towards 5-5
good luck OP.
Edgar, you ADHD ridden child, are you here?
Masters
Anyone here want to smurf? I got one and plan on losing all placement matches. I'd like to lose with a full team to make things easier. Sometimes my team wins 5v6 against my fucking will and make me gain like 40 fucking points. My Smurf finished mid gold S3. I want bronze or silver to play with some low rank friends.
>Placing on the day the Season starts
Lawl, fucking retards just wait a week for everything to settle and then roll out
No, as someone who has done nothing but derank since S1, I can give you some sick deranking tips so your team will never win. What character are you usually using?
Thanks, user.
The secret is to find a support you thoroughly enjoy. Shitters are going to insta-lock a DPS no matter what.
Pretty bad.
How's Mercy fairing in the new meta? I'm thinking about working her in more since I usually play Zen and Sym.
The new ult change caught me off guard a couple times. I keep forgetting she's invulnerable during it now.
On the flipside it saved me a few times too.
But that means it's only up from there.
I go Ana so my team doesn't get heals. The problem I have is some fag goes bastion, torb, or symmetra, and we win because the other team can't counter them.

Skill ratings below 500 will no longer be displayed.
Developer Comments: We’ve noticed that some players have been deliberately throwing their matches in an effort to reach the lowest attainable skill rating. We obviously don’t want to incentivize this behavior, because Competitive Play works best when everybody is trying.
> 5 losses, 2 draws, 3 wins
First lost was due to connection errors while the last lost is due to nobody on my team being able to play attack. sitting comfortably at the bottom of the 2400 range.
lost 9 matches, won 1. got placed in low gold. for fucks sake man why was tonight so fucking stupid for comp
>Win first placement match
>Enemy Bastion starts ranting about "How come fucking selfish people refuse to play healers?"
>Ask him "Well why didn't you play one?"
>"Shut the fuck up"

God I missed comp play
Because everyone wants to get their placement matches out of way, whether for the meme SR1 status or so they can climb their way to Top500. And unfortunately, a large majority of Overwatch players are crap.
I got a similar 1732. The previous season placed me at 2080ish, and i barely played comp because I didn't have time over Christmas season. Finished out at 2250ish, with like 4 hours played. I think the system just places you lower than you finished last season, regardless of how well you do.
Hours played in Comp is a factor because it effects the MMR. So it's likely the fact that you didn't play that placed you lower.
i got 810.
shoot me now. right now.
Hmm, didn't know that. I'm bummed about my placement, but has a good take on it. My career high, from Season 2 was 3124, so hopefully I can at least retake plat this time around.
2-8 Gold at 2359
Which is really heartbreaking because I used to place around 2700 in previous seasons
The placements get more accurate with each season as they have more data. Gold is your home now.
